As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
4. Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise

This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Analyst and collaborating closely with our Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will help to ensure that FareShare has a robust impact and evaluation framework and deliver research projects that are able to clearly articulate and demonstrate the social and environmental outcomes of its work.

This role is central to an evidence-based culture and embedding evaluation into service development and delivery across our service. You will help shape the future of the charity by working with colleagues across FareShare, ensuring that impact and evaluation insights are used to drive service improvement and innovation. You will be supporting qualitative and quantitative research projects across key stakeholders and provide insight for our Marketing and Public Affairs work.

You will ensure that all outputs are brought to life and communicated across both internal and external communications channels to deliver compelling narratives which highlight the social and environmental impact of FareShare’s work. Ultimately, helping to deliver more food to FareShare’s charity beneficiaries.

This is an exciting time to join FareShare as it has gone through tremendous growth and change. This role is critical in evidencing FareShare impact, through designing, developing, and implementing organisational wide monitoring, evaluation and learning initiatives. It also presents a unique opportunity to combine both social and environmental impact measurements.

Main areas of responsibility: We don’t need you to have experience in all these areas, we’ll train and support you in the role, but here is a flavour of what you’ll be doing day to day.

• Support Impact and Evaluation work across FareShare. This will include:

Reviewing and updating the Impact & Evaluation frameworks, including FareShare’s Theory of Change.

Developing measurement tools and support with measuring impact in a robust and consistent way, that’s informed by FareShare’s Theory of Change

Analysing data and providing meaningful data insights.

• Support FareShare’s Public Affairs and Policy function to ensure asks of government are well evidenced
• Collaborating cross-departmentally with marketing, public affairs, fundraising, FareShare’s ESG manager and with FareShare’s network of Regional Partners to design and implement impact measurement tools and engagingly communicate these
• To support the development and implementation of evaluation projects that will help FareShare in getting a better understanding of its’ community; their needs; and how to maximize the social value of its’ work, including FareShare’s Annual Impact Survey
• Helping in producing briefs and coordinating external evaluation project, including engaging with academia, managing relationship with universities and supporting research into the gap between waste and surplus related to health, such as FareShare’s Social Return on Investment research
• Producing high quality impact reports for internal and external stakeholders, including FareShare’s Annual Impact and Annual Report
• Analysing survey data, paired with research of wider context
• Summarise and disseminate complex information in a simple, accessible way to develop consistent sources of truth and share key information organisation wide
• Helping to improve Impact & Evaluation practices across FareShare, with a focus around environmental outcomes/impact to measure environmental impact in line with FareShare’s Theory of Change outcomes

Essential Criteria: These are things we really need you to have to succeed in this role. If you meet these criteria, we’d really like to hear from you.

1. 1-3 years’ experience of a similar role or working on Impact & Evaluation and research projects

2. In-depth knowledge and experience of impact measurement and evaluation methods, tools and techniques, such Theory of Change, logic models, quantitative and qualitative analysis, using evaluation frameworks

3. Experience analysing, interpreting and presenting internal data and contextual research into engaging insights for a variety of audiences

4. Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skills, such as report writing, stakeholder engagement, generating impact reports, presentations

5. Experience with project management and collaborating cross-departmentally to drive evaluation or research, such as co-designing impact measurement tools, conducting surveys, leading working groups

Overview of the Role:

We are looking to recruit a Prospect Research Executive to join our supportive and friendly team. The Prospect Research Executive will report into the Development Engagement Manager in a dynamic Fundraising team and will play an important part in building philanthropy at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), providing research to support fundraisers to make informed decisions to engage, cultivate and solicit gifts from prospects and peer to peer networks.

The RHS already has an enviable network of contacts supporting our work, but we need to expand our network of trusts and major donors to help fund our ambitious targets. You will provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the prospect pipeline with high-capacity prospects to meet current and future income targets.

In this role you will lead on researching both trusts and individuals, producing donor profiles, reports and biographies with great attention to detail, allowing fundraisers to make informed choices and maximise opportunities on a variety of fundraising activities. You will also be responsible for producing due diligence reports and have a working knowledge of GDPR best practice.

You will have a strong understanding of fundraising, together with experience of researching high net worth individuals, company directors, and or family trust and foundations boards, the ability to use a CRM database, along with a genuine desire to help us access some of the biggest funding sources available.

