The role: Hackney Giving is a grants programme for the not-for-profit sector, run by Hackney CVS. Relaunched in April 2020, Hackney Giving has so far distributed more than £2.2million to charities and community organisations in Hackney and the City of London.
We are looking for a Community Giving and Partnerships Coordinator to support the Hackney Giving Development and Programme Manager to help develop the Hackney Giving programme.
The postholder will:
- Generate income from businesses and individuals – diversifying our income streams to support our long-term sustainability. This income will contribute to the funds needed to deliver Hackney Giving’s key priorities around local health and social inequalities.
- Generate partnerships and in kind support, such as donated services, donated goods, and volunteering.
This role would suit an individual who can energetically promote Hackney Giving as the go to fund for Hackney and the City.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities
The Head of Programme Management leads a large team to oversee all of CIUK’s active humanitarian and development projects funded by UK donors. The team leads CIUK’s relationships with Country Offices and Regions and develops close partnerships to help us achieve long-term and effective programming across the humanitarian and development arena. The team also builds strong relationships with institutional donors and works with the Business with CARE team to deliver corporate-funded programmes. The Head of Programme Management is responsible for ensuring strong grant management and donor compliance including programme financial management. The team ensures that CARE provides and is recognised by donors for offering excellent value for money and real impact for its programme participants. The team also leads CIUK’s approach to delivering smart development and humanitarian programmes with an increasing focus on equitable partnership approaches.

The Head of Programme Management is a key organisational leadership role and will be part of the CIUK Extended Leadership Team working with other heads of team and the senior leadership team to help run the organisation effectively and deliver the 3-year strategy. CIUK’s restricted income from donors is significant and is CIUK’s largest income stream; as such the Head of PMT has a high level of responsibility for stewardship and effective management of the ongoing programme portfolio. Our largest programmes are complex multi-partner consortia in fragile contexts with budgets of up to £60m. The role-holder also has a crucial role to play in identifying learning from our programmes, including from our new ways of working that promote greater local leadership, and sharing these across CARE and the sector.
About you
You will have excellent understanding of CIUK’s main donor, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with deep knowledge of how the FCDO operates, how they are structured and contract programmes, as well as their current priorities. You will have the ability to build strong relationships and have demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts with donors and influence donor positions. You will have a strong programme management and risk management background that allows you to understand and work across multiple projects and contexts, and manage risk at the portfolio level, dealing effectively with new risks and issues as they emerge.
As a leader of a large team, you will have strong people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action, motivate colleagues and demonstrate to team members how their role links to organisational strategy and objectives. You will need to have experience of working in donor-funded organisations, understand cost recovery models, and have experience working to deliver large-scale programming in development and/or humanitarian contexts. A good understanding of the current debates in the sector on local leadership and a commitment to the principles set out in the pledge for change are essential.
About the role
The role covers five main areas of responsibility:
- Representation and relationship management: holding relationships with a set of senior stakeholders including FCDO Senior Responsible Owners, other donor counterparts, CARE Country Directors, Programme Directors and Regional Directors. Negotiating contract terms with donors and troubleshooting delivery issues with country offices. Position CARE’s work to external stakeholders, including personally representing CIUK in external fora.
- Organisational and team leadership, strategy and planning: Set and drive the programme management team’s annual plans and contribution to the organisation’s strategic priorities and annual plan. Be accountable to delivering on team KPIs and organisational KPIs that link to PMT’s work. Play a key role in the leadership of the Programme and Policy department.
- Line management: Directly line manage up to five direct reports. Provide and support strong recruitment, line management, learning and development. Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to CIUK’s equity, diversity and inclusion goals, promote organisational EDI initiatives within the team and work with the team to set team-related EDI objectives.
- Financial and compliance management: Provide close and effective management of multi-million pound budgets. Reforecast accurately throughout the year, identifying and working with country offices to rectify implementation issues. Manage risks and issues at portfolio level, raising high and critical risks for attention by senior leadership and board as necessary. Ensure donor compliance is followed.
- Programme quality, monitoring evaluation and learning : Ensure that CIUK closely monitors project implementation, relevance of programme outputs and outcomes and ensures programmes meet relevant technical standards and up to date best practice. Programmes fulfil requirements on programme quality and adhere to do no harm standards, the Core Humanitarian Standard, and ensure that CARE’s safeguarding standards are met throughout the life of the programme. Proactively share knowledge from CIUK’s programmes across the confederation and externally.

