We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. In addition to administration support, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using XERO and our CRM.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
• Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
• Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments

Invoicing and income tracking

• Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
• Keep office team informed of payment statuses
• Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications
• Conduct annual publications stock take

Payroll and reporting

• Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
• Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants
• Produce regular financial reports and analysis as required
• Supporting preparation of budgets, working with accountants as required

 Event financial administration

• Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)
• Process and record staff/trustee expense claims
• Support with bookings accommodation and travel for Board meetings

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:

• Strong experience in financial and office administration
• Knowledge of accounting principles

The Role

We now have a full time, permanent vacancy for an aspiring grants management professional to help us to deliver our strategic plan. About the role

AMRC exists to support our members to be as effective as possible as they find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. The Research Funding Officer will focus on developing guidance, advice and training to support our members to fund research well across the research pipeline. You will help to showcase good practice across the sector and analyse new developments in funding policy and practice, helping to keep our members up-to-date and on the front foot. You will have a key role in ensuring we maintain high standards and AMRC’s kitemark of quality, which gives credibility to donors and partners.

Corporate Partnership Officer 

London 

£30,413 - £32,699 per annum  

Our client is looking to appoint a Corporate Partnerships Officer who will help bring companies into long term relationships. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual who wants to demonstrate how building relationships with the corporate sector can deliver results, improve patient care, and reduce illness. You’ll be trusted to work autonomously to develop and implement your own ideas on engaging your portfolio of partners and delivering events. You’ll report to and work closely with the Deputy Director of Development. 

Purpose and scope 

Responsibilities  

• Managing your own individual portfolio of existing and prospective corporate partners 

• Stewarding your portfolio through organising 1-1 meetings and cultivation events 

• Developing high-quality funding proposals with the support of relevant project teams 

• Identifying new opportunities to secure corporate support through research and networking 

• Undertaking due diligence on prospective corporate supporters and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and legislation including the ABPI Code of Practice 

• Supporting the delivery of the corporate partnership programme of activities 

• Ensuring corporate partners are thanked/recognised in an appropriate and timely manner 

• Ensuring that database records for corporate supporters and prospects are up-to-date, accurate and adhere to data protection law and best practice

• Confidence in maintaining and establishing relationships at a senior level

Data Insights Officer

This is a newly created Data Insights Officer role within the Systems team, where you will significantly enhance the capacity and expertise in data analysis and reporting.

You will be instrumental in embedding a data-driven culture, driving analyses and insights to feed into decision making throughout the Network.

The focus for this role will be supporting the Network's young people’s engagement strategy. The Data and Insights Officer will contribute to reporting design, ensuring data informs decision-making at all levels, and will provide ongoing support through tracking the impact of new young people engagement initiatives, helping identify indicators for success.

About the Role

You will play a vital role, driving enhancements in data capture and strengthening the Network's ability to demonstrate the measurable impact of its youth work. This will involve collaborating closely with teams across the organisation and the Youth Zone Network to understand their data requirements and provide tailored reporting and insights.

This role is perfect for someone who can translate complex data analysis into compelling narratives within a youth work context, drawing out insights to shape recommendations for the Network.

About You

You will be adept at communicating insights clearly and accessibly to diverse audiences. A passion for the power of youth work and a commitment to supporting Youth Zones in increasing engagement with young people are essential. You will bring expertise and creativity to drive improvements in data capture, analysis and insights, and will thrive in a flexible environment, including working collaboratively across different teams.

You will have previous experience in a similar data analysis role handling large datasets, along with experience with Salesforce (CRM) and working with young people or in a youth work setting.

Working closely with the Superintendent minister, circuit ministers and Lay officers the Governance and Administration Manager will ensure that the circuit and individual churches fulfill their governance obligations within Methodist Policy and Charity Law. This will include: GDPR, Safeguarding and Property and Finance management. S/He will also help to develop new ways of working using information and communication technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the circuit.
