The Targeted Support Team deliver a wide variety of programmes to empower young people and adults to improve their confidence and skills and then progress into training and employment.
The Role
This is an exciting time to join CXK as we are looking to extend our work in Supported Employment. These roles will support a small caseload of individuals with a range of needs who are looking to move into work, enabling them to find the right opportunities and sustain the roles through in-work support. The coaches will also need to be skilled in working with employers to support them to make their roles accessible and sustainable. Growing and maintaining a strong employer base will be a central part of these exciting new roles.

Minimum Criteria

· Full UK drivers’ licence and use of own vehicle

· Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets
· An understanding of the employment needs, and challenges faced by people who experience labour market exclusion

Steps to Success
CXK delivers the Steps to Success programme across East Sussex, in partnership with East Sussex County Council.
Funded by the Careers Enterprise Company, this exciting project delivers a tested model across secondary schools, supporting young people in year 11 to achieve successful post 16 pathways.
The Team
The Project Coach will be based within CXK’s Youth Employability Service (YES) and will undertake regular careers-based interventions with young people, supporting them to understand their options and take steps toward achieving their goals around education, training and /or future employment. The coaches’ approach is focused, creative and persistent, building on young peoples’ confidence and motivation alongside their skills and personal growth.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Project Coach.
You will support a caseload of young people in Year 11, seeing them in their school setting or in the community if they are not attending school. Working across the East of the county, with schools and FE Colleges you will play a key role in ensuring that young people receive the tailored guidance and support they need to progress confidently into further education, training, or employment. You will build positive working relationships through co-located working, and accurate input into relevant databases.
You will maintain regular contact with the young people you support, building trust and ensuring that casework is delivered with care and consistency. Your role will involve assessing needs, action planning, reviewing progress, and adapting support as required. Also supporting parents/carers to be aware of their young person’s next steps and the opportunities available.
About You
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people, especially SEND and Risk of NEET young people, who understands the post-16 education and training landscape and the importance of person-centred support. You will be a confident communicator and collaborator, able to manage your caseload and make a genuine impact on the lives of the young people you support.

·Skilled in managing a varied caseload and maintaining accurate and confidential records
·Understanding of the post-16 education, training, and employment landscape
·Ability to build trust and maintain regular, consistent contact with young people
·Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
· Competent in using IT systems, databases, and digital communication tools

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that they face when preparing for and ultimately finding work in the UK.
We support all people who have experienced forced migration, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and access the opportunities they need to secure sustainable and meaningful employment. We run STEP online and in person programmes across the UK.
We have now expanded our work to deliver (in partnership with the British Council) an English Language and Employment Support Programme for up to 4,000 Ukrainians and Hong Kong BNO status/visa holders (50% of each community) over the next 12 months.
We are recruiting Ukrainian speaking Employment Advisors to join the STEP team delivering this new programme. You will provide high quality advice and guidance through 1:1 employability support and group employability workshops with the aim of coaching individuals and supporting them on their journey into employment that suits their previous experience and skill set.
You will prepare participants for employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will monitor and encourage participants’ engagement and attendance in all aspects of the programme. You will provide an exemplary level of support to STEP participants working towards a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of participants including successful delivery of workshops, completion of training courses, volunteering, and achieving and sustaining paid employment.
The Employment Advisors will work remotely and can be based anywhere in the UK.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience or knowledge within the employment sector
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people who have experienced forced displacement accessing employment.
- Knowledge of adult learning/vocational training
- Experience of delivering 1:1 advice and guidance and coaching
- Experience of reviewing and supervising a case load of participants
- Awareness of Safeguarding people at risk and maintaining professional boundaries
- Experience facilitating group workshops
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Cross-cultural sensitivity
- Good admin and IT skills (CRM database, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Advanced level of English
- Competency in Ukrainian