When a person or their family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. They can experience a huge drop in confidence, lose their independence and can feel isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through. Back Up was started by volunteers and our volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do, including shaping and delivering our range of services.
The Volunteer Development Assistant will be the main point of contact for volunteer enquiries and requests and will work across Back Up to understand volunteer needs in order for the volunteer team to grow and support delivery of our life changing services. We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families. Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.
The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year. The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.
We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service. Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services. We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.
This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work. We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global news and information services company. As an independent charity we work to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights. We combine our unique media development and legal services to drive systemic change through news, capacity strengthening, free legal assistance, and convening initiatives.
TRF provides a Secretariat function to the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC). The MFC is a partnership of 50 countries from six continents working together to advocate for media freedom and the safety of journalists at home and abroad. The MFC works closely with civil society and a panel of legal experts, among others, to promote media freedom through a range of activities – including public and private diplomacy to support journalists at risk, coordinated action through embassies, events and the promotion of legal reforms. The MFC was established in 2019 while the Secretariat was established in 2022. More information about the MFC can be found here.
The MFC Secretariat plays a central role in maximising the impact of the Coalition. It does this in four areas:

Administration and operations: delivering specific activities including events and briefings; supporting and coordinating responses to cases of concern (in which journalists and news organisations are facing threats to their reporting); supporting embassies to act on media freedom; organizing meetings and maintaining the MFC’s network of contacts;

Communications: communicating the MFC’s activities and impact externally, via website, social media and mainstream media coverage; supporting public-facing events; keeping the MFC’s network informed about activities and opportunities to take action;

Policies and strategy: ensuring policies and processes are in place to facilitate an efficient, effective and responsive coalition; supporting strategic decision making; monitoring the latest developments in the media freedom context;

The Secretariat is supported by grants from Global Affairs Canada and the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office.
We are seeking a creative and resourceful Communications Manager to join our team. You will lead on the Secretariat’s communications function, both internally and externally, and will implement (and potentially improve on) our existing communications strategy. For the MFC, effective communications are not only about demonstrating the Coalition’s impact, they are also a way of encouraging and inspiring MFC member countries and their embassies to take action on media freedom. This means the Coalition’s communications are an essential component of its pathway to impact.
You will be required to engage with government representatives, diplomats, NGO leaders and some of the world’s finest legal practitioners as part of this role. You will look across the Coalition’s work and develop relationships with member countries and their embassies to identify human-centred stories that showcase the MFC’s work. The ideal candidate will be skilled at turning issues into stories and comfortable with taking the initiative and taking ownership of this area of the Secretariat’s work.
The role is based in Canary Wharf in London. The role is full time and you would be expected to attend TRF’s offices two or more days per week.
This is a 21-month fixed-term contract, starting 1 July 2024 or earlier, depending on availability. The contract may be extended beyond March 2026, conditional on further funds being secured for the Secretariat’s continued operation.
Some travel is anticipated as part of this role.
About The Role
As the Communications Manager you will:

Research, develop, edit and write communications materials including impact stories and case studies for the MFC’s website and potentially other platforms, using multimedia options where appropriate

Lead on the implementation of the MFC’s communications strategy, potentially making improvements to this, and tracking key performance indicators accordingly

Manage the MFC’s website and social media channels (currently focused on Twitter/X) and monitor analytics/produce reports; manage upgrades to the MFC website in collaboration with TRF colleagues

Curate and produce the MFC’s monthly network newsletter, which is sent to all MFC members and stakeholders

Organise MFC events, online or in-person, and secure engaging speakers to feature in them

Plan the MFC’s communications activities, taking account of communications opportunities such as anniversaries and international days

Promote and maximise the impact of joint statements by MFC member countries, and monitor their impact

Produce resources for member governments and their embassies, helping them to communicate on key media freedom issues

Build relationships with media freedom organisations and networks to ensure wider communications reach and opportunities to collaborate

Identify opportunities to feature the MFC within national/regional/international media as appropriate and build relationships to facilitate this

About You

About the role
As a Partnership Executive, you'll manage a portfolio of existing partners in London and the Southeast region. Your focus will be on nurturing strong relationships, increasing stock levels, and ensuring partners feel valued.
You'll be responsible for generating significant stock levels for many of our shops, stores, and online channels by developing partnerships with universities, local authorities, and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSAs).

