Join the innovative Bolton Listening Lounge, providing adults in Bolton with mental health and wellbeing support. Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust and BAND/FAmily Action, the Bolton Listening Lounge is a collaborative approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support from late afternoon into the evening. It provides a safe space for people who are experiencing mental distress or who feel that they are going through a personal crisis. Our staff will offer low level calming interventions and one to one support to identify the cause of the emotional distress and to put in place a plan including signposting and referring on to other organisations and services.

We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of Mental Health conditions and their impact on daily living and a strong track-record of working with individuals and their families to deliver positive outcomes.  You will work within the team to prototype new ways of supporting individuals, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing learning and by listening and responding to feedback from people who use the service.

Deputy Head of Youth Work

The Deputy Head of Youth Work (Targeted & Partnerships) is a crucial role sitting within the Youth Zone Delivery Team. About the Role

Through line management of your team and in collaboration with partners, you will ensure that the Youth Zone is accessed by all young people who need it the most. • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all sessions including restricted-funding projects

• Manage one off projects, events and promotional activities 

• Identify suitable restricted-funding projects 

• Support, and in some cases manage, targeted projects as and when they come up, including budget management, and ensuring full monitoring and evaluation compliance

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

Call for expression of interest 

Title: Senior Finance Consultant 

Location: Nampula, Mozambique 

Length of contract: 12 months, with a possible extension to 18 months 

About the role 

Sightsavers’ Mozambique country office (MCO) oversees the implementation of Sightsavers’ programmes in Mozambique that focus on eye health (cataracts and refractive error), Neglected Tropical Diseases (trachoma and onchocerciasis) and social inclusion (economic empowerment), with the finance function overseeing a vast portfolio of activities covering the various aspects of finance and administration. At this moment, the role of Finance & Support Services Manager (FSSM) is currently vacant in Mozambique at a time where the total programme portfolio is at a significant level. 

Given this vacancy at management level, combined with significant levels of programme funding planned in Mozambique for the foreseeable future, this is a great opportunity for the organisation to understand the current gaps and needs for the country office finance and support services (FSS) function going forward. 

As the Senior Finance Consultant, you will provide expert advice on the steps and resources required to transform the FSS function, within the next 12 to 18 months and lead on the implementation the agreed transformation roadmap. 

Further responsibilities include: 

Finance & Support Services transformation 

• Working with a steering group of global and regional senior finance and operations staff to define clear objectives for the transformation of the FSS function in Mozambique. 

• Review all relevant reports and documents and consult with key stakeholders to complete a situation analysis for the MCO FSS function (current strengths, weaknesses, gaps, requirements over the next 3 years, etc.). 

• Work with the MCO management team to develop a 12-month transformation roadmap for approval by the steering group. 

• Lead the implementation of the roadmap and be accountable for completion of agreed milestones. 

• Provide regular reports on progress with implementation of the roadmap to the steering group. 

Interim Finance & Support Services Manager (FSSM) for the country office 

The Senior Finance Consultant will act as an interim FSSM for the country office, and these duties involve: 

Financial Management 

• Ensure financial control and managing risk. 

• Ensure the conformity to the Sightsavers Global Financial Framework. 

• Ensure compliance to all applicable global and local regulations, as well as governance requirements. 

Administration and Support Services 

• Lead in facilitating the implementation of administrative organisational policies and procedures. 

• Manage logistics, supplies, and purchases as per Sightsavers’ procurement policy. 

• Ensure IT Equipment and connectivity for MCO runs in line with IT policies. 

• Support and line manage administrative staff. 

Project and Programme Management 

• Provide effective support to MCO programme teams 

• Support, administer and strengthen financial management, accountability, and capacities of partners. 

• Ensure proper financial monitoring of projects including audit of funds provided. 

• Oversee financial monitoring of partners at all levels. 

Human Resource Management 

• Support the OP&F Senior Human Resources Business Partner in implementing relevant HR policies and procedures at MCO level. 

• Manage and facilitate staff development plans for MCO. 

Skills and Experience 

As the ideal candidate you will hold a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. You will also possess a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA), have extensive experience in financial and operational management, and have experience working for an INGO/NGO in a Finance role. 

Further requirements include: 

• Experience in a management/senior management role. 

• Proven experience in managing staff in a Finance environment. 

• Experience in financial, fund management and donor compliance aspects of programme implementation. 

• Demonstrated stakeholder and change management abilities. 

• Bilingual (lusophone/English).

About GMYF

GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.

GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. These Centres provide an ambitious and enriching curriculum for young people with a wide range of activities. We also jointly own an Outdoors Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. Youth Activites Lead - Main Purpose of the job

To lead day to day operations providing a ‘hands-on’ management role to play & youth workers, oversight of external providers delivering activities to young people at Norbrook. Leading and implementing an enriching youth work curriculum, quality assurance and health and safety standards, providing outstanding outcomes young people. Working with external partners and attending partnership meetings.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

1. Provide curriculum and quality assurance framework for youth work at Norbrook,  providing a vibrant enriching offer for young people including youth voice and residential activities

2. Provide regular one-to-one support, coaching and appraisal of direct reports including Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

3. Support the centre self-evaluation process to inform GMYF Self Improvement Plan

4. Support the wider running of the charity though attendance at meetings and events

5. Complete small scale funding bids to enhance the centre youth offer   

 Health and Safety: 

1. Ensure centres meet health and safety standards/regulations including daily site checks, kitchen hygiene, risk assessments, fire drills, accident, and complaints logs

2. Provide clear guidance to centre staff and user groups on safe and compliant systems to ensure a safe, fit for purpose centre

3. Oversee all off-site trips and visits ensuring they are risk assessed, supervised, staff are briefed and staff understand their roles and responsibilities

4. Ensure a record of young people, staff and visitors on site is maintained

5. Manage a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPE) ensuring centre remains compliant with current H&S requirements e.g. PAT testing, hygiene, shutters

6. Manage centre Assets Register

7. Hold responsibility for centres’ petty cash budget subject to approved limits

8. Line manage youth work team including Youthwork Lead

Curriculum/Safeguarding/Achievements:

1. To work with the Quality Assurance officer to plan and deliver an exciting and vibrant curriculum for children and young people, ensuring the needs of SEND are met

2. Maintain and update direct reports HR files

3. Approve and oversee the work of a range of support agencies to promote the well-being of children and young people e.g. Brook, Lifeline, NHS, Social Services

4. Lead and promote positive attitudes and high standards of performance for staff teams, using de-escalation skills to resolve issues in line with established policies

5. Set high standards for children and young people’s learning which support them to feel safe, ambitious, accepted and valued
