The role of CEO at Emerge is full of opportunity and potential. It is varied and at times complex, requiring a person of integrity, person centred leadership skills and responsibility.
As a Christian organisation (as stated in our registered charity objectives) we require our CEO to have a Christian faith whose theology is worked out in their day-to-day life – professionally and personally. They must be a leader of integrity and compassion for young people, team members and the communities we serve and be committed to learning and growing personally so they are well placed to enable the same for others.

We are looking for someone who:
· Has significant experience of leading organisations, projects and people, and is therefore able to articulate vision, design and deliver a strategy and lead an experienced staff team.
· Has a big heart – full of compassion for young people and evidenced commitment to engage those who find themselves marginalised.
· Has an active Christian faith evidenced in clear theology, thinking and practice.
· Has established youth sector and voluntary sector experience and therefore understands deeply the challenges young people face in our communities and our city.
· Is a leader with experience of training staff and delegating effectively to enable others to grow their skills and abilities.
· Can clearly understand and work with finances – setting and controlling budgets and working diligently and creatively to ensure continued financial sustainability.
· Is confident in representing Emerge externally, networking across various sectors, maintaining and developing new partnerships, writing reports and public documents and being our champion in every context.
· Has experience of overseeing the legal requirements of running an organisation, employing staff and running an effective charity.
· Has robust knowledge of safeguarding issues as evidenced by current training and qualification (DBS etc.)
We recognise that not every candidate interested in this role will have the full breadth of experience, knowledge and skills we outline in the job description and person specification on the following pages. We are therefore interested in hearing from people who feel they meet most of the criteria and clearly share our faith, values and vision strongly enough to lead the organisation.
The majority of the role fits within a standard working day, but it will involve some evening working, and occasional weekend work recognised through an informal time in lieu process. There is some scope to work at home occasionally but youth work and leading a youth work charity mainly requires your regular presence in our offices and venues.

Research and Impact Data
This is a key role in the Freedom Fund’s Research & Evaluation team, playing a key role in measuring the real-world impact of anti-slavery initiatives across the globe. Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding approaches and workforce training pitches, through to successfully managing relationships with corporate partners.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in researching and developing prospect lists for priority industries and implementing new business campaigns which will secure multi-year high value partnerships, both for workplace training and donations
- Experience of selling training programmes to businesses
- Experience in developing engaging and impactful partnership proposals and training propositions
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels
The main purposes of the Development Officer role are:
- Working with the Development team to collectively achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding £2m per year
- Selling workplace training and donation opportunities to corporate partners across a range of industries, but in particular the legal and financial services sectors
- Supporting the CEO and Development Director to increase Tender’s workplace training delivery in order to achieve income targets through sales

The Senior Marketing & Communications Officer will play a key role in delivering our marketing, communications and fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Senior Manager, you will:
- Develop and implement targeted marketing plans to promote our wellbeing focused services and grow awareness of our work.
- Lead the creation of compelling digital and print content, including video production and editing.
- Manage our social media channels, delivering engaging and impactful campaigns.
- Enhance our website’s content and functionality, using analytics to measure and improve performance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to amplify our mission, strengthen relationships with supporters and foster new partnerships.
- Support press and media interactions, developing stories to highlight our impact.
- Contribute to wellbeing and fundraising campaigns to drive engagement and income.
- Support coordination and attendance at pharmacy events across the country.
What we’re looking for:

- At least three years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally within the charity sector.
- Proven expertise in content creation, social media management and digital marketing tools.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) and design platforms like Canva and InDesign.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in website management (e.g., WordPress) and data analysis to drive performance improvements.
- A passion for storytelling and generating media coverage to highlight impactful work.

