Leukaemia UK and You
This is a new part-time role combining operational management of our small office based in Central London, with supporting and developing the governance activities of an ambitious and growing charity.
Hands-on experience managing the operations of small to medium sized organisations is essential, particularly facilities and office management, health and safety, and IT (working with an outsourced IT Support provider).
You will support the CEO and Director of Finance & Resources with governance activities including preparing for and running board and sub-committee meetings. You will need to be a confident minute-taker with a good eye for detail, and have experience in collating high-quality board paper packs.
You will have an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement across your areas of responsibility, and as the only role on the team covering these functions, must love being hands-on and getting stuck in. In return, you will gain experience working closely with trustees and the leadership team, and gain understanding and insight into all aspects of running an ambitious and growing charity.
Skills and Experience
- Substantial experience of office and facilities management
- Understanding of health & safety and risk assessment
- Experience of servicing boards and committees, including preparing agendas, collating and disseminating papers, and taking minutes
- Understanding of charity regulation and the charity commission

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Governance teams of two local Devon hospices. Hospiscare, the hospice for Exeter, Mid and East Devon, and St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, are jointly recruiting for a Data Protection Officer.
In this role you’ll play an important part in safeguarding both organisations’ information. Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with information management legislation and policies, assessing risks and implementing effective controls. You’ll have technical understanding of data protection legislation, together with in-depth knowledge of cyber security principles and risk management.

About the Role
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a visionary and strategic financial leader to join our team as Chief Finance Officer (CFO). The Role
As CFO, you will play a pivotal role in our Strategic Management Team (SMT), providing financial leadership that aligns with our bold strategy. You will lead GAIN’s finance team, providing the strategic direction necessary to support our ambitious goals.

Your Profile
The ideal candidate will have a distinguished career in finance, ideally within the non-profit or related sectors, and a proven track record at the Finance Director or CFO level in a multi-country context. Key attributes include:
- A recognised professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, FCA, CPA).
- Extensive experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and managing financial operations in a complex, global environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead a geographically dispersed team.
- Deep understanding of diverse regulatory environments, particularly those relevant to Swiss Foundations.
- Expertise in donor and project funding, FOREX, and cash optimisation in a non-profit context.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including Board members, donors, and non-financial staff.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the United Nations in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Due to COVID19, conflict in Ukraine and climate change, malnutrition and hunger have worsened significantly since 2019, reversing a decade of progress. There is growing recognition that our food systems need to change if we are to reverse these trends.

About Us
University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) comprises three hospitals: the Royal Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch Hospitals which provide services to around 750,000 people across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, East Dorset, Purbeck and parts of the New Forest.
In addition; we have secured over £500 million in national capital funding through the Sustainability and Transformation Programme, New Hospitals Programme and Frontline Digitisation Programme to enable our once in a generation transformation.

The Role
We are currently looking to recruit an exceptional, professional and highly motivated Deputy Chief Finance Officer to provide leadership and support to the Chief Finance Officer and wider Finance team. Each year we are entrusted with over £850 million of public money and you will play a crucial role in ensuring we achieve the maximum possible value for our patients.
In conjunction with the Chief Finance Officer, the Deputy Chief Finance Officer is responsible for providing a fully comprehensive financial management service to the organisation to develop and implement the Trust's overall financial and commercial strategies.
You will support the CFO to develop and deliver the finance strategy, which supports delivery of the overall Trust strategy. This includes ensuring that resources are effectively deployed to provide the best possible care and value for money for our patients.
The role will provide leadership to the finance function including a focus on leadership and culture, talent and skills development, and recruitment and retention.
You will also have responsibility for reporting the financial position to Committees of the Trust Board, including being a standing member of the Finance and Performance Committee deputise for the CFO at Trust Board, Council of Governor and other meetings as necessary.
About You
To succeed in this role you will:
* Be a qualified accountant with significant experience working in a large, complex organisation and ideally experience of providing expert advice on both strategic and operational matters relating to all aspects of the finance and commercial portfolio.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience of leading and engaging with finance and other corporate functions to develop a mature and rounded service. You will be expected to work with partners across the Dorset Integrated Care System to develop comprehensive financial plans that are fully aligned to clinical, operational and workforce plans and stand up to detailed regulatory scrutiny so prior experience in this area would be useful.
* Be financially and politically aware, bringing a high level of NHS knowledge on the delivery of good financial control and financial governance ensuring that an effective service is delivered, deputising for the CFO as appropriate.
