About the role
The Customer Insight and Analysis team champions insight-led decision-making at British Heart Foundation (BHF). As our Research Manager, you will act as a strategic insight partner to teams across BHF including brand and marketing, fundraising, retail and medical. You will play a vital role delivering insight that directly informs strategic and operational decisions, such as by helping colleagues access the insight they need to grow, innovate and improve our products and services.
You will lead a wide variety of research projects end-to-end, including designing research approaches and materials, conducting fieldwork and analysis, and delivering findings. Your work will ensure insights are accessible, actionable, and drive effective decision making. You will manage both in-house and outsourced quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods projects, with responsibility for stakeholder engagement, procurement and quality assurance.

You have led research across a range of business functions and are confident designing research approaches and materials to meet complex insight needs for stakeholders at all levels.

Working Arrangements
We are recruiting two roles: one permanent and one 12-month fixed term contract.

Interview process

Your key contributions
Programme

Outreach
· Driving RF’s Outreach strategy in order to build and enhance visibility and recognition of RF and connect with young people who could benefit from our support
· Managing referral partner relationships across London (including schools, hospitals, young carer services and others), nurturing existing relationships and building new partnerships
· Organising events that inspire referrals to RF including delivering school assemblies, presenting at meetings and taking other external visits as required

Location: Both Face to Face and Remote, London-based with occasional travel. Coworking office Space in Brixton.
Days and Hours: 0.4FTE, 2 days a week (15 hours/week), Flexible hours, availability to work from the office on Wednesdays, when the core team and young people work at our coworking space in Brixton. Ideally, the working pattern would be Wednesdays and Fridays.

About Breadwinners
Breadwinners is a multi-award-winning social enterprise and charity that supports young people seeking asylum and refugees to have their first work experience in the UK, selling organic baked goods. Since 2016, we have steadily grown, and we are looking for our first Senior Fundraising Manager to help us take the next step in our growth journey. Breadwinner's unique model provides work, training and personal mentors, so that young refugees can start and progress in their careers, using our platform as a stepping stone. We achieve this goal through three consecutive programmes, using our award-winning bread stalls in markets across London and Brighton and wholesale for socially-minded cafes and restaurants.
Over the last 7 years, we have made a significant impact in supporting over 744+ programme participants, with an impressive 93% reporting notable improvements in their overall well-being, 76% of our Breadwinners programme participants progress into work, further education or volunteering, and all this while minimising our Carbon Footprint by 20.5% through the sale of organic goods. This year, we are planning to double our impact with young refugees, with recently secured funding, new markets, and a focus on our wholesale model.

Risers programme: A two-month early intervention programme designed to provide structured work experience, training, and mentorship to newly arrived young people seeking asylum through our 18 stalls.

Breadwinners programme: The follow-up programme for refugees with the right to work, which involves working as a market stall manager for six months and earning the UK living wage.

Proofers programme: A progression programme that entails working remotely as part-time online sales representatives for six months, managing our wholesale delivery model.
We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young refugees and people seeking asylum. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a strong sense of purpose. You will be working directly with the Managing Director, forming a team with a part-time Fundraising Manager, in direct contact with our passionate Core team, Board of Trustees and volunteers to secure grant funding, and develop our corporate and major donors streams. You will help to drive the growth of Breadwinners and enable the team to deliver a bigger positive impact for young refugees new to the UK.

Responsibilities
Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

Identify and research new funding opportunities to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.

Write and develop compelling funding proposals for both new and existing trust and foundation partners.

Lead on securing six-figure grants for the forthcoming year, working closely with a part-time Fundraising Manager and the Managing Director.

Collaborate with the Programmes team to create engaging donor reports and impactful communications that reflect the voices of young refugees and our wider community.

Prepare clear, strategic briefings for senior colleagues ahead of meetings with funders and key stakeholders.

Produce detailed and accurate impact and financial reports for the Board and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Developing the Corporate and Major Donors Stream

Help shape and grow Breadwinners’ Corporate and Major Donor fundraising streams.

