Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We’re looking for dedicated Community Engagement Volunteers to support Marie Curie’s outreach efforts across libraries in Solihull.
This is a unique opportunity to help raise awareness of the vital support services Marie Curie offers to people living with terminal illness and their families.
What you’ll be doing
As a Community Engagement Volunteer supporting libraries, you will:
- Take responsibility for 3 - 6 local libraries, depending on your location.
- Build positive relationships with library staff and engage with library users where appropriate.
- Share key information and offer a listening ear to others
- Monitor stock levels of Marie Curie information materials and top them up as needed.
- Amplify the voices of those affected by terminal illness and bereavement
- Record stock checks and activity using a simple Microsoft Office form and return it to the Community Engagement Team.
- Look out for additional opportunities within the library to share Marie Curie’s Information & Support resources

About Us
Whispaws Animal Sanctuary is a UK-based charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs and cats in Serbia. We provide veterinary care, rehabilitation, and adoption opportunities, and run sterilisation campaigns to reduce the street dog population. Our work also includes a street feeding campaign, ensuring that abandoned animals living outdoors receive regular food and care.
We are a small but passionate team, committed to improving animal welfare through hands-on rescue work, community outreach, and fundraising.
The Role
We are looking for reliable, proactive volunteers to join our team and support us with general administration, social media, and fundraising. You may choose to help in one area or across several, depending on your skills, interests, and availability. The work can be done remotely, although if you are based near Sevenoaks, Blackheath, or Chislehurst, there are opportunities to join our in-person fundraising events.

The Trustee will be able to combine personal humility with an urgency to achieve the mission of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and the drive to invest in ongoing organisational development. They will be able to demonstrate leadership and be able to unite and inspire our movement behind our collective vision.
Embodying the culture of The Wildlife Trusts, the Trustee will work with the Chair and the Board to advance and grow the reputation of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust as an organisation of excellence that can inspire collective leadership throughout its movement and beyond, in the wider world.
This can be a demanding, yet rewarding role, suited to someone who is able to navigate through complex relationships and communicate well at all levels. Being able to motivate and bring people on a journey is a must.

Last year 786,574 people were offered information and support from Victim Support. As a Service Delivery Volunteer you will provide specialist support services for people affected by crime.

Volunteering with Victim Support in West Midlands
As a Volunteer your role will include:
- Contacting services users to conduct a needs assessment, identifying service user needs and services to be delivered
- Deliver the appropriate services consisting of emotional and practical support
- Signpost to other organisations where needed, and complete onward referrals where consent has been obtained from the victim.
- Advocate for service users with other organisations where appropriate e.g. with the police, housing associations etc.
What do we ask of you?
In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or over.
- Be able to volunteer for at least 3 hours per week, for at least 12 months.
- Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes five virtual training days as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.
- Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.
- Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.
Expenses
- All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.
