Job description

Are you a people person? Join our HR/Volunteering Team!

Help us build a community of incredible volunteers.

At URBAN YOUTH, volunteers are the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a special kind of volunteer to join our brand-new HR/Volunteering Team and take on a truly rewarding mission: recruiting, supporting, and empowering our volunteers of all roles and levels.

We are a brand new start-up youth work charity in London and we are very small team aiming to reach around 50 volunteers in our first year.

This role isn’t about working directly with young people; it's about being the positive force behind the positive forces. You'll be a core part of our mission by ensuring our volunteers have an amazing experience from their very first email to their ongoing journey with us. You will be with them on their full volunteer journey with us.

What you'll do:

  • Find Our Stars & Dream Team: You'll be the first point of contact for new volunteers, leading the recruitment and onboarding process.

  • Keep the Spark Alive: You'll find creative ways to keep our volunteers motivated, engaged, and feeling like a valued part of the URBAN YOUTH family.

  • Be a Partner in Their Journey: You'll be the go-to person for our volunteers, providing support, encouragement, and a listening ear throughout their time with us. Including Monthly Volunteer Meetings.

  • Share Your Skills: You'll help deliver relevant training sessions, giving our volunteers the tools they need to succeed in their roles.

  • HR/Volunteering Admin: You'll follow good practice, keeping all records and files of our volunteers, stored securely and you will be responsible for data protection. You will also lead on the policies, procedures, processes and HR/Volunteering Systems, including their set up, maintenance and management.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you'll have HR or Volunteer Management experience but this is not essential. We're looking for passionate people with a big heart and a passion for people. You're perfect for this role if you are:

  • Organised: You're great at managing multiple tasks and keeping things on track.

  • Empathetic: You can connect with people from all walks of life and understand their needs.

  • A Natural Leader: You're motivated and can inspire others to do their best.

  • Committed: You understand the importance of consistency in a new and growing organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in recruitment, people management, and programme development—all while playing a crucial role in building the foundation of a brand new charity.

Ready to build our team?

Application deadline: Sunday, 20th October 2025, before 1pm.
