About the Role

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we deliver our 2024–2026 strategy. As our Engagement and Events Co-ordinator (Midlands), you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and impact across the region, ensuring more people have access to our support, resources, and information.

You'll engage with a wide range of communities and professionals and support the delivery of online groups and outreach projects. From working with underrepresented communities to helping us connect with younger adults living with arthritis, this role offers scope to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
• Organise and deliver presentations and outreach activities to promote Arthritis Action's services.
• Actively support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by engaging with diverse and underrepresented communities across the Midlands, including ethnic minority groups and people in low-income areas.

Online Groups & Events

• Facilitate and support Online Arthritis Action Groups and Self-Management Events, including managing group logistics, promotion, and administration.
• Identify and coordinate guest speakers for group sessions.
• Gather and report feedback to improve service delivery.
• Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding policies are upheld.

Networking & Relationship Building

• Identify and pursue new networking opportunities with community, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners.
• Represent Arthritis Action at regional and national events.
• Support collaboration across projects and teams to maximise impact.

General Duties

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure effective promotion of groups and events via social media and the website.
• Maintain up-to-date records, including inputting data into the organisation’s database (eTapestry).
• Attend and contribute to the internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Location & Travel

This is a home-based role located within the Midlands region. The post requires frequent travel throughout the Midlands, and candidates must have access to their own vehicle. Monthly travel to our London office is required. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Role purpose

In order to create safe communities, RISE empowers people to break their cycle of harmful behaviour. RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and wider community.

With the main objectives of reducing re-victimisation and reoffending, and helping to protect the public, the RISE practitioner will deliver a range intervention (individual and group), both in the community and in custody.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a high-quality service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a service to those at risk;
• Work collaboratively within a multi - agency framework consisting of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and local partnership responses to domestic abuse;
• Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
• Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a pro-active service through individual safety planning and personal support. 
• Work with victims of domestic abuse at all levels of risk to help them access services to keep them and their children safe.
• Liaise with Social Services and other professional agencies in relation to any child protection/ adult safeguarding risk issues highlighted;
• To ensure that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the Safeguarding lead (or whoever is relevant).
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and keep abreast of current legislation, best practice and maintain a focus of continuous improvement;
• Work with victims of domestic abuse to help them access services to keep them and their children safe;

• Establish timely contact with Victim/ Survivors of domestic abuse perpetrators who are referred to attend a DVPP,
• Carry out assessments with the Victim/ Survivors via telephone contact or community visit, using the Safe Lives DASH risk assessment tool;
• Carry out detailed safety planning with Victim/ Survivors;
• Manage risk by being pro-active with Victim/ Survivors, sharing information with other relevant agencies in a timely way.
• Refer and/or signpost Victim/ Survivors to other services/agencies to meet risk/wellbeing needs;
• Ensure Victim/ Survivors can access a place of safety e.g. refuge, if risk escalates to a dangerous/unsafe level;
• Maintain Victim/ Survivors contact and continuously monitor risk by keeping up with all available information while the perpetrator attends the programme;
• Attendance at Social Services Conferences (if appropriate), Risk Meetings and MARAC, advising on any safety planning for any risk issues highlighted;

How you will make a difference

Reporting to the Prospect Research Manager, you will identify and qualify new prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants, and Corporate Partnerships. You will carry out in-depth research using a wide range of sources, manage due diligence processes and ensure accurate data is maintained on our CRM systems. You will also work closely with the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy to steward donors and deliver exceptional supporter experiences.

The Digital Transformation Lead will spearhead the implementation of the Cathedral’s Digital Strategy. Working closely with the Cathedral Leadership Team, Heads of Department, and wider stakeholders, this role will lead the integration of digital systems, improve data management, drive operational efficiency, and support audience engagement through technology.
