Job Summary

The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:

• sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff. 
• ensure continuous operational improvement, working with SMT to develop our service and systems, through new projects or ways of working, and champion a learner-led approach to everything we do. 
• champion PiP meeting our regulatory and reporting requirements, manage key relationships including with local authorities, and hold budget responsibility across our service.

What You’ll Need

• Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.
• Significant experience of leading and managing a staff team.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities, including planning, progress monitoring and review.
• Experience of liaising with a wide network of agencies and sector professionals in support of student needs.
• Knowledge of national and local legislation and policy affecting people with learning disabilities, including personal budgets. Alongside knowledge of key legislation and processes including on Health & Safety and Risk Skills and abilities 
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports for a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Able to take a lead role in the implementation of major tasks, including contributing to the delivery of key performance management targets and making organisational and systems improvements.
• Able to manage and complete projects successfully, including delegating tasks and monitoring and evaluating progress against outcomes.
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships with a wide variety of professionals and carers both internally and externally.
• Able to liaise and work closely with student families, carers and other stakeholders in planning, implementing and monitoring support.

The Role

This position will support the Education and Workforce team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics teaching community and will see you support the operational delivery of the Scholarships Programme, including the recruitment, assessment and selection of Scholars, and the two-year support programme.

What will I be doing?

Working for our Strategic Implementation Manager the focus will be on leading on the operational delivery of the IOP Teacher Training Scholarships. Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing support to the Strategic Implementation Manager in relation to the Scholarships budget, including creating budget forecasts and quarterly invoices.
• Working with our internal Marketing Department to shape the marketing programme and evaluating the effectiveness of our various advertising channels – including our webinar series.
• To manage applications, including setting up and maintaining the online application form, screening ineligible candidates, obtaining references from referees, collating applications for the shortlisting process and assessment panels.
• Data management and storage, including providing data and analysis to facilitate monthly/quarterly reporting and invoicing to the DfE, ensuring candidate and Scholar data is captured, maintained and deleted according to the IOP policy guidelines, supporting the tracking of scholars through their initial training and into teaching.  Including, supervising the consultant in charge of the data capture of the status and wellbeing of Scholars.

Who will I work with?

You will be line managed by the Strategic Implementation Manager and support the Manager Teaching Workforce in the delivery of their projects. 

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if your skills include:

Essential Criteria

• Experience of working in a project-based environment with significant internal and external stakeholder interest. Note that formal project management qualifications are not a requirement.
• Sustained and confident working knowledge of MS Excel and handling data
• Skilled in the administration and PM of multiple projects and ensuring quality assurance through evaluation, reporting and monitoring processes and documentation.

Nice to have

• This role does not require physics subject knowledge or teaching experience, but these would be an advantage.
• Website maintenance experience
• Experience using customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Lead Trusts & Grants Officer is responsible for developing and delivering income from mid-value grant making funders, notably trusts and foundations. The role involves managing a dedicated pipeline of opportunities, writing and submitting compelling applications, and stewarding funder relationships. This position works closely with service teams to understand project needs and create accurate budgets and impactful funding proposals. This role will also provide direct line management to the Trusts & Grants Officer, supporting their professional development and ensuring the team's overall success in meeting fundraising targets.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising and Grants Management

• Pipeline Management: Lead on prospecting, developing and managing the mid-value trusts and grants pipeline, focusing on bids around £20,000 - £70,000, including multiyear grants, ensuring a consistent flow of opportunities to meet team income targets. Developing the skills and ability to manage higher value and more complex strategic bids.

• Application Writing: Develop and submit compelling, high-quality grant applications and proposals for mid-value funders, working closely with service teams, ensuring accurate budgets and income against Adoption UK’s strategic priorities.

• Stewardship: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of new and existing mid-value funders, providing timely and impactful reports to secure renewed funding, and developing relationships with key external contacts through excellent communication.

• Reporting: Oversee the accurate tracking of all applications, reports, and communications using team tracking methods, and the CRM database, providing regular progress updates to the Senior Trusts & Grants Manager.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Trusts & Grants Manager, the Trusts & Grants Officer, and service teams, to align fundraising activities with the organisation’s strategic priorities and annual income targets.

• Undertake other duties and projects as directed by the Senior Trusts & Grants Manager and Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications.

Team Management and Development

• Line Management: Provide line management and support to the Trusts & Grants Officer, including regular one-to-ones, appraisals, and professional development.

