JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
The Individual Giving Manager (Retention) will work within the Public Fundraising Team and play a key part in growing and sustaining income from our individual giving audiences of cash donors and regular giving supporters. You will work closely with the Deputy Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager (Acquisition), Supporter Care Officer and Database Manager and will be responsible for the development, project management and delivery of the supporter retention, renewal and stewardship program. This is a great role for someone with existing individual giving fundraising experience, who would like the opportunity to use analysis and insights to develop and shape retention and stewardship activity, with the drive to deliver a program which aspires be best in class.

Salary
£35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience, based on permanent and full-time (35 hours per week).

Role Responsibilities:
This role plays a key part in driving income growth and sustainability in our Individual Giving programme.
Your priorities will include:
· Driving the strategic and operational planning of Individual Giving to deliver strong income growth and return of investment (ROI), ensuring agreed targets and KPIs are achieved in relation to retention and conversion of existing donors.
· Devising and delivering the overall Individual Giving retention and stewardship budget to maximise opportunities for growth, preparing robust annual income and expenditure budgets and operational plans.
Strategy, planning and delivery:
· Develop and manage donor retention and upgrade for cash donors and regular givers across all channels to increase our supporter base, maximising ROI.
· Devise and deliver the overall Individual Giving retention and stewardship budget to maximise opportunities for growth, preparing robust annual income and expenditure budgets and ops plans, reforecasting these on a quarterly basis and engaging with month end processes.
· Lead the delivery of an impactful stewardship programme, which includes managing the supporter newsletter to optimise donor retention and development across all supporters, delivering exceptional donor experience; oversee timely responses to donors.
· Optimise data and data capture opportunities to help us better understand our supporters, inform strategy and ultimately deliver insight to help drive retention and lifetime value.
· Provide timely high-quality reporting with robust analysis and recommendations to improve performance – utilising your Individual Giving expertise and sector benchmarks.
· Adopt a test and learn mentality to strategic planning, developing new activities to provide the charity with a balanced portfolio of offers for new/existing donors.
· Direct and manage external suppliers to execute the Individual Giving retention programme to meet agreed budgets, timelines and KPIs.
· Support with the selection and appointment process for new external suppliers, effectively managing relationships to ensure the highest quality service.
· Ensure tools and processes are in place to effectively deliver objectives in collaboration with teams across the organisation.
Collaboration
· Identify opportunities to maximise value from our supporter base and seek opportunities to work with colleagues to facilitate cross-selling of relevant initiatives to engage donors, including mid-value, major gifts and legacies for example.
· Work collaboratively across the charity to develop exciting and relevant content across all Individual Giving activity, including the supporter newsletter, working with colleagues to identify where content could be applied to other communications and marketing channels.
· Keep abreast of new trends, tactics and competitor activity within the sector, disseminating new learnings and information throughout the team.
· Ensure that communications are compliant with all relevant bodies including HMRC, Gambling Commission, Fundraising Regulator, ICO, Charity Commission and ASA.
· Support other areas of fundraising by attending events, exhibitions etc. as required by a small team with varied engagements.
Management
· Carry out effective management of the Supporter Care Officer, ensuring the effective deployment of all their responsibilities.
· Be accountable for the management and development of the CRM database to maximise efficiency, working with the Database Manager to resolve any irregularities.
· Work closely with the Database Manager to establish criteria for data selection and extraction as necessary.
· Work with the Database Manager and Supporter Care Officer to ensure all donations are processed swiftly and accurately, Gift Aid income is maximised, and all declarations are collected and accurately recorded for submission to the Finance team.

· Become fully conversant with the aims and objectives of the organisation.

The Charity
GroceryAid has been the charity for the grocery industry since 1857. It provides free and confidential welfare support to anyone working in the grocery industry, from the first day of their employment. More than 350 of the most well-known grocery retailers and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) brands support the charity, enabling us to help more than 44,000 people in the last twelve months alone. The charity raises funds through a highly respected yearly events calendar and the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in Grocery programme.
D&I in Grocery Programme
The programme is delivered and facilitated by GroceryAid, with the support of the Strategy Steering Group and three workstream steering groups, it is a programme truly created for the industry by the industry. With over 90 FMCG partners, it is the largest collaboration of FMCG brands, working towards the common goal to accelerate a truly diverse and inclusive grocery industry. In 2023 the programme provided over 12,562 learning hours across 64 D&I topics. The programme benefits its partners through:
- A 12-month cross-industry mentoring programme which provides equity and opportunity to historically underrepresented communities
- Shared learning resources within The Partner Hub including podcasts, monthly learning labs and cross industry ERG Forums
- D&I in Grocery Live! unites the industry once a year, at the largest D&I event in the grocery sector
- Tracks tangible progress annually through the new D&I in Grocery Maturity Model

