Terms & Conditions:
Location: Can be remote or based in London or Manchester. Must be able to regularly attend all day meetings in London and to travel extensively in England

Salary: £25029 per annum, actual salary (FTE £41705). If based in London: £27423 per annum, actual salary (FTE £45705, inclusive of London weighting)

The Supporter Engagement Manager is responsible for acquisition campaigns including regular giving, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, legacy’s; retention campaigns including ongoing stewardship to increase supporter engagement. This role is perfect for a creative, data driven fundraiser who can lead the development and delivery of mass acquisition and retention programmes and collaborate across the organisation to embed legacy and in-memory giving into everything we do, from supporter touchpoints to wider organisational culture.

This is a hybrid role with two days a week in the London office.
The Charity
A passionate charity whos aims are to create access to world-leading healthcare, delivered by a thriving workforce and driven by medical research that has a global impact. They have a Fundraising team of approx 20 people securing c4m last year.
You will be joining an ambitious organisation, known for its collaborative and supportive working culture, offering competitive benefits in a range of areas including holiday, sick pay, flexible working and pension scheme.
The Role
Lead and deliver a mid-level giving retention and recruitment strategy, for donors giving between 1,000 and 50,000 to the charity each year, working with colleagues and senior volunteers to understand potential opportunities for uplift in giving.
Manage the day-to-day delivery of mid-level donor activities, including tracking renewal cycles, supporting donor journeys, and responding to enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Support the development and delivery of engaging events, and bespoke communications including personalised letters, invitations, proposals, and thank-you communications, ensuring mid-level donors feel valued and connected to the impact of their giving.
Ensure that mid-level donors have the best possible experience of giving to the charity, by engaging with colleagues on the development of appeals to this audience, stewarding those giving at this level, and attracting new supporters
Work with the public fundraising team to thank mid-level donors to fundraising appeals, creating updates and reports, and providing an excellent supporter experience to maximise the opportunity for a longer-term relationship beyond specific appeals.
Support the fundraising activities of the wider philanthropy & campaigns team through identifying donors who may give major gifts or be interested in legacy giving.
The Candidate
Experience in fundraising and donor development delivering an excellent service on the phone, in person, and in written communications.
Experience of creating high quality written documents, such as tailored letters, proposals, slide decks, or other professional materials.

Shelter is looking for a new High Value Events Senior Manager within our High Value Partnerships (HVP) team to develop and lead an inspiring events programme to give high value supporters across England and Scotland an outstanding supporter experience and ultimately drive generosity to power Shelter’s fight for home.
About the role
Working across HVP and beyond, you will ensure events are seamlessly designed and delivered, translating organisational plans into imaginative cultivation and stewardship events to inspire donors and strengthen long-term relationships. You will also ensure that our events are continuously evaluated and improved, to help support ambitious growth targets.
You will work in partnership with all other HVP teams to provide expert advice and creative direction, ensuring events play a central part in high value donor journeys. This role also requires collaboration with key stakeholders at all levels across Shelter’s directorates including Services, Campaigns, Policy and Communications and Finance. Line-managing and coaching the Events Manager will be a key part of your role, enabling them to succeed to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for our supporters.
You will also champion best practice through refining systems, processes and ways of working, ensuring smooth coordination across teams and with external partners.
About you
You’re a skilled events and fundraising professional with hands-on experience managing programmes, leading teams and delivering impactful communications. You have a comprehensive understanding of high-value fundraising and know how to engage with supporters through relationship building. You will bring strong project management skills to the role and be confident in managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
