About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and experienced sports and challenge fundraiser, to deliver a review of our sports and challenge events programme, identifying new opportunities to grow our income.
Working closely with the Head of Individual Giving and Fundraising Campaigns, you will develop strategies and bring new ideas to grow and develop this programme, potentially including community events – to deliver significant growth in income over the next 5 years.
In this feasibility review, you will analyse our past performance including in well-established, externally organised activities such as marathons and third-party challenge events, and our partner events such as the Terry Fox Runs. You will also assess the feasibility of developing and launching our own-branded events.
During the review, you will line-manage the Sports and Challenge Events Officer to maintain and deliver our current successful events programme and work together on the feasibility review to identify new opportunities for innovation and ways to increase participation.
You will build key relationships across the department and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, to identify and work through new ways to grow participation and increase fundraising income.
At the end of the review, you will present your findings, making recommendations on the key components for a future sports and challenge programme that reflect our ambitions for growth, with plans to deliver it.
This is initially a fixed term project contract. There is potential for the role to become permanent dependent on the direction and outcomes of the review.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will lead a review of our sports and challenge events programme, including third-party activities such as marathons and challenge events, using data to analyse past performance (income and ROI) and assess the feasibility for developing our own-brand sports, challenge or community events – whilst maintaining the success our current programme of activities.
You will:
- Review, develop and prepare plans to deliver a profitable, engaging and effective annual programmes of sports, challenge and community event opportunities.
- Be responsible for managing the annual available sports marketing budget and contributing to annual budget planning.
- Create innovative new sports and challenge events, designed to attract and retain supporters and develop plans to launch these on time, and to budget.
- Work with Communications and Digital teams to develop comprehensive marketing plans to promote our events, secure participants and increase levels of engagement.
- Work with your team to set targets and monitor progress of fundraisers – and manage their participation in cost-effective ways, to maximise return on investment.
- Support your team to provide excellent stewardship and supporter experience, with pre and post event contact, to encourage repeat participation.
- Collaborate with Development teams to cross sell and identify leads for fundraisers from other areas of fundraising, such as major gifts, corporate, appeals and legacies.
- Be responsible for managing and the personal development of your team, to deliver their campaigns and activities, to agreed objectives and KPIs.
About You
You’ll be a confident, motivated, self-starter who is passionate about using your fundraising experience and skills to make a difference to the lives of people with cancer. You’ll be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills and creative flair, who enjoys working with a wide range of people, to bring new ideas and initiatives to life.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Proven experience and success in a similar role in events or sports and challenges and / or community fundraising
- A proven track record of being results-driven and working to and achieving fundraising targets
- Significant experience of developing and delivering fundraising / and or event plans
- Ability to create and implement marketing plans (online and offline) for events-related activity
- Good interpersonal skills and experience of building and developing relationships with a wide range individuals, colleagues, event committees, and suppliers
- Highly organised and analytical, with ability to cope with competing priorities
- Experience of setting and managing budgets, developing strategies, and producing comprehensive reports

Strengthening The Future of Macclesfield’s Heritage moves the Trust towards this vision, strengthening fundraising capacity plus staff and board skills, to provide a solid foundation for the future.
The Trust has achieved a great deal over the last 5 years, securing funding from public sources, trusts, and foundations. This newly created role will build on this success and attract substantial support from individuals and corporate sources. It involves working with internal and external stakeholders to raise funds for core funding, projects, and capital campaigns. It is envisaged that the post-holder will work with Trustees and staff to establish a Development sub-group to inform and drive this work. Strategic planning and communications are key to this. Role:

· Develop a 3-5 year business plan
· Cost and plan options for tackling the site:
o Limitations to accessibility and visitor welcome
o Constraints to income generation
o significant challenges to building maintenance, environmental sustainability, care, and display of our collections
o rising energy costs
· Secure funding for major conservation, building repairs and organisational development.
To build a new supporter community and membership offer to attract supporters and philanthropists for the Trust’s development plans

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Development
· Review and develop the Trust’s Development & Fundraising Strategy, identifying and pursuing fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and funding applications in line with this strategy, including:
o Trusts and foundations
o Statutory funders
o Corporate support and partnerships
o a new legacies programme, Supporters, and individual giving programmes
· Maximise income and in-kind support through fundraising activities onsite and online, including events and sponsorship, to engage current supporters and cultivate new relationships.
· Ensure that all fundraising activities are delivered professionally and timely to ensure maximum and meaningful engagement
· Manage the evaluation of fundraising activities and prepare and submit reports to key stakeholders.
· Deliver reporting for statutory funders, ensuring that the museum delivers on its reporting requirements in a timely manner.
General responsibilities and duties
· Oversee the work of the Programming Team (Senior Curator, Paradise Mill; Museum Curator; Community Engagement Programmer) in delivering, evaluating, and reporting on existing funded programmes, including Arts Council CIP, Pilgrim Trust, Granada Foundation, Foyle Foundation, and Macclesfield Town Council.

