You will be helping to run the social media channels of our CEO and Founder, Dr Luke Gamble, working as part of the Marketing Team at animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS). Your role will help raise awareness of the charities work, which in turn will mean more animals receive life-saving veterinary care.
You will take the lead on communication through our social media platforms for Luke, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. You will work closely with our Senior Marketing Executive and wider marketing team to create content tailored for each channel to ensure high levels of engagement, and audience growth.
This is a new role and offers a great opportunity for the right candidate. This role would be based at our office in Truro, Cornwall.

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi, Cambodia and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Last year, WVS helped an animal every 14 seconds. We trained over 4,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,700 parcels of veterinary supplies to 261 charities in 71 countries.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Create engaging and informative content for Luke’s channels, including producing day to day content plans and supporting on campaigns.
- Work with the WVS film team to develop an annual content calendar and overarching strategy for the YouTube channel, tailored to appropriate audiences.
- Work with Luke to produce regular engaging video content.
- Analyse engagement data to provide insights and continuously improve communications.
- Manage the social media accounts on a day-to-day basis, including responding to comments and messages.
- Identify and liaise with influencers, brand ambassadors, and collaborators.
- Support the wider marketing team with campaigns and activity.
- Some evening and weekend working, to include travel, will likely be required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2+ years working in a marketing role with a focus on social media

About the Role
Our Volunteer Experience Team support over 20,000 volunteers and no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for supporting our network of volunteers and volunteer leaders in engaging and managing volunteers, as well as involved in a variety of creative new projects helping us to provide a positive and rewarding experience for anyone that gives their time to Samaritans.
You’ll play a key advisory, analytical and development focused role, supporting volunteers and volunteer leaders on all volunteer management matters, including sensitive and sometimes complex situations. You’ll also deliver impactful initiatives and projects that strengthen and enhance the volunteer experience, helping shape the ongoing development of Samaritans’ volunteer management and support practices.

The NSPCC relies on voluntary income for the majority of its work to keep children safe,
prevent abuse and ensure every child has a voice. To secure long -term sustainability, the
charity has reshaped how it engages supporters through the Engagement and Fun draising
Directorate. Within this, the Philanthropy and Partnerships Department brings together
high -value audiences and supporter -led income. The Volunteer Board Fundraising team
leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards , volunteer -led
fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event
committees . These activities play a vital role in maximising sustainable income, engaging
senior volunteers, and supporting long -term supporter relationships.

This role will support , and lead the growth and development of, the s uccessful Wales
Fundraising Board which has been established for over 25 year s, initially as the NSPCC Full
Stop Appeal Board for Wales. The board has helped to lead and organise balls and dinners ,
overseas fundraising challenges and a variety of events in Wales and the rest of the UK. The
board’s ‘Building Brighter Futures’ appeal secured funding to build the NSPCC’s d edicated
Wales hub in Cardiff , Diane Engelhardt House , opened in 2010. The key focus of the current
board is to support the raising of over £1m annually from a range of supporter audiences
and promote the NSPCC across Wales by organising events (both fundraising and
engagement), establishing new contacts - primarily high net worth individuals and corporate
partners - and supporting the delivery of NSPCC services including recruitment of
volunteers and supporting access to NSPCC services.The team works closely with colleagues in Philanthropy and Partnerships (corporate
partnerships , major gifts, trusts and statutory ), Public Engagement (marketing, brand,
digital), and Fundraising Operations (data, compliance, finance, procurement) to ensure
