The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Fundraising Assistant (6-month contract) to support our Public & High Value Fundraising team.

This exciting role involves working in a busy and fast paced fundraising team, with a focus on Supporter Services, but also supporting the Individual Giving and Events team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring supporters receive exceptional service, processing donations accurately and maintaining data integrity. You will also help the Individual Giving and Events team with creating email journeys for supporters.

What does the role involve?

• Support across the Public & High Value Fundraising team by providing excellent supporter care to a range of supporters.

Key responsibilities:

• Stewardship Leadership: Implement plans to deliver a stewardship programme that engages, encourages and informs BHF supporters in respect of fundraising specifically in relation to Events. Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities and regular giving opportunities.
• Medical Device Sales: Lead the team in promoting and selling medical devices (such as defibrillators) to both B2B and B2C customers, across multiple channels supporting both income generation and health impact.
• People Management: Manage, motivate, and develop team members through regular 1:1s, appraisals, and professional development plans. Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Plan and allocate work to achieve objectives and service levels.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• ​Reporting & Compliance: Produce regular reports on income, sales, and team performance. Ensure accurate data entry and management in CRM and sales systems. Maintain compliance with charity law, medical device regulations, and internal policies

Working arrangements

This is a fixed contract for six months from start date. Start date is ASAP.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our Birmingham Office (B37 7YE). This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Currently, the team typically go into the office once a week on Wednesday. 

Working hours are between 09:00am – 07:00pm, subject to business needs. Normal working hours are 09:00am to 05:00pm - Monday to Friday with flexibility to work Saturdays and 11:00am - 07:00pm during peak event season.

About the role

The Centre Manager - Retail and Café Operations will drive commercial performance, manage staff and volunteers, ensuring profits contribute to and support our mental health and wellbeing initiatives.

Director of Transformation (DDaT)

A leading national charity is seeking an Interim Director of Transformation (DDaT) to guide the organisation through a crucial 18 month period of modernisation. This is a senior mandate suited to someone with broad technology leadership experience in fundraising charities of around 100–250 employees, and the capability to drive major transformation programmes to completion, including a significant CRM migration and the development of a modern data platform.

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring the charity’s technology architecture is coherent, scalable and secure, overseeing key platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365/Azure, and the charity’s evolving data lakehouse. You’ll bring structure to delivery and operations, managing internal teams and external partners, strengthening SLAs, and championing agile ways of working to ensure the organisation receives a high-quality, modern, and responsive technology service.

You’ll also lead the organisation through a substantial period of change, working closely with fundraising, digital, and operational teams to ensure technology aligns with strategic goals, particularly the ambition to scale income and deepen supporter engagement. Strong stakeholder management will be essential, as you will advise senior leaders and the Board on technology, risk, cybersecurity, and organisational readiness, while helping staff navigate a major shift in the charity’s digital and data capability.

Key skills & experience

• Senior, broad technology leadership within fundraising charities or similarly complex NFP environments (approx. 100–250 staff).
• Strong transformation experience across digital, CRM, data platforms, governance, and cloud architecture.
• Proven track record steering major CRM programmes (ideally Salesforce) and evolving modern Microsoft 365/Azure environments.
• Excellent stakeholder and change management capability, with the ability to influence at executive and Board level.

As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.

The ideal candidate

• Provide outreach and in-reach support to people affected by substance use across Tower Hamlets, including those who may have a history of rough sleeping, be vulnerably housed, or otherwise disconnected from mainstream services.

• Make timely and appropriate referrals to specialist services (e.g. treatment, health, housing, and social care) to ensure holistic support.

We are seeking a high-calibre, values-driven Management Accountant to support our Head of Finance in delivering excellent financial stewardship across the church and our trading subsidiary.

Ruach City Church is going through a very exciting period of change and expansion. To be to be successful for this role you will need to be part qualified or fully qualified (or be qualified by experience) with knowledge and experience of both financial and management accounting, and good technical knowledge of financial systems.

Responsibilities - Key financial and management accounting functions including:

• Month-end and year-end close
• Budget preparation and reporting

About You

• A recognised accounting qualification (or current study toward one)
• Knowledge of both financial and management accounting, and good technical knowledge of financial process management including Sage
• Proven experience of providing accounting services in an accounting department.
• Experience producing clear financial reports and reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail, integrity and organisational skills
• The ability to build relationships and support both finance colleagues and stakeholders
• Has experience in charity finance or fund accounting (desirable, not essential)

About the Role:

Here at Construction Youth Trust, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who are excited to learn and ready to dive into a supported internship. This is a fantastic chance to get a hands-on feel for what it's like to work in the charity sector. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development of the Trust e.g. participation in strategic working groups.

About You

Overview

The Campaigns and Alumni Relations Office (CAR) at the University of Sheffield is dedicated to inspiring alumni (former students) and supporters to make philanthropic gifts, as well as giving their time and expertise. A donation to the University of Sheffield can change lives, from supporting students in financial need to furthering world-leading research.

As part of the Individual Giving team in CAR, this role encourages people to make gifts of up to £10,000 using a data-driven approach and a range of communication and fundraising channels. The Fundraising Officer will also coordinate our community fundraising and in-memory programme to typically raise over £150,000 per year, as well as project managing direct mail, digital appeals and stewardship communications.

Acting as an advocate for philanthropy, you’ll support and motivate volunteer fundraisers and play a significant role in delivering the University’s flagship fundraising event, the Big Walk. You’ll also support the team to deliver fundraising and donor impact communications using a range of channels (email, print, web and video). On an ad-hoc basis you’ll manage our team of scholarship ambassadors to help engage donors, this may include coordinating small telephone fundraising sessions. 

This role would suit someone who excels at managing relationships and is confident interacting with donors and fundraisers on a daily basis. The successful candidate will also be a skilled project manager and communicator, able to juggle multiple tasks and think creatively to overcome problems.

Main duties and responsibilities

● Plan and deliver key fundraising projects using a range of channels (email, direct mail, events) to make direct asks for support through gifts and community fundraising.

● Ensure that all supporters have an exceptional experience and coordinate activities that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy in a meaningful and personal way to retain all donors.

● Support the wider team with elements of larger, multi-channel appeals. This will include building relationships with beneficiaries, suppliers, copywriting, using our mass email platform and manipulating data to personalise appeals. 

● Deliver community fundraising activities primarily the Big Walk, supported by the Individual Giving Manager and the Communications & Events team.

● Manage relationships with long-standing community fundraisers, as well as supporting ad-hoc fundraisers to maximise donations, showcase the University’s work and raise awareness of philanthropy. Proactively identify opportunities to build the supporter community and increase participation in fundraising.

● Manage relationships with corporate partners capable of sponsoring or participating in our fundraising activities, such as the Big Walk.

● Work with the team of scholarship ambassadors (students who have benefitted from donations) to gather and create content that tells their stories and demonstrates impact to donors.

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of ad-hoc telephone fundraising sessions. Including training and motivating the students, enabling them to make direct asks.

● Coordinate the fundraising team’s shared inbox and phone line, including delegating to other members of the team. Act as a key point of contact for donor and fundraiser enquiries, ensuring each supporter receives the highest level of customer service and

● Ensure that accurate records are maintained on the CRM database, Raiser's Edge and use JustGiving to optimise fundraising. Work with large datasets to personalise appeals and communication approaches, working to a data processing brief.

● Ensure fundraising activity fulfils its regulatory and statutory obligations (GDPR and Fundraising Regulator Code of Conduct) and its obligations for the health and safety of fundraisers and event participants.

● Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

*This role will involve some flexible working for telephone appeals and events, outside of core hours - time off in lieu will be granted.
