Skills Development Training is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged and underrepresented young people by providing skills training, creative opportunities, mentoring, and pathways into employment and further education.

The Role

As our Volunteer Fundraising & Partnerships Officer, you will play a key role in helping us secure the funding needed to expand our impact.

You will have the opportunity to develop and implement creative fundraising ideas while building meaningful relationships with businesses, community groups, and individual supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative fundraising campaigns and ideas.
• Identify new fundraising opportunities and income streams.
• Approach local and national businesses for sponsorship and corporate donations.
• Build relationships with corporate partners and community organisations.
• Research charitable trusts, foundations, and grant opportunities.
• Support online fundraising campaigns and digital donation initiatives.
• Promote fundraising activities through social media and online platforms.
• Help organise fundraising events and community initiatives.
• Encourage regular giving and supporter engagement.
• Work alongside the charity's leadership team to develop long-term fundraising strategies.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Is passionate about supporting disadvantaged young people.
• Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Is creative, proactive, and full of ideas.
• Enjoys networking and engaging with businesses and communities.
• Can work independently and take initiative.
• Has an interest in fundraising, sales, business development, marketing, or partnerships (experience is welcome but not essential).
• Is confident using email, social media, and online research tools.

Role Summary

As a Graphic Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of Roots Academy Canada. From designing educational resources and social media assets to crafting digital campaigns and event materials, your work will ensure our content reflects ihsan (excellence), clarity, and spiritual depth. You will help bring Islamic learning to life through purposeful, polished, and impactful design.

Key tasks

• Design Development: Create visually compelling graphics for use across social media, email, web, presentations, and print

• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual materials align with Roots Academy’s brand guidelines and Islamic values

• Content Support: Collaborate with the social media and education teams to translate ideas and scripts into polished, engaging visuals

• Campaign Assets: Support event and program launches by designing posters, promo kits, and other visual collateral

• Template Creation: Build easy-to-edit templates for internal teams to use (e.g., Canva or Google Slides)

• Revision & Feedback: Adapt designs based on team feedback while maintaining efficiency and quality

• Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on design and content trends, especially within the faith-based and youth development space

• Project Management: Maintain organized design files and deliver work in a timely manner

What we’re looking for

• Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, clarity, and alignment with brand guidelines

• Experience using tools like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy

• Ability to take direction while contributing creative input

• A deep understanding of Islamic values and visual modesty in design

• Experience designing for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)

• Excellent communication and time-management skills

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Key Stage 3 English tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses.

What will you be doing? 

Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person for one hour per week

Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS3 English

Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions. 

Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

1. Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of KS3 English concepts and specifications.
2. Teaching Skills: Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.
3. Empathy and Patience: Kind and understanding nature, especially towards those facing health challenges.
4. Reliability: Consistent availability for the agreed-upon time commitment.
5. Adherence to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team
