Job description

This role is for someone who would like to learn the skills of, and gain experience in, giving energy advice to householders through working for one of the UK’s leading organisations in this field.

The postholder will be expected to provide strong customer service, working primarily on our telephone advice projects, taking calls on our advice line or making outbound calls. There is also an important administrative element to the role so accuracy and excellent attention to detail are key. The necessary support and training will be provided.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
• The salary for the role will be £23,465, rising to £25,785 upon completion of 6-month probationary period.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to

• Work on the advice line making and receiving calls from people who may need help with energy-related issues.
• Listen attentively to callers (some of whom may be in distress) and respond to their needs in an empathetic way.
• Record client details onto our database accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring data collection is compliant and thorough.
• Use own knowledge to assess help and support needed, ensuring all possible support routes are explored to maximise the benefits to clients.
• Refer clients onto other support organisations in their area as appropriate.
• Identify energy improvements that can be made to clients’ properties and refer to installers who can fit them.
• Help vulnerable clients make applications for grants and switch energy tariffs where appropriate.
• Provide energy advice to people at events and at surgeries.
• Familiarise yourself with and adhere to advice line protocol, processes and procedures.

Hybrid - Cheltenham (St Pauls and Moors Estates primarily)

We are seeking a highly organised Children and Young Person’s Specialist Exploitation Caseworker to work in the St Pauls and Moors Estates in Cheltenham.

The postholders will combine their lived experience of overcoming similar barriers to the client group and their professional experience to provide crucial guidance, support, and mentorship to children and young people who are being, or at high risk of being exploited. 

Through 1:1 mentoring, you will ensure children and young people are equipped to think critically, assess risk, and make better life choices. You will also support them to overcome personal challenges and achieve personal goals. The resulting mindset shift and confidence makes them more resilient to the risks of becoming involved with substance misuse and/or supply; gangs; exploitation and violence

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Delivery specialist Exploitation 1 to 1 casework and mentoring to identified at risk young people up to the age of 25 years and their families.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and young people to provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship. 
• Address individual needs and challenges, utilising personal experiences, local knowledge, professional skills and St Giles casework and mentoring materials to offer support and intervention. 
• Assist children and young people in setting and achieving personal life goals. 
• Woking alongside statutory organisations such as YST and Collaborate with professionals to support and develop strategies to minimise the risk to young people. 
• Support client’s attendance to youth court as and when required. 
• Maintain a trauma informed approach, that recognises and responds to trauma and amplifies the voices and experiences of children and young people.

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisers to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.

What you will do:

About the role:

We have two events-based roles to support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. These are innovative roles to develop social prescribing in the local NHS. Based in one of the six Primary Care Networks (PCN) you will work in different GP practices across that Network to deliver their specific priorities. You will join a team of ten Social Prescribing Link Workers working in Haringey PCNs and be part of a wider community-based Borough team which offers information, signposting and short-term support across the eight localities in Haringey.

Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to non-medical Social Prescribing Link Workers, who give time, focus on ‘what matters to me’ and take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.

Social prescribing can help to strengthen community resilience and personal resilience and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long-term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.

At the centre of the social prescribing process is the Social Prescribing Link Worker, working with GP Practices in a Primary Care Network, who connects patients who are referred to a range of activities and services in the local area depending on their needs, interests and capacity for engagement. This is a complex role as the SPLW will need to have good interpersonal skills to engage with the patient and have a comprehensive knowledge of the services and activities available in the local area.

We are currently seeking a Team Lead to head up the delivery of support services for carers across the Southend Borough.  Working 37 hours per week with remote working with the flexibility to work from home and community venues in Southend.

Gaddum is looking for a qualified PWP to join our well-established Talking Therapies team operating in Manchester and expand our offer for clients. You will work alongside a team of dedicated counsellors within a stepped care model to provide initial assessments and a range of NICE approved low intensity interventions for common mental health problems, including one-to-one work and the potential for groupwork.

You will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, and will have successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or be near to qualification with all elements of the course successfully passed/on track to qualify on time). 

Gaddum offers a supportive environment to a nearly or newly qualified PWP, enabling you to develop in the role, alongside a small, diverse and compassionate team. 

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
