Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)
Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.
As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

In return for joining us, we will offer you:
A salary of £32,000 - £34,000
Hours - 40 Hours per week

Reporting to: Head of Philanthropy in the Fundraising Team
Location of Work: Home based. The post holder will be expected to travel to meet donors, travel to away days and team meetings in London. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.
Contract Type: Ideally full-time, 35 hours per week, although part time / flexible hours may be considered. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

BACKGROUND
Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. We provide nutritious breakfasts and expert support to primary, secondary, ASN/SEND schools and pupil referral units in disadvantaged areas of England and Scotland. Providing a daily school breakfast ensures that every child and young person feels included, equal and set up for success. Magic Breakfast works to be part of the solution to end child morning hunger for good through our campaigning, research and advocacy work with politicians and decision-makers.

JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.
The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations

Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;

Work with the Head of Philanthropy and Prospect Researcher to build a Philanthropy prospect pipeline

Write accurate, inspiring and compelling fundraising propositions and reports for potential and existing major donors

Review and make recommendations for improvement of our existing donor journey, building a calendar of engaging content and touchpoints throughout the year.

Lead on devising, developing and organising bespoke events for donors and prospects

Complete timely event reviews to improve and inform future decision making and planning.

Work in partnership with the wider fundraising teams to provide excellent supporter care to all event attendees and stakeholders.

Support the Head of Philanthropy to build relationships with senior volunteers to garner their support with hosting and supporting events to connect us to, and unlock, their networks.

Use our CRM database (Salesforce) to log KPIs, project and reconcile finances and manage supporter relationships

Use KPIs to adapt strategies and drive activity

Be responsible for ensuring an up-to-date bank of engaging content and materials for existing partners, including but not limited to, commissioning video content, compiling reports and building case studies.

Scan the external environment for trends, insights, ideas and best practice that could benefit the High Value Giving teams and Magic Breakfast’s work, making recommendations for improvements and leading on opportunities as they arise.

Work with wider Fundraising team to help create and deliver cross departmental events, and identify referral opportunities (to Trusts and Corporates)

Ensure all donations are thanked and recorded in a timely way, and logged accurately on salesforce

Support Head of Philanthropy in accurately forecasting philanthropy income for each financial year, and ensure forecast income is updated monthly.

Purpose of the Training & Admin Officer role:
As Training & Admin Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the delivery of the On Track program, specially it’s training programme and provide support for the wider Research and Evaluation team. On Track is Women’s Aid case management and outcomes monitoring system. It has been designed to empower local domestic abuse services to collect robust evidence of impact as part of their everyday work
Key duties and responsibilities of the Training & Admin Officer:
- Monitor incoming enquiries about On Track from members and organisations, keeping accurate records of interested services, answering queries and following up with those services who have expressed interest.
- Provide information and updates to organisations using On Track, produce bi-monthly On Track Insider newsletter
- Deliver workshops on OASIS On Track, its forms and its processes and on monitoring and evaluation and demonstrating impact.
- Monitor the On Track email inbox and answer enquiries from organisations using the system and advise on best course of action.
- Maintenance and administration of our e-learning platform
- Support in the promotion of the On Track workshop program, including drafting communications

Your role will be to design the community writers programme, invite MAT and school leaders to write about their work on our platform and support them to write their very best stuff so they can achieve their writing and career goals.

- Phase 1 - focus on building a community of Directors of Education and School Improvement Leaders writing inside the community (1 day a week for 3-6 months)
- Phase 2 - widen the focus on building a community of secondary school leaders writing inside the community (additional 1 day a week from 3-6 months following the start of phase 1)
- Phase 3 - expand the role to make it a nearly full-time role managing multiple communities of writers who focus on different aspects of education.
The more successful each phase is, the greater the scope to expand the role is. We'd love to grow it with you.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team as the E-Commerce Manager.
In line with our ecommerce strategy, Sustrans has invested over the past years to increase sales through our e-commerce shop and now needs to find new approaches to maximise revenue.
As the E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for maximising e-commerce revenue by optimising the martech stack, improving audience insights, product development/management and promotion through digital and offline marketing channels.

Through a long-term blended programme of rugby coaching, group and 1-1 mentoring delivered by a consistent team of trusted expert practitioners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the regional delivery teams and reporting to the Director of Programmes, the key responsibilities will be to:
1. Manage our Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) processes. (50%)
- Work with the Director of Programmes to refine and improve the overall approach to SOHK impact management processes and the outcomes framework.
- Oversee the use of data collection tools and approaches that are appreciative of the practicalities, yet uncompromising in our ambition to achieve sector leading recognition with regard to MEL.
- Work with and support regional managers to ensure timely, accurate and regular cycles of data collection throughout the year.
- Provide coaching and support to the delivery team, including training sessions that will ensure a thorough understanding of MEL processes and measurement tools.
- Closely monitor survey completion rates, identify data collection gaps and devise a realistic plan to help fill these gaps.
- Work with the delivery team and Director of Programmes to create engaging ways to gather feedback data from young people participating in the programme, ensuring the centrality of youth voice.
- Design, plan for and implement the means by which long term outcomes are measured, post programme.
2. Oversee the processing and analysis of data (30%)
- Lead on the data processing, analysis and internal impact evaluation from our feedback surveys and data collection methods.
- Identify and implement new ways for data quality, accuracy and completion to be improved across the organisation.
- Alongside the Director of Programmes and Regional Managers, ensure that learnings are understood and embedded into the delivery teams so our programmes are constantly refined and improved.
- Establish regular feedback loops to the delivery teams – both formal and informal - creating a consistent and regular flow of data insights.
- Create a learning culture in which data isn’t scary or about performance management, but about learning, improvement and consistency.
- Undertake thematic analysis of qualitative data, including feedback from young people, team members and other adults, to identify any learning that can be fed back into programme design.
- Establish evaluation methodologies that ensure feedback from the young people on school of Hard Knocks programmes are heard and considered.
- Share back insights and learning from impact management to key stakeholders, with the support of the Director of Programmes.
3. Support our Fundraising and Communications (20%)
- Support the Fundraising Team as they identify, cultivate and inform existing and new funding partners by providing them with our insights and evidence.
- Support the Marketing & Comms Manager with insights, case studies and any relevant data as they curate compelling annual reports based around our impact.
ABOUT YOU
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience of designing and implementing evidence and learning frameworks.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with data analysis, and a clear understanding of the importance of data quality and management and its importance to analysis and assessment.
- Experience managing and analysing large sets of data, with an understanding of the importance of data quality.
- Experience of creating practical insights from data analysis work and working collaboratively to feed these back into programme improvement and wider learning.
- Experience in setting up structured impact management practices within an organisation, including regular learning and review points across the organisation.
- Experience of supporting colleagues to understand and engage with impact management and contribute to a culture of innovation and learning.

Dravet Syndrome UK (DSUK) is a small independent UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Syndrome is a rare neurological condition that affects around one in every 15,000 people in the UK. As well as experiencing severe, difficult-to-control seizures, children and adults with Dravet Syndrome have varying degrees of intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated conditions (known as ‘comorbidities’), which may include autism, ADHD, behaviours that challenge and difficulties with speech, mobility, eating and sleep.
The charity was founded in October 2008 by a small group of 30 families. Today, DSUK is a registered charity helping over 550 families with support, education, and research programmes, underpinned by a world-class Medical Advisory Board.