Experience we're after

• Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
• Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
• Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
• Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

About the role

This is a new role and sits in the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. The Fundraising and Digital function is responsible for all the charity’s fundraising, brand, website, social media, emails and lead generation campaigns. This role sits within the Public Fundraising Team, which secures donations from individuals signed up to our newsletters and individuals giving up to £5,000 per year, legators and regular givers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

• Working with the wider public fundraising team, support the development of plans and activity to manage a portfolio of acquisition, retention and stewardship campaigns including, but not limited to, gathering content, setting up landing pages, creating graphics and assets for digital content, designing ad content, as well as delivering email and social media communications and digital versions of our supporter newsletter.
• Provide digital support for each fundraising project from start to finish. Lead on creating segmented and tailored email journeys – source content and create briefs, liaise with suppliers, create and oversee data selections, exports and imports and manage sign off process.
• Manage our email welcome journey for e-news sign ups, and support on the development of other supporter journeys for a range of audiences across the team.
• Ensure continued communications and strong working relationships with the Direct Marketing Manager and Digital and Comms teams.
• Play an active role in coordinating digital communication plans across the organisation, working alongside the Direct Marketing Manager and Comms colleagues to suggest themes and content as well as creating/scheduling content as and when required.

Email Marketing

• Day-to-day management of the email marketing programme, including drafting, building and managing campaigns and automations, and managing audiences.
• Work with colleagues and draw on existing data to develop insights and understanding about our supporters. Use this information to develop content which is engaging, informative, and meets supporters’ needs.
• Provide support to the Public Fundraising team for all email content, and ensuring all content aligns with wider organisational goals and principles.
• Champion email marketing best practices across the organisation, providing advice and feedback to improve email engagement and effectiveness.

What the job involves

Our sector leading Events and Community fundraising team raises funds (circa £12M) for Prostate Cancer UK through a programme of Community, Sporting Events and Virtual Products, including our flagship walking event, March for Men. Since 2020 the team have experienced income growth of 35%, and we’re proud that our activity has been recognised across the sector, by featuring in the Massive Top 25 for five consecutive years.

Along with recruiting teams in events such as the TCS London Marathon, Great North Run and the London Landmarks Half Marathon, we also deliver two-charity owned cycling events, the Grand Depart Classic and the Big Blue Bike Ride.

In the role of Sporting Events Manager, you’ll lead on the growth strategy and delivery of our flagship walking event; March for Men, with a key focus on co-creating and delivering a robust marketing plan. You'll be accountable for the performance of the event, ensuring that all stakeholders meet their responsibilities and deadlines to drive fundraising income. Your other key focus will be managing and working with an external delivery partner to ensure the event is delivered to the highest possible standard.

In addition to the delivery of March for Men, you’ll support the Assistant Head of Events and Community Fundraising to ensure we maximise income from our Third-Party programme of walking, running and cycling activities, whilst line managing members of the team.

This role will cover all aspects from; developing a strategy, leading project meetings, setting budgets, creating marketing plans, organising event logistics, and delivering event weekend support. Alongside this, you’ll work with other teams within Prostate Cancer UK to support the full calendar of events, including our Partnerships fundraising and Volunteer Engagement team.

Working with our Communications directorate, you’ll ensure that we make the most of every opportunity, from promoting the events to warm and new audiences, identifying and building relationships with our key supporters, to ensuring a high proportion of event participants continue to support us after completing their event.

You’ll have experience working in a sporting events team with a background of leading with the delivery of large-scale events, covering aspects such as marketing, communications and event delivery. You’ll also have first-class communication skills and have the ability to motivate and inspire for our cause. Strong organisational skills will be combined with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work to tight deadlines.

We’re looking for an ambitious fundraiser to join our Philanthropy team, capitalising on recent growth and with the chance to really make your mark. What's the role?

Your role will be to design, build, grow and promote a database of organisations, who offer products and services to schools, which have been recommended to by our members.

How you’ll be driving our mission forward

• Research and map the education marketplace

  • Understand the challenges schools buy in services to solve

  • Learn about the different providers who exist to solve them

• Design, build and manage the database school service providers

  • Define and codify the data architecture which governs the database

  • Categorise the providers by type, objectives, buyers, beneficiaries and more

  • Use no code tools to build and operate the directory

• Produce top of funnel content to promote the database, which attracts schools and providers sign up and contribute to it

  • Set and manage schedules of promotional content

  • Write valuable, practical, sharable and engaging posts on LinkedIn and Twitter about the providers and the database

• Design and build the user experience and information flows

  • Map out users journeys (both schools and providers) through the directory experience

  • Design and write sign up forms so schools and providers can access the database

As Head of Business and Data systems you will lead every aspect of our data and information management across a portfolio of platforms. 

