We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our Horsham Y team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Safety and security

• Provide a friendly and professional front-of-house welcome to residents, visitors and staff, and ensure the building is safe, secure quiet and welcoming 
• Maximise the wellbeing of residents and visitors by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and house rules, all within the terms of tenancy agreements
• Assess and monitor the risks presented by residents to ensure they can keep themselves safe and, where possible, continue their development
• Record all incidents and accidents and share appropriately with the wider team, your manager and, if necessary, the central safeguarding team 

Engagement with residents

• Welcome residents home and provide informal and responsive support so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure resident’s views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought so they can play an active role in influencing the services they receive
• Proactively promote the services on offer and ensure residents are encouraged to engage with those services
• Contribute to, or support, evening groupwork activities so that residents can access tailored solutions that meet their needs, wishes and aspirations

Administration and housekeeping

• Undertake tasks as directed, including but not limited to: inputting data, assessments, reviews, case notes onto our client database and entering new residents details/closing ex-resident records
• Completing health and safety/compliance checks, and recording estate inspectors and room checks
• Adding maintenance requests to our property services system

General

• Work as part of a team, on a rota four on four off shift pattern, alongside another Housing Night Worker, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective at night, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

Experience and knowledge

• Demonstrated confidence and competence in recording notes/actions in service log, incident forms and Health and Safety check lists
• Basic knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to young people and/or vulnerable adults, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries (training provided)

Skills and abilities 

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate record keeping (vital for handover to colleagues working day shifts)
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships
• Ability to work lone work, work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team
• IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office 365 package, as well as healthy and safety and client management systems (training on YMCA DLG systems provided)
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately

Operations Assistant (Full Time – Office Based)  

Job Purpose:
The Operations Assistant provides support to the HR and Operations Manager by taking day to day responsibility, under guidance, for various facilities, safety and administrative processes, including HR administration, as well as responsiblity for locking/unlocking of meeting rooms, routine health and safety tasks and other matters that contribute to making the office a pleasant and functional environment in which to work.

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team of counsellors working remotely to support cancer patients being treated in the 14 GenesisCare centres across England.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective rapport and deliver therapeutic interventions via telephone or video link. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, intelligent, and creative way. Candidates should have experience of working as a counsellor within the NHS, charity sector or private practice, and have knowledge, experience/understanding of how cancer treatment can affect a patient’s health and wellbeing.

Key role considerations

• This role requires remote delivery of counselling sessions.
• Most of the patient work is based on a short-term relationship (4 sessions)

About the Role and the Service

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will play a key role in a new service to ensure unpaid carers in Milton Keynes are supported through a “no wrong door” approach.

Working as part of a partnership delivery hub with other local service provides, the postholder will provide person centred 1-2-1 support to carers of individuals living with mental health challenges and/or addictions. The Navigator will work flexibly offering face-to-face and telephone support to co-create wellbeing plans, strengthen resilience, and promote access to appropriate information, resources and services.

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will also identify opportunities for peer-led support by developing and facilitating peer group(s) empowering carers to share experiences and reduce social isolation.

The role will also contribute to wider awareness-raising of unpaid carers through initiatives such as National Carers Week and the celebration of carers in the community.

Highly dynamic and self-led, the Navigator will actively help to shape the service, building strong links with local partners and ensuring unpaid carers of those with mental health difficulties receive inclusive, and accessible support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which supports unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions, in line with the service delivery model, contractual requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Promote and raise awareness of this service across Milton Keynes including building relationships with referral organisations, VSCE and statutory services and the wider community.
• Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
• Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
• Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
• Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
• Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
• Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
• Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
• Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
• Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).