Fundraising Officer Job Description
Key Responsibilities Fundraising and Finance:
- To carry out and contribute to the fundraising strategy
- Write comprehensive and compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, tailoring them to meet a range of criteria
- To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising goals
- Build, nurture and maintain positive relationships with current funders, corporates and donors by stewarding them well.

Working arrangements

The Coln Restoration Group are seeking a part-time, self-employed Adviser to report to the Chairman and Donors of the group. The post extends and builds on the successful work undertaken over the last sixteen months by the Upper Coln Restoration Group.
The aim of the CRG is to restore the Coln river, a major Upper Thames tributary, to the state it was in until it was overwhelmed and degraded in recent years by excessive sewerage storm overflow, sewage storm tank spill events and compromising groundwater abstraction.
The applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the campaign to restore the Coln river. This includes devising a strategy with the Chairman and the group to maintain pressure on Thames Water to fulfil its significant new investment undertakings and to meet its wider statutory obligations and responsibilities for improving the state of the river.
The role will require engagement with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies including Ofwat and the Environment Agency, or their successors, to ensure support for the implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing restoration plan. An important role requiring the ability to help drive the process on a weekly and monthly basis.
Qualifications sought from the applicant may include the following areas:
· Evidence of multi-agency and/ or corporate team working at a senior level.
· Academic achievement and environmental or farming working knowledge.

Who are we?
Established in 2014, Beating Time is an award-winning charity operating across the UK, from two offices in London and Birmingham. We help people survive a prison sentence and thrive after release, ultimately to reduce their chances of reoffending. We run two continuous programmes: Choirs Beating Time, running weekly prison choirs and songwriting groups, and Inside Job, which uses a peer-led employment model to help people through release and into paid work. We have sung with thousands of people, directly supported 700+ people into employment, influenced policy and partnered with many high-profile organisations.
The role
We’re hiring for an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated Fundraising and Communications Officer to join us in London (Woolwich) or Bimingham (Digbeth). You will need to be based near to one of those offices, we do a mixture of WHF and in office working.
Idealy, we’re looking for someone with an interest in the criminal justice system, strong knowledge of fundraising (particularly for small charities) and communications expertise.
This role is an opportunity to shape how we present ourselves to funders and supporters and maintain long-term partnerships with them. You will play an active role in determining our future fundraising strategy while meeting the day-to-day demands of keeping a small charity afloat. You’ll contribute to our efforts to diversify income streams by securing support from corporates and other partners – this requires an ability to think creatively and strategically.
An advantage of doing this work in a small team is you’ll be able to see the direct effect of your work on how we deliver Choirs Beating Time and Inside Job, often in practice during prison visits. You’ll work closely with senior management to stay on top of budgets and cashflow to inform your fundraising decisions and grow a culture of income awareness across the charity.
Communications play an important role in maintaining relationships with funders and stakeholders. We want to keep up a strong, involved presence on LinkedIn, while contributing to sector-wide advocacy, and boosting visibility through online and in-person events. An important part of our comms strategy is conveying our impact; you will also prepare regular impact reports for internal and external use.
What we’re looking for
- Excellent writing and editing skills – your day-to-day tasks will involve writing grant applications and reports to new and existing funders (majority trusts and foundations). You will collate and write quarterly newsletters, circulated to funders, partner organisations, supporters and our employer network.
- Fundraising expertise – you will research and identify potential funders/corporate sponsorship to feed into the prospect pipeline. You will also develop and maintain a database to keep track of new/existing/past funders and monitor fundraising impact.
- Strong organisational skills – previous experience working or volunteering with a small charity is a plus. You will often be working to deadlines and need to be able to plan ahead and organise your schedule accordingly. Your role as part of the central team will include taking minutes at weekly meetings, liaising with prisons and freelance musical directors, and actively reaching out to government and sector bodies where necessary. You’ll be able to multitask effectively and be highly organised with very strong attention to detail.
- Interest in the criminal justice system – we are active members of the criminal justice third sector, championing people with lived experience (especially within our own team). You may be asked to attend sector-wide events, participate in roundtables, and contribute to reports.
- Solid knowledge of social media management – you will use Canva and other resources to design and post on our accounts, particularly LinkedIn. Posts might include internal updates (e.g. new hires, staff milestones), reactions to sector events (e.g. our response to the Sentencing Review), news about our employer partners, and beneficiary case studies.

