Job Purpose
BSR education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities.
This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Events and Education Manager, Event Executive and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and digital learning activities. You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board.
This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.
Main Responsibilties
Event & Course Management
- Lead on course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
- Support course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
- Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
- Occasional travel, including attendance and overnight stays at BSR conferences, courses and events.
Systems & Data Management
- Oversee the team’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and registration systems, ensuring data integrity, implementing system enhancements, coordinating stakeholders, and carrying out testing.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
- Coordinate the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
- Coordinate CPD accreditation of educational activities.
- Support the delivery of digital sponsorship and educational partnership opportunities.
Marketing & Communications
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create digital content to engage target audiences.
General Duties
- Manage events inbox and education team enquiries, delivering excellent customer service.
- Input into education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for owned projects.
- Support with BSR Committee liaison and logistics.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Events and Education Manager.

What the job involves
We're on the lookout for a motivated Direct Marketing professional to bring their skills to our Individual Giving Team, with a focus on retention campaigns.
Direct Marketing plays an important role in the Charity’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and ongoing development of our current retention programme.
You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to our warm audiences; newly recruited and existing cash supporters and regular givers with the aim of strengthening loyalty and increasing their lifetime value.
With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage existing direct marketing campaigns in the form of direct mail appeals, emails, telemarketing and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently analyse KPIs and make evidence-based decisions to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.
What we want from you
Aside from excellent knowledge and experience of working in a direct marketing environment, which includes developing and implementing retention focused direct marketing campaigns, you’ll also have a range of channel experience and marketing knowledge.
You’ll possess first class communication skills, a strong team ethic and you’ll be at ease working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marking and fundraising law would be advantageous.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Corporate Community Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated fundraising strategies that engage corporate partners and communities at local, regional and national levels. Working collaboratively with RABI’s Philanthropy and Partnerships team, this pivotal role will involve cultivating meaningful relationships with key stakeholders to increase income to support RABI’s purpose, strengthening relationships across the business sector and rural communities.
With a strong emphasis on relationship management and supporter stewardship, the Corporate Community Fundraiser will play a key role in shaping and developing sponsorship packages and offers, ensuring they are attractive and aligned with the interests of corporate partners and RABI’s fundraising goals.
This will involve helping tailor sponsorship opportunities for committee events, campaigns and initiatives that not only drive engagement but also maximise financial support.
In addition to developing corporate partnerships, the Corporate Community Fundraiser will be responsible for training and equipping regional volunteers (committee members and non-committee members) to identify and engage local corporate supporters, ensuring alignment with RABI’s broader corporate fundraising strategy. Supported by both centralised resources and volunteers, this role will play a crucial role in helping RABI achieve its ambitious five-year fundraising goal of £10 million.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Regional and Local Corporate Partnerships: Build and manage strong relationships with regional and local corporate partners and businesses to drive fundraising support. Identify and secure new partnerships to expand our donor base.
- Fundraising Strategy: Design and execute community-focused fundraising initiatives, including corporate sponsorships. Collaborate with the team to develop short and long-term fundraising goals.
- Event Planning and Execution: Plan and oversee fundraising events (e.g. agriculture show raffles/competitions, supporter-led, community and corporate) that engage corporate partners, their employees and the wider community. Work closely with the events lead, volunteers, committees, and regional teams to secure sponsorships, in-kind goods and services and local business support.
- Corporate Giving Programmes: Develop and promote programmes that encourage corporate involvement, such as matching gifts, employee volunteering (with support from Volunteering) and workplace giving initiatives.
- Outreach and Communication: Regularly engage with both local and regional corporate partners and community organisations through tailored communications, presentations and reports. Keep them informed of the impact of their contributions.
- Budget and Financial Management: Help coordinate the fundraising budget for corporate initiatives and ensure resources are used efficiently to meet fundraising goals.
- Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on the success of corporate partnerships. Analyse results to improve future strategies and share progress with internal stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments (Marketing and Communications, Service Delivery, Volunteering and Finance, etc.) to align community fundraising efforts with RABI’s overall purpose and goals.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Proven experience in corporate or community fundraising within the charity sector.
- Demonstrated success in securing and nurturing successful corporate partnerships.
- Financial awareness and planning with ability to develop and manage project-level budgets.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, equipped with the skills to engage and inspire a wide range of supporters, stakeholders and volunteers.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple fundraising activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and digital fundraising platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
- Understanding of fundraising regulations, GDPR and best practices in corporate fundraising.

Desirable:

The Partnership Activation Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for a variety of Factory International’s Corporate Partners, nurturing strong relationships and ensuring optimal value through exceptional account management and delivery of all rights and benefits outlined in our partnership agreements. Responsibilities include managing multiple partnerships, coordinating events and activations, facilitating ticket bookings and creating tailored hospitality packages. Role Summary
Our Communications Officer plays a key role in our central Communications team, working collaboratively with colleagues to create impactful messages which are consistent, clear and well-framed. Through this work, you’ll support thousands of people across three key work programmes – Behaviour Change, Culture Shift and Information and Advice. You’ll have a particular focus on supporting people to share their experiences by working empathetically to gather and develop a diverse range of compelling personal stories on alcohol and alcohol harm, and working with colleagues to bring them to life across our channels. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the Senior Communications Manager with messaging across emails, our website and other digital channels. You will have responsibility for wider tasks across the team, including monitoring inboxes, creating reports and supporting colleagues flexibly, particularly during busier campaign periods.

About the role
