For more than ten years, Cambridge Science Centre (CSC) has been sparking
curiosity and a love of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in
young people across the East of England.

Job Description
This role is central to positioning CSC as the leading small-to-medium-sized science
centre and STEM engagement organisation in the UK. Working with the CEO and
Directors, you will help identify opportunities, shape CSC’s marketing strategy, and
translate that into an objective-led plan of action. You will be responsible for all CSC
marketing campaigns and activity, owning the brand and its development across all
key audiences, including the public, community groups, teachers and school leaders,
corporate CSR teams, and educational grant providers.
You will lead CSC’s marketing partnerships and publicity channels, including the
website, social media, YouTube, and press contacts. You will set the strategic
direction that informs our creative approach, energising staff to push creative
boundaries across video, social media, digital platforms, and live engagements.
In addition, you will ensure the organisation is supported with up-to-date collateral
across all major functions and initiatives, while fostering a customer-focused approach
through media and marketing skills training across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and manage all CSC marketing and advertising activity, strategically
prioritising initiatives to achieve annual targets within the marketing budget.
● Own all aspects of CSC’s brand and the development of CSC’s storytelling
framework, ensuring content consistently communicates impact, inclusivity,
scientific curiosity, and community value.
● Support the CEO in the development and revision of a multi-year marketing
strategy, identifying top-priority objectives for focused campaigns which you
will then own.
● Maintain a cross-organisation annual marketing plan and quarterly update
schedule with key staff members to help identify ongoing opportunities to
promote CSC activities, products, community engagements and programmes.
● Working with the broader CSC team, create and manage a marketing content
development plan, including case-studies, blogs and social-media threads, to
best seize publicity opportunities and achieve annual marketing objectives.
● Establish annual marketing targets, and own and track marketing metrics
across all key audiences, including the public, schools, community groups,
corporate partners, and the informal education sector, including quarterly
reports on progress.
● Identify and manage marketing risk for the organisation, including considered
fast-response on public platforms as appropriate.
● Develop and manage all CSC marketing relationships with partners and
press.
● Own all press and publicity channels, driving up quality engagement with CSC
through the CSC website, social media, YouTube, etc.
● Create and manage a CSC collateral database, ensuring responsiveness to
business development priorities.
● Empower and upskill CSC staff to actively support marketing campaigns and
storytelling efforts.

Essential Criteria
● Significant experience in a senior marketing role, including annual budget
planning, press engagement, and campaign management.
● Proven experience in brand development and stewardship of brand identity.

● Experience in business-to-consumer advertising, ideally within a family, youth,

About the job role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Administrator in our First Contact Team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a healthcare environment.

The First Contact Team is a dynamic one-stop service that transforms the way patients and referral agencies access the Hospice’s services. An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Administrator to join the First Contact Team. If you are a successful applicant, you will be part of the team that acts as the first point of contact for the Hospice’s services. You will answer telephone calls from people who may be in difficult and stressful situations, provide advice and signpost to other services or agencies. You will also undertake associated administration and data entry.

The service operates 24 hours over seven days a week for advice, whilst referrals will be taken mainly in daytime hours. You will work 37.5 hours every week. Shift patterns will vary, and you will be expected to cover shifts from Monday through Friday, 8.00 am to 9.00 pm, plus occasional weekends according to the rota.

Working arrangements

Director of Transformation (DDaT)

A leading national charity is seeking an Interim Director of Transformation (DDaT) to guide the organisation through a crucial 18 month period of modernisation. This is a senior mandate suited to someone with broad technology leadership experience in fundraising charities of around 100–250 employees, and the capability to drive major transformation programmes to completion, including a significant CRM migration and the development of a modern data platform.

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring the charity’s technology architecture is coherent, scalable and secure, overseeing key platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365/Azure, and the charity’s evolving data lakehouse. You’ll bring structure to delivery and operations, managing internal teams and external partners, strengthening SLAs, and championing agile ways of working to ensure the organisation receives a high-quality, modern, and responsive technology service.

You’ll also lead the organisation through a substantial period of change, working closely with fundraising, digital, and operational teams to ensure technology aligns with strategic goals, particularly the ambition to scale income and deepen supporter engagement. Strong stakeholder management will be essential, as you will advise senior leaders and the Board on technology, risk, cybersecurity, and organisational readiness, while helping staff navigate a major shift in the charity’s digital and data capability.

