The main purpose of the job is to support the Conference and Events Manager with the conference. You will additionally provide administrative support to the office for the database.
This position reports to BERA’s Conference and Events Manager.
Working with colleagues to support BERA’s meetings or events
- Supporting the Conference and Events Manager on BERA’s flagship annual conference (over 900 delegates), including administration, promotion, scheduling, abstract submission, programming, delegate registrations and the smooth running of the event itself
- Supporting queries and updates on the abstract management system.
- Managing author submissions to ensure their needs are identified and met within agreed arrangements
- Assisting with the peer review system for abstracts to be reviewed and pursuing reviewers
- Supporting the Conference and Events Manager building the programme in the abstract management system
- Supervising delegate liaison to ensure their needs are identified and met within agreed arrangements.
- Assisting the with conference awards administration including collating applications and scores from judges
- Assisting with the development of the mobile app with an external provider that all information is effectively transferred
- Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery
- Managing liaison with speakers and other participants.
- Facilitating with the management of the conference onsite
- Producing after conference reports, certificates, data, administration wrap up
- Working with both the Conference and Events Manager and the Membership & Engagement Manager to assist BERA’s overall events programme
- Supporting the Membership & Engagement Manager with running the virtual SIG (Special Interest Groups) Forum Meetings, including setting these up, advertising and attending and taking notes during the meeting
Other duties and general responsibilities
- Producing and drafting correspondence, reports and other documents as required
- Testing new developments on the CRM system and upgrade of the website in relation to the Conference
- Acting as first point of call for event enquiries, responding, filtering and referring as appropriate
- Providing support to the Events and Membership Team in absences and on an ad hoc basis
- Undertaking general clerical and other such duties as may reasonably be required, including providing ad hoc secretarial support for other managers as required

Our Activity Service
The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service.

About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager (SSPM), the Strategic Partnerships Manager (SPM) is a member of the partnerships team, situated in the London office. The business development team aims to expand Contact’s reach to parent carers and practitioners by exploring opportunities for new projects, partnerships, commissions and paid for content including webinars, workshops and training. The Business Development Co-ordinator reports to the Business Development Operations Manager and is the linchpin for our business development programmes. You will be responsible for setting up events online and face to face, contacting trainers, taking bookings and supporting with promotion; making sure the support and content made available to families is kept up to date. The role also involves updating our CRM database, making sure invoices are raised and paid and collating information for reports from the database or Excel.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who has excellent IT and digital skills, ideally with experience of online event systems such as Eventbrite and Zoom, a good knowledge of Excel and experience using a CRM database. Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.
The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations

Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;

Role Responsibilities
- Lead digital donor acquisition activities and journeys across a variety of channels including paid social, paid search, display, email and telemarketing.