• Training and Mentoring: Guide the Trusts & Grants Officer on best practices for researching, writing, budgets, and stewarding of small-value grants.

Personal specification

• Track record of successfully securing individual grant awards typically ranging between £10,000 and £50,000. (E)

About the role

You will lead and manage projects that support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful Musculoskeletal (MSK) and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with MSK conditions and to inform the direction of our ambitions, strategy, policy and services work. This includes obtaining, analysing, publishing and presenting MSK epidemiological and health data, and working with others to influence improved quality, coverage and use of MSK health data.

About you

The Role

As Head of Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement, you’ll lead the strategic development and delivery of SOS’s public fundraising portfolio – inspiring individuals around the world to take action and give generously for the future of Sumatra’s rainforests and wildlife.

You’ll be responsible for individual giving, digital acquisition and retention, legacies, appeals and campaigns, and supporter events. You’ll be given the freedom to innovate, identifying and developing new income streams and engagement products and approaches that help us reach and inspire new audiences.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with strong acquisition experience, who can help us grow and diversify our supporter base.

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll work closely with communications, partnerships, and programmes colleagues to build an engaged community of supporters and advocates for SOS.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the development and delivery of SOS’s public fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and income targets.

• Set and manage income and expenditure budgets for all individual giving fundraising streams, ensuring healthy ROI and sustainability. 

• Set clear targets and KPIs, with robust financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring.

• Foster innovation across public fundraising, developing and testing new products and propositions.

• Promote a culture of data and insight-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and connecting our supporters to the impact they enable.

• Adhere to the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practise and Data Protection legislation and ensure the SOS Donor Promise and Fundraising Values are alive and visible in all fundraising activity.

Individual Giving & Donor Development

• Oversee acquisition, retention, and uplift strategies for individual donors, ensuring a seamless and inspiring supporter journey.

• Design and manage a calendar of appeals and campaigns, including the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

• Work closely with Communications & Marketing colleagues to deliver compelling creative content and integrated fundraising campaigns across digital channels.
   

Digital Fundraising

• Lead on digital acquisition strategy and performance, testing and optimising paid and organic campaigns to grow SOS’s online giving and supporter base.

• Manage and optimise digital giving platforms, donor journeys, and analytics to improve conversion, retention, and lifetime value.
   

Legacies & Events

• Develop and implement SOS’s legacy marketing strategy, raising awareness and nurturing pledgers and enquirers with care and authenticity.

• Manage fundraising events (such as our Buffoonery comedy night) and oversee community fundraising initiatives, optimising engagement and lifetime value.
   

Collaboration & Management

• Line manage the Development Assistant, ensuring that our supporters receive outstanding stewardship.

• Work closely with colleagues across Development, Communications, and Programmes to ensure a joined-up approach to engagement, conversion, and storytelling.

• Keep up to date with sector trends, digital innovations, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and best practice in all fundraising activity.
   

About You

You’re a strategic and practical fundraiser who knows how to inspire public giving. You combine creativity with an analytical approach, and you’re motivated by purpose and impact. You’ll flourish in a small, committed team where innovation and collaboration are key.

Essential:

• Significant experience in individual giving and/or digital fundraising, including both strategy development and delivery.

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding income targets across multiple channels.

• Familiarity with CRM systems and digital fundraising platforms.

• Strong understanding of digital acquisition and retention techniques, data-driven fundraising, and supporter journeys.

• Experience managing appeals and campaigns, ideally including match-funded initiatives (e.g. the Big Give).

• Excellent copywriting, creative and analytical skills, with an eye for compelling storytelling.

• Experience in budget management and performance reporting.

• Collaborative and adaptable, with excellent project management and communication skills.
   

Desirable:

• Experience in product development or innovation in the charity sector.

* Act as the lead reporting officer to external bodies including the Regulator of Social Housing and MHCLG.

* Promote safeguarding, equality, and data protection across all compliance activities.

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join our friendly, committed team. This is a varied and rewarding role, providing administrative support across our Care & Repair, Safer Homes, and Community Centre services.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the planning, management, and delivery of a varied portfolio of fundraising and challenge events, for example: Cambridge Half Marathon | The Big Half | London Landmarks Half Marathon | Manchester Half Marathon | Virtual Challenges (Marathon May, October Dog Walk) | Great North Run | Cardiff Half Marathon | Do your own thing | plus other events as agreed
• Oversee event budgets, monitoring costs and ensuring financial targets are met.
• Line-manage, coach and support the Fundraising Assistant to ensure team success.
• Develop and implement marketing and recruitment strategies to maximise participation and income.
• Deliver exceptional supporter experiences, ensuring participants feel valued and inspired.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, agencies and partners.
• Ensure all events comply with health, safety, insurance and risk regulations.
• Evaluate event performance and produce insightful reports to drive continuous improvement.