Key skills & experience

• Senior, broad technology leadership within fundraising charities or similarly complex NFP environments (approx. 100–250 staff).
• Strong transformation experience across digital, CRM, data platforms, governance, and cloud architecture.
• Proven track record steering major CRM programmes (ideally Salesforce) and evolving modern Microsoft 365/Azure environments.
• Excellent stakeholder and change management capability, with the ability to influence at executive and Board level.

The Centre Manager - Retail and Café Operations will drive commercial performance, manage staff and volunteers, ensuring profits contribute to and support our mental health and wellbeing initiatives.

Job Role: Management Accountant
Salary: £37,000 per annum

We are seeking a high-calibre, values-driven Management Accountant to support our Head of Finance in delivering excellent financial stewardship across the church and our trading subsidiary.

Ruach City Church is going through a very exciting period of change and expansion. To be to be successful for this role you will need to be part qualified or fully qualified (or be qualified by experience) with knowledge and experience of both financial and management accounting, and good technical knowledge of financial systems.

If you are experienced in providing accounting services, have strong team leadership and management skills, and experienced in working proactively to make and implement effective organisational change, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities - Key financial and management accounting functions including:

• Month-end and year-end close
• Budget preparation and reporting
• Financial controls, reconciliations and audit support
• Supervision of finance team workload
• Fixed assets, income and expenditure monitoring
• Production of accurate and timely management accounts

About You

• A recognised accounting qualification (or current study toward one)
• Knowledge of both financial and management accounting, and good technical knowledge of financial process management including Sage
• Proven experience of providing accounting services in an accounting department.
• Experience producing clear financial reports and reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail, integrity and organisational skills
• The ability to build relationships and support both finance colleagues and stakeholders
• Has experience in charity finance or fund accounting (desirable, not essential)

About this Opportunity

As our High Value Executive, you will work closely with the High Value Relationships team across philanthropy, corporate and event fundraising. Approximate split is 45% philanthropy, 45% corporate and 10% events.

This role requires a candidate with strong relationship management, communication and organisation skills, who is able to work across a range of relationships and activities concurrently. You will also ideally have previous experience of managing projects, campaigns or other cross -team collaborative activities, and of using creative packages to produce engaging presentations and reports. 

Philanthropy:

You will assist the High Value Relationships Manager and the Head of High Value Relationships with research to create a prospect pipeline. For existing high-value supporters, you will ensure excellent stewardship by maintaining records and reporting and assisting with thanking, impact reports and proposals.

Corporate:

You will contribute to building long-term, sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with businesses. You will be responsible for assisting the High Value Relationship Manager in providing high-quality account management to Born Free’s growing portfolio of corporate partners and supporting the High Value Relationships Manager and Head of High Value Relationships in developing new business to increase our income and impact.

Events:

You will attend Born Free events (4-5 per year) where you will be confident in networking with high-value supporters and, in the lead up to the events, help, when needed, with sourcing prizes for raffles and auctions.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate the following attributes: 

• A minimum of one year in a relationship management and/or fundraising-related role
• Strong interpersonal and account management skills
• Strong timekeeping skills and highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet concurrent deadlines
• Professional with strong presentation and communication skills, including use of design programs to create visually impressive pitches, proposals and reports

About the role

You will be delivering high quality housing advice and advocacy, in line with our local community plans for Merseyside and will work with people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities.  You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation, by liaising and advocating with local authorities, housing associations and private landlords. This will include taking referrals from community and advice groups and our National Emergency Helpline, as well people self-referring in person at the Hub.

The role also works in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops to ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their stories, voice their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role. This is a challenging, front-line role where you will have a real opportunity to help people improve their lives.

About you

• Listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities, including people with lived experience of homelessness.

• Experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge.

• Experience of carrying out casework related interviews and maintaining detailed case records.

• Advise and support clients to make informed decisions.

• A proven record of delivering group workshops and presentations is essential, as is a collaborative, flexible and professional approach to your work.

The Merseyside Hub is a team of seventeen, and you will be a key member of the Housing Rights team, defending the right to a safe home. This team works closely with colleagues in our Legal Team as well as our colleagues in community fundraising, community organising and lived experience. Each of Shelter’s eleven hubs across the country have their own local priorities based on the issues experienced by our clients. For Merseyside, we focus on homelessness, temporary accommodation, the private rented sector and social housing.
