We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing.

Why now? After nearly five years in the role, our Head of Fundraising is moving on. Over the past two consecutive financial years, we have raised approximately £1 million – primarily through trusts and foundations, corporate donors, and individual supporters. As the successful candidate, you and the team you lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining this level of fundraising success, ensuring our vital work with young people continues to flourish.

The Role: We are looking for someone with a strong track record in fundraising and grant management, who is particularly motivated to join Khulisa because of a deep commitment to our mission – supporting the wellbeing and mental health of young people.

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

The Role

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe.

 The role will report to the Vice President, Business Development & Membership on a day-to-day basis and work closely with the Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust and CEO ULI Europe. The role will have a functional reporting line to the Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and management support to the philanthropic fundraising initiatives of the ULI Charitable Trust (and the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee) and ULI Europe, including fundraising campaigns, donation tracking, gift processing, and donor stewardship in cooperation with the ULI Finance team in the US. 
• Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team.
• Collaborate closely with the ULI Europe Business Development and Membership team, ULI’s country directors, and the governance director to support the planning and implementation of the European philanthropic fundraising strategy set by the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with individual and institutional donors,, in close collaboration with the corporate accounts team, CEO, ULI Europe and the Chair of the Charitable Trust / Chair of the ULIF Europe Committee;
• Work in close collaboration with Research & Advisory Services and ESG Programmes colleagues, to identify and research (third party) philanthropic funding and grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of applications for philanthropic funding from (third party) foundations and government agencies;
• Coordination of proposal writing for potential foundation funding, in close collaboration with the research, marketing communications and legal and compliance teams.
• Develop and manage internal processes for grant compliance, application tracking, reporting, and gift acknowledgement for ULI Europe.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Experience working in an operations, administration, or governance role within a UK or European charity, charitable trust, or foundation.
• Experience working in an international business environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• A track record of managing transactions or projects that required multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• A quick learner who is able to adapt easily

Desirable: 

• Familiarity with UK or EU charitable compliance and reporting standards.

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
• Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
• Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.

Event planning (30% of work)

• Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.

What can we offer you?

The salary for this role is £42 000

You will start with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years). We also offer a generous pension scheme (7% employer contribution), free health care provision, death in service benefit.

We are committed to helping our team members maintain a healthy work-life balance, so offer hybrid working opportunities, with an expectation of being in the Leamington office 2-3 days each week, but this may increase slightly during busy periods.

We are looking for a Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager to lead and develop a philanthropy and
partnerships donor base, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders).

This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the Oxford office.

The Role
Cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with larger funders, ensuring strong and sustained engagement.

Manage, identify and build relationships with key corporate funders, negotiate and manage agreements.

Develop compelling, tailored proposals and partnership packages to align with the interests and priorities of potential partners, demonstrating impact.

Plan and execute donor stewardship events and activities to enhance engagement and retention.

The Candidate
Demonstrable experience in a senior fundraising role, with a proven track record in securing major funds from larger funders.

Exceptional major donor management skills, with experience in donor stewardship, partnership development and engagement strategies that build long-term relationships.

Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling applications, proposals and donor communications.

Experience of managing a fundraising team.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for a Communications Lead with excellent written communication skills to help us promote the Centre’s research, campaigns and services across a range of channels. You will ensure our written and visual outputs are of the highest quality, and harness the Centre’s respected brand and reputation to influence change. 

Day-to-day tasks include:

• Copy-editing and proofreading a range of written materials, including blogs and publications
• Laying out our research reports for publication using Adobe InDesign
• Creating on-brand, engaging infographics and social media assets
• Writing and curating content to post to our social media channels
• Producing the Centre's monthly newsletter using Mailchimp
• Issuing press releases and responding to press enquiries

We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, experience of using Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator, with skills in writing copy for a range of key audiences and channels.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about tackling mental health inequalities, mindful of the sensitivities of communicating in this area, and able to harness and promote the Centre’s respected brand to drive change.
