Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on creativity to help shape how Phoenix Futures communicates with the people we support, our colleagues, partners and wider audiences.

We’re looking for someone with significant experience in brand management, content and communications who can bring ideas to life across digital, print and internal channels. You’ll be passionate about creating engaging, accessible and impactful content, while ensuring our brand is consistently represented across everything we do.

The Role

As Brand and Content Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of Phoenix Futures’ brand, content and communications channels.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead the creation of high-quality digital, print and creative communications, while managing and developing key platforms including SharePoint, our websites, social media channels and Phoenix News.

You’ll be the organisation’s brand guardian and a key source of advice and expertise on brand, content, visual communications and creative best practice. You’ll help ensure that our communications are engaging, accessible, user-focused and aligned with our organisational priorities.

You’ll also lead on content planning and editorial management, internal communications, creative storytelling and digital experience development. Using analytics, audience insight and feedback, you’ll identify opportunities to improve how we communicate and ensure our content reaches and engages the people who need it.

The role will involve working with senior stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and creative partners, managing projects, budgets and deadlines to deliver high-quality campaigns and communications.

This is a 37.5 hour per week role, based on a hybrid London and home-working arrangement.

About You

To join us as our Brand and Content Manager, you will need:

  • Significant experience in brand management and leading strategic content and communications across digital, print and internal communication channels
  • Strong graphic design and content production skills, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or equivalent
  • Experience developing and improving websites, SharePoint environments and digital communication platforms
  • A strong understanding of user experience, accessibility, SEO, content optimisation and digital analytics
  • Experience of content planning, editorial management and delivering communications across multiple channels
  • Experience creating and managing internal communications and employee engagement content
  • Experience managing external suppliers, agencies and creative partners to deliver high-quality communications and design projects
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use performance data and audience insight to evaluate content and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines
  • Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills, with a high level of literacy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to work with senior leaders
  • The ability to work independently, use sound judgement and take ownership of brand and communications activity
  • A commitment to the values, mission and recovery-focused approach of Phoenix Futures

Experience of photography, video production, animation or multimedia storytelling would also be desirable, as would a professional qualification in Graphic Design.

If you’re a creative, strategic and organised communications professional looking for a role where your work can make a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Rewards

  • Starting salary of £35,500 + London weighting contribution of £500, with the opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, meaning potential salary increase up to £41,000
  • Committed to providing a Real Living Wage for you, through accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing each year to a maximum of 30 days
  • Benefits including season ticket loan, pension scheme and life assurance
  • Support through occupational sick pay, eye-care vouchers and regular wellbeing talks and activities
  • Continuous training and career development via PXL, our dedicated learning management system
  • Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, including telephone and online access
  • A rewarding role where you can use your creativity, expertise and ideas to help us communicate our work and challenge stigma around drug and alcohol use
  • We’ll ensure you get the support you need to thrive and succeed in your role and find your place amongst our incredible and collaborative team

The Role

The Marketing team plays a key role in helping Phoenix Futures communicate its work, raise awareness, challenge stigma and connect people with our services and support.

As Brand and Content Manager, you’ll work across the organisation, collaborating with colleagues at all levels to develop engaging and effective communications. You’ll work particularly closely with senior stakeholders and teams across Phoenix to understand their communication needs and turn ideas and objectives into clear, compelling content.

You’ll be part of a passionate and collaborative Marketing team, with the opportunity to influence how Phoenix Futures’ brand and communications develop across the organisation.

The role is based on a hybrid London and home-working arrangement, with opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues across Phoenix Futures.

Interview Process

If shortlisted, you will be contacted for a short digital interview via Microsoft Teams, approximately week commencing 14th September, and will be provided with full details about the assessment process.

As part of the selection process, candidates will be asked to present their portfolio of work demonstrating their relevant skills, experience and impact.

All details will be provided in advance so that you can feel adequately prepared and we can support you with reasonable adjustments as required.

Please note, we will be assessing applications as they are submitted and may close this role should we find sufficient applicants with which to make our shortlist. As such, we would advise applying as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
