About us
NCT is the national charity for pregnancy, birth, infant feeding and early parenthood.
Our vision is simple: a society where everyone who becomes a parent feels confident, connected and safe.
Through our For Every Parent strategy, we're working to make that vision a reality. We support parents with trusted information, practical help, local communities and a stronger voice in the issues that matter to families.
For 70 years, we've been by parents' sides through the excitement, uncertainty, wonder and challenges of becoming a parent. Today, our volunteers contribute more than 70,000 hours of community service each year, helping parents build friendships, find support and feel less alone.
We educate and empower parents with evidence-based information and support. We advocate and act by listening to parents' experiences, raising their voices and campaigning for change. No judgement. No exceptions.
About the role
We're looking for a Content & Social Media Officer to help bring NCT's content and social media activity to life, creating engaging, audience-focused content that connects with new and expectant parents across our wide range of channels.
Working as part of the Content Studio, you'll create high-quality content across social, email, web, video and campaign activity, helping to deliver marketing campaigns, support income-generating partnership activity and strengthen NCT's brand. You'll work closely with the Content & Social Media Manager and colleagues across Marketing, Communications and Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships to ensure content is engaging, accessible and aligned with NCT's tone of voice.
You'll also play an important role in the day-to-day management of NCT's social media channels, helping to plan and schedule content, engage with our online communities and identify reactive opportunities. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating content, spotting stories and building meaningful connections with audiences.
You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where one day you might be creating graphics and editing a reel for an upcoming campaign, and the next you'll be responding to comments or helping to bring a new corporate partnership to life across our channels.
The role will include:
- Creating engaging content across a range of channels including social, email, web, video and other campaign assets.
- Producing compelling copy, visual assets and short-from video content that reflect NCT's tone of voice and brand messaging.
- Supporting the day-to-day management of NCT's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Planning and coordinating social activity in line with campaign and organisational priorities, as well as identifying and acting on reactive and real-time opportunities.
- Monitoring social media channels, responding to comments and messages, and helping to build an engaged online community.
- Contributing creative ideas and supporting the smooth operation of the Content Studio and working collaboratively with teams across Marketing, Communications and Fundraising to hit deadlines.
- Using data and insights to improve content performance and audience engagement.

You'll bring hands-on experience managing social media accounts for a brand, charity or values-led organisation, along with a strong understanding of what works across different platforms. You'll be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, working to deadlines and adapting quickly when opportunities or priorities change.