We have an exciting 18-month fixed term opportunity to join British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Health Partnerships & Community Resuscitation Team to deliver partnerships which make a lifesaving, life improving impact.
Through our work we want to reach more people, in new ways, with greater impact, involving more people in their heart and circulatory health and care, and in the work of BHF. This will improve health outcomes and help ensure that BHF strengthens its position as the nation’s heart charity.
About the role
In this role you’ll contribute to the operational delivery of innovative health partnerships for BHF. These partnerships help us to reach, on a mass scale, people at risk or living with heart and circulatory diseases; working with large corporate organisations, other charities, and community groups to provide information, support and skills in innovative ways to improve health awareness, support self-management and reduce health inequalities.
As part of the Health Partnerships team, you’ll support several health partners, delivering agreed activity and maximising the opportunity to reach their workforce and customers with our free health initiatives.
You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across BHF particularly in our Medical and Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement teams, as well as external partners to meet agreed aims and objectives. You’ll also work closely with other delivery teams (e.g. Clinical Support, Health Content, Community Resuscitation and Customer Service Teams) to create an integrated and seamless customer experience for your partners.
Obtaining a comprehensive knowledge of our health offerings during your induction, you’ll develop a warm and productive relationship with your key accounts and ensure the delivery of activity is fulfilled effectively and efficiently and that your partners needs and opportunities for growth are appropriately identified so that they receive the best possible experience from the BHF.

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to generate vital income for their work in making a society in which people are safer and feel safer. The senior public affairs and policy manager will help us to understand the key policy issues in health and healthcare and lead our influencing work, developing the RCP’s networks, particularly in parliament and government.
You will help manage and oversee a portfolio of high-profile work across a range of topics, proactively identifying opportunities for the RCP to influence the agenda and working with RCP fellows and members to shape and progress our campaigns. You will lead and manage our public affairs work, contributing your expertise to design and lead influencing strategies, campaign planning and policy development for a range of issues.

An estimated 172 million children in India are considered ‘at-risk’ from various forms of harm and exploitation. Children are made vulnerable by a complex network of interconnecting factors such as high levels of poverty, gender inequality, unsafe migration, cultural norms and poor implementation of schemes and laws. The Child Opportunity Fund’s goal is to create more safe spaces to ensure that millions of children can live their lives to the fullest potential. To achieve this, they are aiming to raise $25m which will be matched by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, totalling a $50m fund.
We are looking for an exceptional philanthropic fundraising leader, with experience of leading an appeal and first-hand programme management skills, to undertake a one year maternity cover as the Interim Head of Child Opportunity Appeal. - ensure all donors and partners receive first-class stewardship and relationship management, working closely with in-country, programmes and communications colleagues to produce compelling proposals, reports and updates;
- support the CEO to manage the partnership with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation;
- develop and deliver strong engagement opportunities and leverage cultivation event and project visit opportunities;
- contribute to financial planning and reporting, and develop processes and systems for effective fundraising and stewardship.
About you
Ideal skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of operating in a senior philanthropic leadership role with a strategic mindset and high levels of ambition
- Exceptional project/programme management skills
- Experience of running a significant philanthropic appeal/campaign, or playing a senior role in the delivery of a large project in a complex organisation
- Experience of implementing a fundraising strategy and successfully meeting KPIs and targets
- Strong track record in securing high value gifts from warm and cold donors and partners, including demonstrable ability to independently manage the fundraising process from research/identification to closing the ask
- Exceptional communication and networking skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders of all levels (SMT, Trustees, senior volunteers, donors, partners and colleagues)
- Strong team leadership skills with a supportive and motivating approach to rally colleagues across the organisation to deliver on the Appeal
- Ability to be both strategic and operational
- Ambitious, a natural-analyser, trustworthy, calm and proactive