Main purpose of the role
As a senior member of the D&I in Grocery team, you will play an integral part in managing partners and supporting them through their D&I journey. Lead on the Mentoring workstream and manage D&I in Grocery’s first ever Maturity Model. The role suits someone with outstanding stakeholder management skills and excellent project management capabilities. The role requires the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously and be flexible in approach to changing responsibilities across workstreams due to the nature of the D&I landscape and fast spaced industry.
Main responsibilities of the role
- Ownership of partner accounts. Building top quality relationships to achieve maximum engagement and support partners with their D&I journey. Ensuring retention year on year
- Lead on the Mentoring workstream with the support of the Mentoring Steering Group

Relationship Management

Mentoring Programme

Project Management
- Responsible for end-to-end project and event delivery, on time, in scope, to budget and highlighting risks
- Ownership of project governance with steering / subgroups, through creating agendas, accurate minutes, proposals, and yearly roadmap. Succession planning for Chair and Deputy Chair rotations every two years
- Track and achieve KPI’s across the programme scorecard

Line Manager: Team Leader (New Fellows)
Objective: The Programme Officer provides individualised support to Fellows, facilitates placements and secures funding. The Programme Officer also contributes to project management activities.

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support to Fellows prior to and after their arrival in the UK.
- Coordinate with regional exam centres to facilitate IELTS or equivalent fee waivers for Fellows.
- Collect and interpret regional intelligence to inform Fellowship Programme advice and guidance.
- Write and send official documents to Fellows.
- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations.

The Master of Research (MRes) in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP) is a two-year Master’s programme, which is a collaboration between Anna Freud, University College London and The Child Study Centre at Yale University in the USA. The MRes brings together thinking from multiple perspectives, with a particular focus in the role of neuroscience in understanding child psychopathology.
This post provides a forum for the successful candidate to develop skills and experience in teaching and delivery of an innovative and well-established MRes programme. The post-holder will be required to undertake several tasks to support the programme including i. delivery of one module in each term (Terms 1, 2 and 3) related to affective and developmental neuroscience; ii. support with marking and assessment of coursework and theses; iii. Support with student pastoral care.
The post-holder will need to have a relevant PhD and/or child clinical qualification at Master’s level or above e.g. Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology with child experience. They will have excellent knowledge of child development across a range of domains, with strong understanding of at least one main theoretical approach. Job Description
Lead on service delivery, management and governance
– To provide strong leadership for the service based on a clear vision for the service, clarity of standards and outcomes to be achieved.
– With the Head of CYP support the strategic development, planning and delivery of specialist EWMH services for children and young people ensuring an effective co-ordinated offer for these families is in place.
– To have the primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and developing consistent and high standards of professional and managerial competence amongst all staff involved in the delivery of EWMH services.
– To provide line management to the Service Managers and named roles above and work with them to ensure they provide an effective service to children, young people and families in Surrey.
– Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of legislation and national policy and to ensure SLT, CYP management team and the service are briefed on changes.
– To have lead responsibility for ensuring EWMH services operates in a way which safeguards children and adults and is fully compliant with safeguarding policy and procedure
– Understand and manage risk and safeguarding issues across the team, being the named lead and providing advice on guidance on all risk and safeguarding issues and escalating cases to DSLs as appropriate.

– Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure services deliver value for money, within budgets and are evidence based, ensuring that services are rigorously evaluated in terms of quality and outcomes and that they continuously improve and are provided in response to children’s needs.
– Maintain up-to-date and detailed knowledge about and relationships with commissioners of services including but not limited to Surrey CC, Surrey Heartlands ICB and various Borough Councils
– Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of EWMH service delivery output, outcomes and targets.
– Represent YMCAES EWMH services on a variety of external forums including Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Training and Development
– Ensure the effective Safer Recruitment and retention of EWMH working with HR colleagues and Head of CYP as appropriate.
– Contribute to an in-house training programme for EWMH staff, CYP staff and volunteers, which is also offered to all YMCA East Surrey staff and volunteers and key partners.