What you’ll be doing …
The post-holder will serve as social media manager, overseeing the Society’s social media accounts, and contributing to the maintenance and effectiveness of the Society’s other key digital communications channels such as our newsletter and website. They will support the Society’s Web Manager with content sourcing and webpage creation for the Geological Society’s website and newsletter, sent to around 11,000 subscribers.
Overall responsibilities / requirements …
The post-holder will be responsible for implementing the Society’s broader communications strategy, and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop communications outputs that further the Society’s mission and ensure communications content is current, coherent and comprehensive.
The Digital Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering dynamic digital content to inform, engage, and motivate diverse audiences, helping to raise awareness of the Geological Society’s work. The role will ensure a consistent voice across social media, websites, and email communications to enhance visibility, strengthen member and stakeholder engagement.
Social Media
- Act as Social Media Manager – leading on oversight of the Society’s social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn) – with responsibility for implementing our social media strategy in line with the Society’s wider
- communications strategy.
- Leading on daily activity across social media platforms, identifying and proactively pursuing opportunities for storytelling and engagement.
- Managing quality and consistency of content created by the Society’s wider social media contributors' group.

- Manage contributions and edit material for the Society’s email newsletters.

Campaigns and content creation
- Creation of engaging, accessible, innovative and inclusive digital content to promote The Geological Society activity such as social media campaigns, news posts, articles, case studies, infographics, images, videos and blogs.
- Filming, photographing, creating, and scheduling organic and paid digital media content to increase our reach and build influence on digital platforms.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to communicate impactful, person-centred stories from across the geoscience community, including supporting the wider Society staff team and stakeholders with a variety of digital content projects.
- Source and manage images and produce graphics in accordance with Society branding and relevant permissions requirements for use across digital media.

- Proven experience of working with digital communications channels, including managing and sourcing of content for social media.

About the role:

The Head of Membership provides leadership to the Cobseo office team and Executive Committee on all membership matters. As a member of the small Cobseo office team, the Head of Membership, along with the other members of the office team, is expected to lean into issues, opportunities, and workstreams that arise, sometimes at short notice and occasionally outside of their own portfolio.
This role is full time (34.5 hours per week) and is office-based in London for at least 2 days per week in order to facilitate positive relationships with the rest of the team and with stakeholders. There is an option for hybrid/homeworking the rest of the week. In addition, you will also play a key role in advancing our income generation from businesses and contribute to the development of our events and funder communications.

Your role will include:

Securing funding for diverse aspects of our work against Hubbub’s annual fundraising target, from core costs to specific roles, to scaling successful projects.

Contributing to the growth of the Trusts fundraising pipeline, nurturing new relationships with both solicited and unsolicited prospects, and supporting colleagues to do the same.

Working closely with Project Leads and Directors to deliver engaging and persuasive trusts and statutory proposals that expertly match funding criteria to Hubbub’s projects and priorities.

Identifying external networking opportunities for yourself and the wider team to increase our visibility amongst potential funders and build new relationships.

Undertaking regular prospect research to identify new Trusts that align with Hubbub’s strategy, focus areas and projects

Strengthening existing Trusts relationships by showcasing our impact through timely reporting, and delivering donor stewardship to high standards.

Updating our funder database (Pipedrive), with relevant funder information in a timely manner.

Keeping up with environmental and philanthropic developments and trends so you can join the dots between the urgent environmental challenges that we face, the sustainability ambitions of funders and our own strategic objectives.

You will also be expected to join in-person funder meetings whenever required, likely in and around London.
You will also support:

The wider team to secure income from businesses. This will involve developing introduction decks, employee engagement offerings, client proposals and more.

Hubbub events by contributing to ideas, compiling invitee lists, and drafting invitations.

A variety of other activities that will support our income generation when required.
Who you are

You’re motivated and ambitious, with a tenacity to work towards targets. You will likely have contributed to and secured 5-6 figure grants from Trusts and statutory bodies. You’re open to taking risks and learning from failure.

You’re an excellent bid writer and enjoy converting complex projects into winning proposals with funders’ motivations and criteria in mind.

Your relationship building skills are top-notch, both virtual and IRL. You’re confident developing new funder relationships from scratch, whilst nurturing existing ones. You enjoy getting away from your desk and finding opportunities to network.

You have a deep understanding of how trusts and foundations work and are open to sharing your knowledge with colleagues.

You’re collaborative and able to work across all levels of an organisation, managing up and down when needed, to produce high quality bids on time and on budget.

You’ll enjoy researching and prioritising new Trusts funders to approach.

It would be a bonus if you have experience fundraising from businesses and/or high net worth individuals, plus utilising a CRM system to not just track deals but identify useful insights.
