Who are we looking for?
You will be a determined and passionate individual who wants to make a real difference to critically injured patients in London. You will have experience in developing and delivering robust supporter engagement, acquisition and retention campaigns.
The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.
Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the programme, particularly with regards to retention and delivery of the supporter journey.
You will be responsible for multi-channel donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and cross-sell campaigns across digital channels, print, telephone and provide occasional support to our successful Face to Face programme. You will take ownership of the delivery of our supporter journey for our regular donors, cash, lottery and raffle players – with huge scope to make a big impact in this area.
The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. Although the post is based at Mansell Street, LAA offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Role Summary
This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Your work will drive significant awareness of our organisation, and ultimately enable millions of people to transform their relationship with alcohol.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Media engagement

Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

Provide ongoing development of our key lines library, regularly reviewing responses we have on file for a range of topics

Support Alcohol Change UK spokespeople (Chief Executive, Directors and others) prepare for interviews: developing tailored briefings ahead of opportunities, providing a sounding board to rehearse key lines when required and giving feedback on appearances to support ongoing development

Manage our media database and reporting tools, providing regular condensed reports for the Director of Communications and Marketing/CEO/Board and develop insights-gathering to better inform our media engagement strategy

With the Director of Communications and Marketing, play a key role in media crisis management, escalating issues as appropriate, suggesting solutions and developing organisational responses to sensitive situations

Support the deployment of Alcohol Change UK voices, working closely with the Engagement Team to identify Community Champions, Ambassadors and others who are happy to be supported to share their experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm with the media
Developing a new proactive media strategy

Plan and deliver a new strategy for generating proactive media coverage, where Alcohol Change UK’s research, campaigns, parliamentary and wider activity connect with larger audiences in a strategic way

Working closely with teams across the organisation, craft compelling media plans and press releases to generate coverage of our work

Bring fresh energy to opportunity spotting, securing opinion pieces, expert comment, letters to editors and other ‘newsjacking’ content – particularly on ‘culture change’ topics such as sober shaming and stigma

Manage relationships with key journalists in our sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and exclusives
Campaign media activity

Particularly for our flagship Dry January® campaign, and with the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, develop media support briefs for external media agencies, when required

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager
Salary: £34,500.

- Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.
- Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
- Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies.
- Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership.
- Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver an effective email CRM programme for ZSL and its Zoos (London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo) across the broad range of audience groups (zoo visitors, donors, members, experience bookers, etc.). The aim is to continuously grow customer acquisition, engagement, value and loyalty as part of an overarching Supporter Journey that has the customer experience at its heart.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design and build on-brand email marketing campaigns from end to end. Including copywriting, building emails on Dotdigital, sending campaigns and manage A/B and MVP testing strategy to ensure continuous optimisation of email campaigns.
- Own the overall email campaign plan and delivery, working with audience owners across ZSL to manage email communications, providing guidance and best practice.
- Analyse and segment customer data and maximise this data to deliver effective targeted activity, managing the quality and frequency of messaging. Use this insight to identify opportunities for up-selling or cross-selling programmes.
- Develop and deliver customer data acquisition strategies and ensure all activity is GDPR compliant.
- Work with the Membership Marketing Manager to fully develop, deliver and manage an effective CRM programme for ZSL to build (automated) supporter journeys along the customer lifecycle, driving loyalty and growing the value of each customer and ROI from CRM activity.
- Work with the Digital Marketing Executive to track and analyse campaign results (engagement, conversion rates, web analytics, ROI) to produce regular reports on campaign performance, and continuously implement improvements based on findings.
- Develop strong working relationships with our Ticketing and Systems teams to understand and use Tessitura, our membership and donations CRM platform as well as ticketing and experiences data from SEE Tickets.
- Manage ZSL’s email service platform (currently Dotdigital) including being responsible for managing and maintaining the data within it to ensure that all customer data and communication is GDPR complaint, management of the ESP budget and management of the relationship with the ESP supplier.

Your experience:

About this key role
As a valued and integral part of the Fundraising and Communications team, our successful candidate will lead a small sub-team to generate at least £500,000 income each year, including the direct line management of a Senior Fundraising Officer, who you will support to line manage the Fundraising Assistant. We will count on you to implement effective processes and procedures across the Fundraising and collaborating teams, manage and refine processes for recordkeeping and devise, maintain and update our Fundraising Handbook.
You will also be expected to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving Strategy and our Individual Giving income stream through single and regular giving appeals, as well as managing a portfolio of challenge events nationally that provides excellent stewardship for a range of participants. Developing and designing high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven figure funding opportunities from Trusts & Foundations, Corporates and High Net Worth Individuals is a key element of this role, as is providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.

We are seeking a Programme Manager to support the delivery and continued development of the Academy’s Systems Approaches in Government programme.
The role
As the Programme Manager, your role is pivotal in supporting the delivery and continued development of the Systems Approaches in Government programme, driving the advancement and application of systems approaches across government. You will have strong programme management skills and experience that you can apply to mobilise systems approaches and their application in an engineering policy context.
Working closely with the Programme Lead and Programme Officer, your responsibilities encompass a diverse array of tasks, from coordinating the delivery of workshops and projects to nurturing relationships with stakeholders within and beyond government. Collaborating with policy experts and external partners, you'll spearhead initiatives aimed at promoting systems approaches, both internally and externally. Through the development and dissemination of learning resources, you'll equip Academy colleagues with the skills needed to embed systems approaches into policy formulation and societal responses.
You will champion the adoption of innovative approaches to address complex societal challenges, aligning with the overarching programme vision and Theory of Change. Within your role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting of the program's impact. · The work will include some on call responsibilities on evenings and weekends for the Hospital Discharge Services which an extra payment will be made.
· To work in partnership with other providers and health partners across both boroughs.

· To be responsible for health and wellbeing staff including undertaking supervision, guidance and support, allocation and monitoring of work plans, annual appraisals, identification of training needs and participation in the recruitment of staff.
· To work with the Chief Executive to devise and implement a marketing / publicity strategy to promote primary and secondary interventions and other services for older people.
· To work in partnership with older people, volunteers, statutory, voluntary and other agencies to initiate and deliver a programme of healthy living and recreational activities which meet the needs and aspirations of older people in Bromley and Greenwich identifying and developing new initiatives and partners.
· To be responsible for ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken of premises, outreach venues, client’s homes and other measures for the provision of a safe environment ensuring that all legislative requirements are met.
· To ensure that evaluation and monitoring of service/project outcomes is implemented, enabling Age UK Bromley & Greenwich to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the service delivery.
· To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, work colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations
· To work alongside the Chief Executive to undertake long-term strategic planning of primary and secondary care interventions and other health and wellbeing services.
· To work with older people and with other groups, organisations and agencies in the boroughs to identify potential areas for health, education and social activities that older people want to participate in, and identify funding sources to develop and deliver the new areas of work.
· To be creative and innovative in designing new opportunities and projects for people to get involved across the boroughs in the co-delivery of services.
· To work with diverse and/or hard to reach individuals / groups who are not involved in their community, in particular targeting people who are socially isolated.
· To keep your knowledge up to date with the health priorities and health commissioning strategies in both boroughs to ensure our services are ‘fit for purpose’ and can contribute to the current overarching outcomes agreed between the local Authorities and the ICB.
· To be familiar with the Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs) Health & Wellbeing Strategies and decisions agreed at the joint local authority and ICB & Wellbeing Boards.