Buildings and Infrastructure

- Ensure all shop opening hours are covered and co-ordinating shop cover when the Managers and Deputy Managers are unable to organise cover for each other or volunteers.
- Contribute to the income generation targets of WBH to achieve maximum profit and sales targets through retail outlets.
- Work with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing on the development of retail portfolio including shops and merchandise.

About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer will have as their overarching purpose the realisation of the mission of the charity; to provide disadvantaged young people with the guidance, networks and opportunities they need to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.
They will be responsible for safeguarding, leadership, financial sustainability, management and administration of the charity in delivering against the mission and in the development and execution of strategy, in agreement with the Board of Trustees.
The Chief Executive Officer will support the Chair to ensure that governance arrangements of the charity are effective and in line with the requirements of the Charity Commission.

IRW’s Network Resource and Development Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Communications Capacity Building Manager’ to join its dynamic Global Family Development team on a full-time, permanent basis, to based out of any of our IR offices globally.
The Communications Capacity Building Manager reports directly to the Global Content Manager and supports the development and implementation of the content vision and strategy. The job holder works primarily with communications colleagues and Country Directors in IR country and hybrid offices to build their capacity and capability in communications, content gathering, media, brand awareness raising and local public engagement. The job holder also works with Member and other IRW stakeholders to ensure the capacity and capabilities in country offices are appropriate for meeting their requirements and business needs.
The role holder also facilitates appropriate communications training for field office staff and acts as an advisor to communications leads in field offices.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· A degree level qualification in communications or a marketing discipline.
· Qualification(s) in media applications would be advantageous.
· Experience in public engagement - communications, fundraising and/or marketing - role(s) within the INGO sector.
· Experience in building and developing use of traditional, new and emerging media channels, technologies and tools especially digital media.
· Experience in visual and other forms of content gathering, curation and dissemination ideally in an international context.
· Experience of managing, overseeing, guiding and coordinating the work of others.
· Proven track record as a project manager, operating within a team with budgetary responsibility and delivering results across a range of activities.
· Experience of managing, building, guiding, training and influencing teams to work collaboratively to a high standard.
· Experience of developing creative brand awareness, fundraising and other marketing campaigns for a variety of audiences.
· Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, within an environment of competing deadlines.
· Understanding of the range of audiences that Islamic Relief wants to communicate with
· Understanding of the purposes, strategies and tools for gathering content for use across range of communications media.
· Demonstrate and continuously develops knowledge of the latest technology for content gathering or curation.
· Fluent written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish is advantageous.
· Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills; the ability to establish effective working relationships with people of all working styles and backgrounds.
· Sound financial and resource management skills that ensure that goals can be achieved
within budgetary constraints.
· Exceptional team-working and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively consult, listen to and influence others as well as the ability to work across different cultures with individuals who face competing demands.
· Strong ability to work calmly under pressure to tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.
· Results focused; able to plan, co-ordinate and deliver on objectives and targets with a positive drive to achieve results.
· Willingness to work autonomously and take the initiative.
· Demonstrable experience of understanding and applying marketing related theoretical concepts

This is a senior, and brand-new role to Refugees at Home. We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience of helping people find permanent accommodation to come into our team to assist our guests directly and upskill colleagues across the organisation to assist our guests to move on from hosting.
We have ambitious plans to increase the number of guests we host, but this is only going to be possible if we provide ways in which guests can move on from their temporary hosting placements. With increasing numbers of housing providers and advice services being overwhelmed, we plan to develop our own support for our guests who self-refer into Refugees at Home.
The new Housing and Move-on Manager will be able to fully shape the service we offer, working closely with our Placement Team Manager to understand the needs and challenges of our guests. You’ll be working with Placement Coordinators to help them understand and create realistic move on plans for our guests.
You will be building excellent relationships with housing and hostel accommodation providers across the UK to find new ways of finding ongoing accommodation for our guests. You’ll use your knowledge and experience of statutory housing duties to ensure those we host who are entitled to support receive it. You’ll be working with guests and our Placement team to upskill them on avenues to privately renting accommodation.
This is likely to be a role which changes over time, so we are looking for someone ready for this, bringing innovative solutions so that we can ensure that hosting remains a temporary stop gap for refugees.
Our work is underpinned by trauma-informed working, and you will be continuing this through your work with guests.
Our team are based in Brixton, South London for part of the week, we are able to offer other flexibility on location of work for the right candidate.
