About Alexandra Rose Charity
We should all be able to eat healthy food. But right now, healthy options cost more than twice as much as junk food. It’s getting harder and harder for people to put good food on the table. In fact, the poorest fifth of UK households would need to spend 50% of their disposable income to eat the UK Government’s recommended healthy diet. Access to a choice of high quality, culturally appropriate fruit & veg is an essential building block for our mental and physical health. We need to put this right. We’re on a mission to give people access to their choice of fresh fruit & veg, in the heart of their community. At Alexandra Rose, we are proud to deliver a mix of practical, place-based projects and national advocacy to shape a fairer future, where everyone can afford and enjoy fresh fruit & veg with dignity. If this aligns with how you see the world, and you want to use your skills and experience to help us build towards it, you’ll feel at home here.
About the role
Alexandra Rose collects and uses a wide range of data to help us run our programmes, understand our impact and influence policy change. We have developed monitoring, reporting and evaluation systems that help us track programme delivery, make informed decisions and demonstrate the difference our work makes to the diets, health and wellbeing of adults and children. We are looking for a proactive and analytical Data and Insights Officer with a keen eye for detail, who thrives on improving data quality, analysing complex information and generating insights that support decision-making across an organisation. You will play a key role in improving Alexandra Rose's data systems and reporting. Working across programme and evaluation data, you will help clean and analyse data, develop dashboards and reports, generate insights for use both internally and for our external partners. You will work closely with our technical partner and distributing centres to ensure that data is reliable, our reporting is robust and our projects can continue to grow effectively.
We want our organisation to reflect the diversity of the communities we work in, and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds.
N.B This role is mainly remote with requirement to travel to meetings across the UK.
Use of AI in applications
We recognise that candidates may choose to use AI tools to support aspects of their application, such as grammar, formatting, or drafting. We understand that using AI tools in this way can help you express your strengths more clearly. However, your final submission must be a genuine, accurate reflection of your own skills, experience, and understanding of the role. To support integrity and transparency in our recruitment process, we ask that you include a brief note explaining where and how AI tools were used in your application. Applications that appear overly generic, inconsistent with interview performance, or rely heavily on generative AI without clear attribution may raise concerns during the selection process.
Please submit your CV and cover letter through the Charity Jobs Portal only. We use anonymous recruitment applications sent by email will not be included in the selection process.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we may close the vacancy ahead of
the advertised deadline if sufficient suitable applications are received. We encourage
interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.

We're looking for an exceptional content creator who understands the Ocean and knows how to make people care about it.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with significant ownership. You will own content planning and community management across social media, web and newsletters. You'll be responsible for Ocean Generation's digital content and engagement, from deciding what stories we tell and how we tell them, through to creating, publishing, engaging with our community of 170,000+, analysing performance and improving what we do next.
We're a small, ambitious team on a mission to make Ocean Literacy accessible to millions of people. So, you'll need to be comfortable transforming Ocean science and educational programme outputs into compelling storytelling across social media, newsletters, and our website, taking the whole process from spotting an opportunity and developing the idea through to creating, publishing and owning the result.
We're particularly interested in people who already understand the Ocean or marine sector and have a proven track record of creating compelling social content.
You don't need to be a marine scientist, but you do need to understand the Ocean well enough to tell its stories accurately, ensuring Ocean Generation remains a trusted, empowering, and recognisable voice for Ocean Literacy.
About Ocean Generation
Ocean Generation is a UNESCO-endorsed Ocean education charity turning Science into Storytelling. We make Ocean Literacy accessible through film, pop-culture, and education programmes that empower practical action.
Most people grow up unaware that the Ocean is keeping us all alive: Ocean Generation exists to change that.
Established in 2009 by film producer Jo Ruxton MBE, our award-winning documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’ was named by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time” and ignited mass public awareness about the impact of plastic pollution.
Today, we address a full range of human-made threats impacting the Ocean, with a particular focus on programmes for young people across the world.
Our Ocean Intelligence approach – how we translate complex Ocean science into engaging content through Science and Storytelling – has been endorsed by the Intergovernmental Oceanic Commission of UNESCO as a project under the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