Working to ensure they speak to each other in smart and powerful ways, all offering team members and company the most up-to-date and high quality insight into the needs, priorities and challenges of members of the We Are In Beta community.

• Lead data management and consistency across all systems, including 

  • Automated and manual flows needed for business activities and reporting

• Develop our new newsletter platform - combining all channels into one place

  • Manage migration of current audiences

BACKGROUND 

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons.  Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.  

This is an exciting time at Magic Breakfast, as we have expanded our team to meet the challenge of ending morning hunger for now, and for good.

JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Service Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of our breakfast provision. As Engagement Partner, you will work with relevant partners (schools, local authorities, parents, parent councils) to ensure that breakfast provision is optimized, encouraging reach and providing education on relevant topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Pipeline development and cultivation:   

• To develop a relationship with the supported schools in their respective area, to enable, preserve, embed, enhance and extend stigma and barrier free breakfast pron.

• To educating and engage with the wider school community, including teachers, parents and children and young people on the importance of breakfast and implications of hunger as a barrier learning through various means including assemblies, staff meetings, online events and regional events throughout the academic year.

• To engage with the wider community to advocate for the importance of breakfast, the work that we are doing in existing schools and to support our campaigning and advocacy strategy and plans.

• To develop brand awareness in schools and local communities in line with our marketing strategy

• To support the recruitment of new schools with launching new breakfast provisions, adapting to the requirements of the school and children and young people, and advising on best practise

• To support any media requests as directed through the Policy & Engagement team

• To capture and report on “storytelling” to enable the organisation to utilise qualitative data to support external communication

• To explore, share and deliver on new engagement ideas across the department and organisation

• To enable, support and feedback on new ways of working, trials and innovations

The role will require irregular travel throughout the UK with minimal overnight stays. 

Contract type:  4 days / 28 hours per week term time only, although flexible hours may be considered. This role will involve early morning breakfast visits to schools or other establishments which you will need to be able to attend. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

BACKGROUND 

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons.  Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.  

This is an exciting time at Magic Breakfast, as we have expanded our team to meet the challenge of ending morning hunger for now, and for good.

JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Service Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of our breakfast provision. As Engagement Partner, you will work with relevant partners (schools, local authorities, parents, parent councils) to ensure that breakfast provision is optimized, encouraging reach and providing education on relevant topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Pipeline development and cultivation:   

• To develop a relationship with the supported schools in their respective area, to enable, preserve, embed, enhance and extend stigma and barrier free breakfast pron.

• To educating and engage with the wider school community, including teachers, parents and children and young people on the importance of breakfast and implications of hunger as a barrier learning through various means including assemblies, staff meetings, online events and regional events throughout the academic year.

• To engage with the wider community to advocate for the importance of breakfast, the work that we are doing in existing schools and to support our campaigning and advocacy strategy and plans.

• To develop brand awareness in schools and local communities in line with our marketing strategy

• To support the recruitment of new schools with launching new breakfast provisions, adapting to the requirements of the school and children and young people, and advising on best practise

• To support any media requests as directed through the Policy & Engagement team

• To capture and report on “storytelling” to enable the organisation to utilise qualitative data to support external communication

• To explore, share and deliver on new engagement ideas across the department and organisation

• To enable, support and feedback on new ways of working, trials and innovations

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Skills and abilities  

• Possess excellent communication skills, organisational skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

• High level of competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Salesforce or a similar CRM

• Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of the charity and education sector along with a commercial awareness.

• Good use of judgement in terms of when to escalate and when to delegate.  

• Confidence in using Microsoft Word IT packages.  

Knowledge and experience  

• Engagement with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, delivering presentations, assemblies, engagement events, both in person and online.

• Experience of customer support and an understanding and experience of influencing and making the case for change.

• Experience of working against targets.

• Working remotely with multiple customers and stakeholders.

• The proven ability to communicate messages confidently, engagingly and with impact across a variety of audiences.   

• Familiarity with the UK charity market and fundraising trends, techniques and best practice.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience managing multiple direct reports
• Strategic thinking ability and the capacity to execute plans swiftly and effectively
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and persuade donors and stakeholders
• Experience with digital fundraising techniques and CRM systems
