Acorns’ Corporate Partnerships team is at a pivotal moment, with a growing income stream and a bold vision to hit £1M within two years. As Acorns’ first dedicated new business specialist, you’ll shape how they identify, approach, and secure high-value partnerships worth £40–50K+. You’ll be part of a supportive team and work closely with your line manager, the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager – a detail-oriented and flexible leader who values autonomy, innovation, and progression.

As Corporate Business Development Manager, you will:
- Build and manage a pipeline of strategic new business opportunities across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, focused on Birmingham/Black Country

JOB PURPOSE
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate key donor relationships and continue the development and implementation of the strategy to grow the major donor pipeline. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, and budget and provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the philanthropy manager role through coaching, and by motivating and supporting them to reach their annual target.
- Build on a warm portfolio of donors to achieve current income targets and spot opportunities for growth and deeper development of philanthropic relationships
- Monitor and deliver annual philanthropy budgets and KPIs, assessing ongoing performance, proactively managing risks and providing accurate reporting.
- Own and drive the Major Donor strategy in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.

- Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to grow opportunities within the major donor funding stream in line with UK4U’s fundraising strategy
- Lead on the growth and development of a robust prospect pipeline working with the corporate team, individual giving team, trustees, prospect research team, philanthropy team and other key stakeholders.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors and also the internal technical experts and leadership colleagues who can help support and drive forward opportunities.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
- Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
- Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis with the expectation that our successful candidate will work from our Godmanchester site approximately 1 - 2 days a month or dependant on business need. The starting salary for this position will be £45,511 to £50,568 per annum depending on experience. This is complemented by;

Overview of the Philanthropy Manager role and the team
Barnabas Aid is seeking a proactive and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our International Outreach team. This new role is integral to ensuring the growth and sustainability of our work through regular or one time organisational and personal donations. The Philanthropy Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy in support of this, targeting potential supporters who wish to leave a lasting impact through Barnabas’ work. The role will involve cultivating relationships with current and prospective organisational and private UK based and international supporters, overseeing communications and marketing strategies, and ensuring that Barnabas Aid’s fund raising programme is promoted effectively across all channels.
As part of a dynamic fundraising team, the Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Campaigns, the Living Streams Officer, and the Head of Communications. The role will also involve engagement with donors, ensuring that Barnabas Aid is at the forefront of supporters' minds when it comes to making donations or leaving a legacy for future generations of Christians in need.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Fund Raising Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donation, legacy marketing and stewardship strategy, with the aim of increasing the number of organisational, regular and one-off individual donations in addition to legacy gifts to Barnabas Aid.

- Fund Raising Marketing:

Salary: Circa £43,500 depending on skills and experience.
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Location: Hybrid remote arrangement, with weekly travel required to Morrisons HQ in Bradford. On average, this will involve 1-2 days per week in the office, to be discussed at interview stage alongside travel expenses.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Herts. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities.
Since the hospice opened its doors in 2003, it has gone from strength to strength both in terms of the care we provide to children and their families as well as the close bonds we have developed and nurtured with individuals and organisations who are inspired by our work.
This role sits within the High Value partnerships team, working within the Corporate fundraising team, and alongside Philanthropy, Trusts and Grants, and Special Events. It reports into the Assistant Director of IGM/ Head of High Value Partnerships.
The team pride themselves on their fantastic partnerships and results, and it’s a great time to join as they are currently developing a high value strategy, to underpin the organisation wide strategy and the overall IGM strategy.