Most people don't realise how much need there is, nor how they can make a difference to it, while for some it doesn't yet matter. We aim to be a window into the mission field, to help people see the multitudes and be moved with compassion, and begin to take steps to make that difference as a partner of GFA World. Today thousands of people in the world will die without ever having had a chance to hear of Jesus' love for them, and we exist to give more people that chance before it's too late. We currently have about 1,500 generous partners, and we hope to double that in the next 5 years.
In this role you will serve as a vital link between the church in the UK and Europe and the mission fields of Asia and Africa.

You and the team will be the voice of GFA World to the UK and Europe, representing the mission field to them. We will train you to answer queries, process requests, and share stories from the mission field.
Donor Services
Our second Core Value is "Being A People Of Integrity And Excellence", and one key way we live that out is proper handling of donations from our faithful partners. You and the team will receive donations and record them in our database, and send the appropriate acknowledgments to those who gave them.
Sponsor Relations
Part of our Mission Statement is to "fulfil the Great Commission through sending out qualified labourers in partnership with the body of Christ". There's no better way to see that happen than to help believers here sponsor missionaries in mission field areas. You and the team will help people initiate and maintain their sponsorship commitments, sending them photo profiles, testimonies, and updates.
Posting Materials
We can't take everyone to the mission field to experience what God is doing, the next best things is to give them materials which tell the story, and challenge them to think about others. You and the team will be helping that happen by sending people our mission minded materials and books.
Corporate Prayer
Our fifth Core Value is "Being A People Committed To Prayer And Worship", and GFA World started with a Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting. It is fueled by prayer, and would die out without it. We maintain this tradition and require all staff to take part in praying for the needs of a dying world, to ensure we are always depending upon the Holy Trinity for grace for His work.

The National Lottery Community Fund is recruiting for a Communications Manager to play a vital role in the newly restructured communications and engagement function to deliver on our strategy, It Starts With Community.
The role is part of our ambitious transformation as we implement a significant pivot in our communications approach – building on our support for grant-making to demonstrate the powerful impact communities have in strengthening society and improving lives.
In this role, you’ll deliver integrated communications that bring our missions and the story of National Lottery funding to life. You’ll be the strategic voice behind the campaigns that highlight how communities are creating lasting social change.
You will focus on two key areas - your country, Scotland, and one of the four core missions - creating powerful alignment between them and helping to showcase the impact of community-led projects across the UK.
You’ll work closely with Strategic Communications Leads and other colleagues across the organisation to deliver communications plans that align with our corporate strategy and customer journey. Your work will help shape public understanding of the Fund, build trust with stakeholders, and inspire communities to engage with our funding.
We are looking for a creative and strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling. You’ll be experienced in developing integrated campaigns and working across teams to deliver high-impact communications.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop deep insight into at least one portfolio and mission, to enable you to implement effective communications plans for your mission and portfolio, aligned to the corporate plan, and the Fund’s customer journey, including supporting the Strategic Communications Lead to build and manage matrix teams.
- Provide communications support to portfolio and mission leads, including creating messaging, narrative and content, social and brand assets, working closely with colleagues in the wider team to deliver effective and impactful communications activities.
- Build relationships with journalists and lead on devolved media relations activities in your country, working closely with colleagues in the media team to deliver integrated activities, monitoring media and advising on opportunities and risks. Ensure rapid response to emerging issues with processes and protocol on lines to take and spokespeople, including participating in the out of hours on call rota.
- Liaise with colleagues in funding teams to identify opportunities for storytelling, working with the content manager to bring these to life
- Liaise with internal communications colleagues to ensure external communications generate engagement within the Fund
- Project manage and deliver corporate communications assets, including the annual report and corporate strategy updates.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Prospect Team Manager to identify, qualify and deliver high-quality prospect insight to support transformational giving across their philanthropy and high value programmes.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.
Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, grow their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that will shape how the charity uses data, research and insight to drive significant growth in income from major donors, corporate partners and other high-value supporters. You will lead the Prospect Research function, developing and delivering a proactive, insight-led prospect research strategy to support the charity’s ambitious fundraising goals, as well as working to identify potential major donors amongst individuals, trusts and corporates.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in prospect research including identifying and prioritising prospects, network mapping, ethical screening and developing gift capacity ratings. You will be a proactive, strategic thinker with a collaborative outlook and a high attention to detail. You will also possess excellent analytical and communication skills. Experience in setting up or significantly developing a prospect research function would be an advantage.