At Accuro we have been operating across West Essex for over 40 years delivering clubs and activities to provide fun, friendship and a safe inclusive space for children, young adults and adults with a disability. Our clubs are a vital part of our members lives which also provide their families with trusted care and valuable respite. Our clubs and projects offer a wide range of opportunities from cookery to beach days, parties and paddleboarding. We are led by what our members tell us they want to do, whilst also offering them the opportunity to experience new activities that offer exciting possibilities to develop confidence and self-esteem.

Our current operations manager will be retiring in the new year and we are now looking for a talented and passionate individual to build on her achievements and lead our operations team to deliver and develop our services across West Essex.

The role requires a balance of leadership and practical delivery; a strong social care or health professional who has experience of managing people, financials and delivering projects. We’re looking for someone who can manage our services and teams to ensure they continue to be trusted safe places for our members and their families and also drive continuous improvement, innovation and growth as we have an appetite to deliver more.

Strong experience of working with disabled or vulnerable children or adults and safeguarding knowledge, together with a solid understanding of risk management and health and safety are all important aspects of this role.

We are looking for a confident manager, comfortable leading and coaching our staff and volunteer teams; an appetite to help us to continuously improve, with a focus on consistency, efficiency and quality. As such, we would expect you to be comfortable using IT packages and that you are confident managing financial information such as budgets, as well as analysing data to ensure you are monitoring the performance and impact of our services to ensure they are effective and providing the best value possible. There will always be an opportunity to network with other charities and supporters in the area and we would look to you to be an ambassador for us. Because of our services being spread across West Essex we would require you to be a driver and to have a car available for your use.

Our head office team is based at the Uttlesford District Council offices in Saffron Walden.  We are looking for someone to work with us at least 30 hours per week; and who is flexible in how those hours are worked – most of our clubs operate outside the usual working day and whilst you will not be delivering the clubs routinely it is important you spend time with the teams on site, actively supporting and developing the services you are leading.

We are offering a salary of upto £38,000 FTE dependent on experience and qualification, and in addition we offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme and the opportunity to join a strong management team who are committed to making a difference in our local communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Business Development team as a Business Development Officer, reporting to the Head of Business Development!

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth, reach, and expansion of the services in which we deliver at Social Interest Group (SIG). We are seeking a Research Officer to support a series of user-led research projects exploring:

• Access to social care and support

• Healthcare access and inequalities

• Sexual health and relationships for people with neuromuscular conditions

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge, lived-experience research that aims to improve quality of life and influence national policy and practice.

You will work closely with the CEO, Research Manager, and members of our lived experience research advisory group. You’ll be involved in all aspects of the research cycle — from design to dissemination — and will ensure that our research is ethical, inclusive, and grounded in co-production principles.

Key Responsibilities

Research Design & Ethics

• Support the design of research studies in collaboration with the lived experience team and academic partners.

• Support the preparation of ethics applications, participant information sheets, and consent materials.

• Develop interview schedules, focus group guides, and surveys.

Participant Engagement

• Recruit participants through Pathfinders’ network, social media, and partner organisations.

• Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in participant communication and data collection.

• Support co-production activities (e.g., advisory groups, workshops, testing materials).

Data Collection & Analysis

• Conduct qualitative interviews and/or focus groups with participants.

• Support data transcription, coding, and thematic analysis (using NVivo or similar).

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience managing or delivering a research project from start to finish (e.g., Master’s dissertation, PhD, or equivalent applied research).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.

Join our team at the MPS Society, one of the leading rare genetic disease charities in the UK aiming to transform the lives of over 1500 individuals and their families UK-wide who are affected by MPS, Fabry and other related lysosomal diseases.

We are expanding our small, dedicated, Support team who raise awareness, provide information and practical guidance alongside support and advocacy relating to health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.  This team also contribute to the development of our resources and facilitate project work such as youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. As part of the role, UK wide travel is necessary. which may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays.  You may also occasionally be required to attend evening or weekend conferences and events. We have policies in place to ensure that any unsociable hours worked are fairly compensated.

This is a full-time role (35 hrs per week) however part time hours may be considered for the right candidate.  Salary will be pro-rata for part-time.
