Job description

We are looking for a Communications Manager to help craft our story – and the stories of our partners – with creativity and impact. This is a dynamic role that spans digital marketing, brand guardianship and content creation. One day you might be crafting a LinkedIn campaign or overseeing website design; the next you could be shaping our Annual Report, developing case studies or supporting colleagues to promote key events. You will balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, working closely with the Head of Communications, teams across the organisation and our partner network.

You’ll be a skilled communicator with proven experience in digital marketing, content creation and design, able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders with confidence. If you thrive on variety, enjoy blending creativity with strong organisational skills and are motivated by social impact, this role will give you the chance to make a real difference.

At Purposeful Ventures, you’ll join a collaborative and ambitious team, as well as a wider culture that balances pace and impact with fun and wellbeing.

Please download the full job description on the Purposeful Ventures website.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience and success as a Communications Manager with a focus on content creation, copywriting, digital marketing, and internal/external stakeholder communications
  • Proven ability to craft compelling copy and adapt messaging to different platforms and audiences.
  • Skilled in managing social media platforms with a particular focus on LinkedIn strategy, the creation of content in various formats, metrics analysis and management of growth and engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with external contractors to commission content and deliver high-quality projects.
  • Design/InDesign/PPT, graphic visualisation and image editing experience.
  • Digital asset creation including photography and videography.
  • The ability and confidence to work independently and take ownership of marketing and communication initiatives internally and with our partner organisations.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and maintaining brand consistency.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills with the ability to gain credibility with key stakeholders.
  • High levels of initiative, and a keen sense of ownership, with a proactive and reactive track record of finding creative solutions.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills with the ability to hold people to account and achieve project outcomes.
  • Great technical proficiency in using CMS tools (e.g., WordPress, Sanity), design tools (e.g., Adobe, Canva), analytics tools (and using data to inform decision-making), social media monitoring platforms (e.g., SproutSocial, Hootsuite or others), ChatGPT (using/testing) and Microsoft CoPilot.
  • A passion for social impact with an alignment with Purposeful Venture’s mission and values.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with, or alongside, organisations within the charity, education, or non-profit sectors.
