Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Senior Digital Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF, as part of the digital and marketing team. 

You will build our reach by ensuring our website is search engine optimised and will champion optimisation with all content providers across the organisation. You will build landing pages and microsites for fundraising campaigns across various platforms, complete user experience research to develop compelling user journeys and will evaluate the performance of our digital channels. Occasionally, you will also support JDRF’s paid media campaigns. 

An experienced digital professional, you may have worked for a charity before in a similar role. You will be motivated by the latest digital trends and will be familiar with a variety of digital channels. You will be ever-curious, always seeking to improve your skills and adopt new approaches.

• Using website content management systems and other platforms

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

About the Role:
The Climate and Environment Lead is a leadership position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team. The Climate and Environment Lead is accountable for the strategic development and effective delivery of the core team responsibilities on climate resilience and environmental sustainability for high quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, incorporating WaterAid's and the sector's leading practices, innovations and methods.

Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he leads the provision of high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

She/he is held account for the integrity and effective delivery of the technical advice and services. She/he is seen as a thematic authority and is expected to effectively handle the most challenging technical assignments. With a strong understanding of organisational dynamics and ways of working, the Lead advisor is expected to bridge gaps and siloes, proactively establishing and maintaining relationships with colleagues across WaterAid and beyond, and facilitating joined-up and comprehensive efforts to advance WaterAid's programming globally.

About You:

• Substantial technical experience in climate science, climate adaptation, resilience, environmental sustainability, environmental impact assessment and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• Strong technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, water, sanitation, health, hygiene, behaviour change, gender, inclusion, and/or other WASH-related topics.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven ability in leadership and strategic thinking.
• Substantial experience and success in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Strong ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting needs of diverse audiences.
• Organised and efficient. Demonstrated ability to drive tasks forward to completion in a timely manner while maintaining high quality.
• A team player, able to work responsibly, under pressure, and collaboratively across diverse groups and culture
• Working style that reflects WaterAid's values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
• Solid IT skills, particularly with core Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Working knowledge in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or any language widely spoken in the countries where WaterAid is programming.

We are seeking to recruit a On The Water Project Assistant to join our team based in London, on a full time, 11 week fixed term contract, starting on 8 July 2024. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £27,250 per annum, pro rata.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

The On The Water Project Assistant role:

The On The Water Project Assistant will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in Birmingham. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organized, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.

Responsibilities as our On The Water Project Assistant will include:.

• The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
• Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing
• Making new and repeat bookings
• Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets
• Managing a waiting list and reducing drop-outs
• Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants alongside the Boat Station staff
• Ensuring that participants complete surveys to share their experience of the project and encourage adults to feedback on their young people’s experience
• Attending any meetings as required by the project
• Assisting with the evaluation of the On The Water project

Requirements needed to become our On The Water Project Assistant:

• Previous experience of working with volunteers
• Experience in a customer facing role
• Experience working with young people
• Experience working with diverse community groups or working in outreach
• Experience of tracking targets and managing data
• Self-motivated and able to manage your time and workload effectively

• You will have substantive experience in providing immigration advice and casework, with the relevant Level 2 OISC qualification (or OISC level 1 working towards Level 2). Please note only candidates with the relevant OISC qualification and legal experience will be considered.

• You will have experience of working jointly with other agencies and building strong, effective partnerships internally and externally.