Advocacy Coordinator
Location: London (Hybrid - at least 2 days per week in the office)
Would you like to use your understanding of politics and political advocacy, and your relationship-building skills, to tackle injustice? Can you bring people together to work for change? We are seeking to recruit an Advocacy Coordinator to develop and coordinate the delivery of influencing strategies around the identified public policy priorities of the Methodist Church and the Joint Public Issues Team. In recent years these have includes issues around poverty, refugees and migration, the environment, the economy, peace and conflict, and politics.
About you
You’ll need to bring experience of coordinating campaigns or political advocacy initiatives and an understanding of different methods of working for policy change. You’ll need a good understanding of UK politics and of the context for public policy development, and to be a great communicator. You should be sympathetic to the mission of the Methodist Church, and share our commitment to seeking justice and to issues of equality, diversity and inclusion.
You would be working as part of the ecumenical Joint Public Issues Team, which brings together the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches, plus associate partners, to work together for peace and justice. It does this through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. The work is varied and often demanding, but it is a supportive, friendly, and highly collaborative team, where people contribute different skills and gifts to our shared purpose.

Main Purpose of the Role
The Director is the strategic and operational lead of NRTF, responsible for the organisation’s vision, management, performance, and long-term sustainability. They ensure delivery against NRTF’s mission and business plan, champion rural touring at a national level, and act as the primary liaison with Arts Council England, stakeholders, and the wider sector. Working closely with a proactive Board of Trustees, the Director provides leadership on governance and compliance in line with UK Charity Law and NRTF’s Articles of Association, ensuring the organisation operates with transparency, accountability and good practice. The Director is a visible ambassador for rural touring, building strong relationships across the cultural sector, advocating for members, and promoting the role of rural touring in ensuring that creativity and culture thrive in every community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
● Lead and implement NRTF’s Business Plan and strategic objectives.
● Oversee the delivery and evaluation of all funded programmes and initiatives.
● Develop and sustain relationships with our members, including the rural touring schemes, national and regional stakeholders, funders, and policy-makers.
● Ensure alignment with ACE’s Investment Principles and “Let’s Create” strategy.
● Ensure long-term sustainability through innovation, partnerships, and appropriate diversification, ensuring the organisation remains relevant and forward-thinking.
Finance and Fundraising
● Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting in collaboration with the Finance Officer and Treasurer.
● Ensure ACE and funder reporting is accurate and timely.
● Lead on developing new funding opportunities, working with colleagues and freelance support to secure income from trusts, foundations and diversification streams.
Membership and Sector Support
● Foster strong relationships with membership, particularly scheme members.
● Understand and respond to member needs, ensuring services and benefits are relevant.
● Foster a strong member community through events, forums, and networking opportunities.
● Together with the NRTF team, design and deliver initiatives to grow, engage, and retain members.

● Foster partnerships with schemes and sector organisations to co-create and deliver events and projects that serve members and raise the profile of rural touring.
Communications and Advocacy
● Provide strategic leadership for NRTF’s communications and advocacy, ensuring consistency of voice and alignment with the business plan.
● Lead sector advocacy and act as spokesperson and ambassador for rural touring.
● Maintain and develop national visibility for rural touring through partnerships, media opportunities and press engagement (with support from NRTF’s freelance press agency).
● Oversee delivery of marketing and communications, working with the Marketing & Digital Coordinator to manage campaigns, content and social media.
● Build strategic partnerships with other organisations, funders, and influencers.
HR and Operations
● Lead on recruitment, contracting, staff management, and HR policy implementation.
● Line-manage employed staff, ensuring fair and effective working conditions.
● Manage Contracts for Services for freelance teams and contractors
● Maintain organisational infrastructure, including IT, office resources.
Governance and Legal
● Support and develop the Board of Trustees, ensuring sound governance practices.

Role Summary
Our Communications Officer plays a key role in our central Communications team, working collaboratively with colleagues to create impactful messages which are consistent, clear and well-framed. Through this work, you’ll support thousands of people across three key work programmes – Behaviour Change, Culture Shift and Information and Advice. You’ll have a particular focus on supporting people to share their experiences by working empathetically to gather and develop a diverse range of compelling personal stories on alcohol and alcohol harm, and working with colleagues to bring them to life across our channels. You will have responsibility for wider tasks across the team, including monitoring inboxes, creating reports and supporting colleagues flexibly, particularly during busier campaign periods.
