Purpose of the role

To deliver and develop the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, predominantly within Northern General Hospital, Sheffield but also in other hospital settings or Trusts as required. 

To have a visible physical presence within the Trust and become embedded into clinical teams focussing on the major trauma pathways.

To work closely with those impacted by catastrophic injury, taking referrals and carrying out initial assessments of need, expertly navigating, signposting and putting services in place in the immediate aftermath of major trauma, including talking about and facilitating early access to legal support to aid rehabilitation.

To establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by catastrophic injury. 

To work as part of the wider Day One Service’s team and organisation, taking responsibility for own record keeping and data collection in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities 

The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: 

• Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by catastrophic injury. 

• Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support. 

• Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery. 

• Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 

• Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports. 

• Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support. 

• Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy. 

• Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff. 

• Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate. 

• Support the roll out of our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region. 

• Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed. 

• Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise. 

• Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. 

• Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and NHS Trust specific training.

International Events Manager

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist the Assistant Director and Director, International Fundraising, with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fundraising Events Department

• Plan, organise, manage, and attend fundraising events held by PETA and PETA entities

• Exercise a lead role in overseeing aspects of PETA and PETA entity fundraising events, both in-person and virtual

• Ensure that event projects remain on schedule and deadlines are met

• Develop relations with event vendors and negotiate contracts and costs to ensure the best possible value

• Analyse data and evaluate events in order to implement strategy to improve event effectiveness

• Oversee the production of invitations, mailings, acknowledgement letters, awards, and other event-related materials

• Oversee the coordination of presentation material, including the creation of scripts and PowerPoint presentations

• Oversee the solicitation of donations and coordinate the production of gift bag materials

• Establish and maintain good communication and relationships with PETA donors and individuals at all levels of PETA and PETA entities

• Manage and track event RSVPs using PETA entities' donor databases and other tracking documents

• Manage event inventory and the shipping, receiving, and storage of event supplies

• Recruit and manage volunteers for events

• Collect and maintain event data, including costs, revenue, and confidential donor information

• Assist the department director and associate director in taking a lead role in the training of new hires in all event planning and departmental aspects

• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Operation Christmas Child UK (OCC) has implemented a strategic volunteer ministry, investing in teams of volunteers who will multiply themselves and hugely extend the reach of OCC’s mission.

OCC is the world’s largest shoebox appeal where Samaritan’s Purse, together with local churches here and overseas, distributes from the UK 1/4 million gift-filled shoeboxes annually to children in need overseas and in so doing demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

A resourceful and energetic Regional Manager is needed to recruit, select, equip, and lead teams of volunteers throughout the 32 London boroughs.

You will be passionate about developing others towards highly effective ministry, teamwork and increased personal competency.

You will also directly engage churches to participate in OCC in areas not yet covered by Connect volunteers. A special opportunity will be engaging London churches that have partnered with our sister ministry, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for the June 2025 God Loves You Tour London.

You will be confident to take initiative with people and projects and also have good administrative and organisational skills. You will also enjoy envisioning the numerous volunteers who participate in the OCC shoebox appeal each year.

You will enthusiastically support the Christian purposes of OCC and Samaritan’s Purse and be committed to the value of well-equipped volunteers and to developing them further. Candidates will have proven people and project management and administrative experience in the workplace and be educated to A levels or ideally Degree level.

This role is based in region, and so prospective candidates should currently live in the region and provide their own transport for which defined expenses will be paid.

About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with:

· At least 5 years’ experience in a finance role in a UK-registered charity

· Strong knowledge of UK charity accounting regulations and SORP

· Experience managing audits and supporting cross-border operations

· Advanced Excel and financial systems skills (AccountsIQ or QuickBooks an advantage)

· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information clearly

· The confidence to work independently in a remote, international team

Experience working in Africa or the international development or education sectors would be an advantage.

IRC UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its global headquarters in New York. Our team in the UK works to raise profile, deliver policy and practice change, and increase funding to help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England. In Europe, the IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm. 

Job Overview

As the Advocacy Manager, you are responsible for crafting our influence strategies on international development and humanitarian issues, using IRC’s programmatic and research evidence, surgical policy and practice solutions, and trusted brand to inspire collective action. You are the go-to expert for understanding current political and policy trends in the UK and how our policies support or clash with political agendas. You contribute your fresh insights and analysis to inform IRC’s influence approaches, tactics, and messages.

Major Responsibilities:

• Advocacy Strategy: Lead and deliver advocacy strategies, collaborating with policy leads, public advocacy and communications colleagues, to advance IRC’s key advocacy objectives. 
• Influence Analysis: Develop power maps for key policy issues to identify influence priorities and targets. Work with team to support development and execution of creative influence strategies, including with nontraditional partners encouraging IRC to develop innovative approaches to advocacy as usual.
• Stakeholder management: Support efforts to build IRC’s credibility, profile and relationships by engaging with political stakeholders and supporting opportunities to raise IRC’s profile at key meetings and events. 
• Political and Policy Tracking. Expand IRC’s political reach by tracking and analysing shifting government positions, individuals engaging on our issues, and the politics around our issues. Translate policy asks into political asks. Track political processes and profile opportunities / events; including bills, select committee inquiries, and other parliamentary and political developments.  Analyse and report on relevant political and policy trends and regularly communicate across external relations teams.
• Policy Engagement: Contribute to policy generation by providing UK specific analysis that increases the credibility and efficacy of our solutions.  Support IRC’s policy team in identifying and developing policy priorities that are impactful and achievable for the UK. 
• Communications: Provide market and audience expertise to communications team to craft public advocacy in the UK. Support team in developing communications strategy and develop materials for advocacy targets, including digital/social content and take actions. Support planning and implementation of strategic activities including events. 
• Spokesperson: Act as an IRC spokesperson and as a key interlocutor with political stakeholders. 
• Teamwork: Support a positive team culture by acting openly and collaboratively, supporting colleagues in their work and sharing credit with others where appropriate. 
• Steward Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: both in the culture of IRC, as well as in the policy solutions we develop and the ways we wield influence.

Job Requirements:

Work experience: 

• Demonstrated experience in advocacy strategy development with a focus on creativity, strategy, and critical thinking. 5-7 years of experience working on complex humanitarian, and/or development issues. 

Demonstrated skills and competencies: 

• Proven success in creating and implementing strategies that influence/impact on legislative and executive policy.
• Deep understanding of relevant the UK’s political structures and processes, and familiar with leverage points within these institutions that can be targeted to achieve policy change objectives.

• Ability to think strategically and creatively, being oriented towards solutions when traditional advocacy means do not suffice.

• Extensive knowledge of international development issues, and an understanding of nutrition policy and advocacy is an asset.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with experts, high level decision-makers, and colleagues in the humanitarian and development fields. 
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to translate sophisticated material and data into coherent narratives that resonate with policymakers. 

• Strong network of influencers and policy makers in the UK. 

• Ability to work quickly against deadlines. 

• Initiative and ability to work independently on fast-paced issues, and balance competing demands.

The Royal Parks is seeking a highly organised interim HR Systems & Payroll Manager to cover a 12-month period of maternity leave. This vital role will lead the smooth and seamless operation of our HR infrastructure, supporting over 350 permanent and seasonal employees who care for London's most iconic green spaces.

You will play a critical part in maintaining employee engagement by delivering an excellent HR operational service encompassing payroll, pensions, HR systems development and delivery, supplier contract management, and project work. You'll also manage and develop a team of HR Administrators, ensuring consistently high standards of service.

Our parks - spanning Hyde Park to Richmond - are visited by tens of millions of people each year. This role ensures that the people behind them are supported with first-class HR operations.
