What you’ll lead on
Strategic Finance & Planning
- Lead the development of financial and commercial strategies that support WECHI’s long-term vision.
- Oversee annual budgets, forecasts and business planning.
- Provide clear, insightful financial information to support Board and Executive decision-making.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead all financial reporting, including monthly reviews, cashflow management, quarterly management accounts, BVAs and year-end accounts (including subsidiaries).
- Manage the annual audit and maintain strong relationships with bankers, insurers and auditors.
- Ensure robust financial controls, policies and procedures across the organisation.
Operational Performance & Growth
- Partner with operational teams to improve performance, efficiency and financial sustainability.
- Provide financial modelling and support for bids, business cases and new service development.
- Contribute to revenue growth, including development of commercial opportunities and private income streams.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Act as Company Secretary, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen organisational governance and risk management, including maintenance of risk registers.
- Ensure compliance with data protection, information governance and financial regulations.
Corporate Services Leadership
- Manage the People Support Lead, providing line management and oversight, while working collaboratively to ensure HR compliance, develop people strategy, and coordinate on key operational matters including payroll and budgets.
- Lead IT oversight and the outsourced IT function, ensuring systems are maintained and improved.
- Oversee facilities management and represent WECHI as a Director for Hide Market Management.

You're an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record of generating revenue through partnerships, training programmes, or business development. You might come from membership organisations, professional bodies, charities, education or healthcare settings, or from B2B commercial roles with clear transferable skills.
You have the entrepreneurial confidence to build something new, the strategic thinking to identify opportunities, and the relationship skills to turn those opportunities into sustainable partnerships. You're equally comfortable developing pricing models and financial projections as you are crafting compelling partnership proposals.
Most importantly, you understand that commercial success and charitable purpose aren't opposing forces – they're complementary. You want your commercial expertise to strengthen a charity's capacity to serve its members and achieve its mission.

The Role

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Purpose of the Role

The Director of UK Mass Markets is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Mass Markets team in the UK and for securing long-term sustainable income for the IRC through individual donor acquisition, retention and supporter care. You will lead and develop a high-performing team by growing mass marketing audiences and income, developing exciting and targeted campaigns, identifying opportunities for product, channel and audience diversification, and championing UX and a supporter centric fundraising model. About the Role
As a Housing and Support Officer, you’ll play a central role within our Housing and Support team, helping us deliver exceptional care, stability, and guidance to our residents. You’ll often be the first friendly face they see—answering queries, providing clear guidance, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
This is a dynamic, people-focused role with a broad range of responsibilities. From reception and administrative duties to first aid, safety checks, and supporting new residents, your work directly contributes to a positive and meaningful experience for our community. No two days will be the same—and every day, your impact will be felt.
Key Responsibilities
First-Class Customer Service
You’ll be at the heart of our community, offering consistently warm, professional, and helpful support. Your interactions create a real and lasting difference for residents, visitors, and their support networks.
A Varied and Engaging Role
From managing calls and handling payments to coordinating repairs and mail, your everyday tasks keep our sites running smoothly. You’ll also support essential safety and security processes that protect our community.
Safety & Security Leadership
As a trained first aider and fire marshal, you’ll be trusted to respond effectively during emergencies. Regular wellbeing and facilities patrols will help ensure that residents feel secure, supported, and at ease.
Welcoming & Supportive Engagement
You’ll warmly welcome new residents, listen to concerns, respond to incidents of anti-social behaviour, and offer compassionate assistance to those who need it. Your attentiveness helps us maintain a safe and inclusive space.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Work alongside experienced housing advisors who share your commitment to making a difference. Your enthusiasm, empathy, and professionalism will be valued and celebrated as part of a supportive and dedicated team.
