Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will focus on the provision of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) support and advice to multiple projects across our rural livelihoods, schools, (WASH), and conservation programmes. Primary Responsibilities

Person specification
● Undergraduate degree in International Development, Research Methods, Statistics, or related field
● 1 year of professional experience in an MEL, research or other development role
● Experience in the design, refinement, development and implementation of MEL frameworks for international development and/or community health sectors, with knowledge of logframes
● Experience in participatory approaches to MEL is desirable
● Clear, demonstrable understanding of research ethics
● Demonstrable experience of coordinating and undertaking data collection and analysis, for both qualitative and qualitative data, including proficiency in Excel. Experience using STATA, SPSS or R is desirable

The Position
We are looking for a Grants Officer who can coordinate our grants team and support diverse tasks that include research, ideation and writing of proposals. In this role you’ll be a key contributor to the continued existence of Second Tree, a small, grassroots NGO that is dependent on grants to survive.
To do this successfully, you will employ meticulous time-management and organization skills, as juggling multiple tasks with competing deadlines is common in this role. Thames Valley Partnership Trading as Hope After Harm is a Buckinghamshire based registered Charity and Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee of 30 years’ operating a range of support programmes across the Thames Valley - including support for victims, support for the families of offenders, early interventions, work in the field of domestic abuse and support to offenders. Based in Madagascar, this position will work across SEED’s Community Health Department including maternal and child health, SRHR and food security. We use community-led, participatory approaches, working with local communities to identify and implement projects that meet their needs and priorities. It is a superb opportunity for an early career development professional to be part of a team of national and international staff supporting the development, funding, reporting and evaluation of our community health programme.
Primary responsibilities include the writing of donor reports and proposals, providing additional support to the project team surrounding project management and monitoring and evaluation. Duties and Responsibilities
- Write project reports, to a high standard of English, that clearly demonstrate the successes and challenges of our community health projects and provide clear budgetary information
- Compile funding proposals based on past evaluation, team discussion and International best practice in an engaging and professional manner
- Conduct internet searches and searches through SEED’s funder database for potential donors to fund projects
- Take a leading role in gathering statistics and ensure that all existing statistics relating to the projects are accurate
- Work alongside the Communications and Media Officer to build a communications plan for the community health projects, writing regular Facebook, blog posts and website copy

Mynshull’s Educational Foundation is committed to improving the life-chances of young people from Manchester and Salford, so they can grow up to fulfil their potential. Through the provision of small grants, we aim to reduce the barriers that young people face to education, skills and training.
We provide funding for young people aged 25 or under to help them obtain equipment, uniforms or experiences that support them in starting or continuing their education or training.
