About the Role
The focus of this permanent role is to manage the development and growth of the Strategic Programmes, in line with the organisations new strategy and core mission to end youth homelessness. As a charitable trust the core purpose includes distributing grants to create sustainable routes out of homelessness and into sustainable independent living for young people.
The Strategic Programmes’ team are responsible for brokering services for charity partners that broaden the offer above and beyond the core grants in three different areas:
- Pro Bono
- Employability
- Property Donation
The focus for all three programmes is now on their growth and the maximisation of their social impact. This follows a period of development and refresh for Pro Bono, and the successful piloting of the newer Employability and Property Donation programmes. All three programmes have proven to be successful, sustainable and scalable. This role is primarily concerned with maintaining the management of the programmes whilst working alongside the Head of Strategic Programmes to enhance them and expand their reach.
The charity relies heavily on the voluntary support of its corporate partners from the real estate industry and this role will work closely with these partners to maximise their contribution to the mission to end youth homelessness. The role will also require you to work closely with charity partners to ensure that the programmes deliver against their needs for maximum impact
Your principal responsibilities will be project management, relationship management, impact & evaluation and communications.
About You
We are looking for someone with a demonstrable interest in CSR, and how businesses can be supported to achieve social impact.
You will also have:
- Experience of designing or delivering CSR or volunteering programmes in support of vulnerable or disadvantaged groups of people
- Experience of developing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders
- Experience of monitoring, analysing and providing robust evaluation and reporting of projects and programmes of work

Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation

Are you aware of the significant health inequalities that people with a learning disability face in the UK and levels of avoidable deaths? Are you passionate about access to justice for the families of people with a learning disability who have died avoidably in acute healthcare settings?
We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Casework Manager (Helpline) to join our committed information and advice team covering England at Mencap on a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 2 years.
Here at Mencap we are a leading charity providing advice, support and opportunities to people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The role will lead on supporting families to get answers about how their loved ones died and change across the healthcare system to prevent future deaths.
The role is flexible in terms of location, which can include home working, using Mencap’s office bases, such as in London and Peterborough, and will include some national travel, for example to inquest hearings or to meet families when needed.
About the Role
As Legal Casework Manager (Helpline), you’ll provide advice, support, and casework assistance to families facing complex legal issues, specifically relating to people with a learning disability who have died in avoidable circumstances across England, mainly within the healthcare system. Working within a small, supportive team, you’ll manage your own caseload, contribute to the body of knowledge about avoidable deaths and help empower families to understand and exercise their rights and get answers through the inquest and other investigations processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice and casework support for families.
· Work closely with clients, many of whom will be distressed, ensuring a sensitive, trauma informed and professional approach
· Maintain up-to-date case records and comply with quality and regulatory standards
· Support strategic litigation and advocacy efforts where appropriate
· Liaise with other charities, coroners, legal professionals, and agencies to support families to get answers
· Work towards a world where people with a learning disability are no more at risk of death in hospitals, than any other person
· Manage a team of caseworkers working across different areas of advice.
About You
We’re looking for someone:
· Legally qualified in the UK or similar jurisdiction with at least 3 years post qualification, working in either clinical negligence, inquests or inquiries. Or similar number of years working as a senior case worker in an inquest/clinical negligence/inquiries advice role.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach
· Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently
· Ability to travel effectively to support families at inquests, and to attend meetings
· A clear understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and in maintaining their emotional wellbeing in distressing situations
· Strong management skills and ability to supervise, coach and mentor colleagues.
· Experience of accurately recording client case records and use of CRM/client database system

The successful individual will lead on strategic financial planning and financial day to day management at Girls Not Brides to advance our business model, financial sustainability and growth. The role ensures effective financial functions across the organisation, manages compliance with UK and overseas regulatory requirements, and works closely and hands on with other teams to oversee the preparation of proposals and budgets for prospective grants.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a passionate, talented senior finance professional with at least 5 years post qualified experience. You will have experience working in a similar senior-level finance role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have qualified and hold membership in a recognised professional accountancy body. Your qualification and experience will ensure you hold an advanced understanding of the principles underpinning financial management and planning, with significant all-round accounting, financial management, full grants cycle management, compliance, risk and financial sustainability experience. You will be experienced in year-end reporting and proficient in engaging with statutory and other auditors. Ideally you will bring experience gained in a similar international charity, working in a multi-currency environment.
The successful candidate must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of applying and for the duration of the contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership
· Lead on strategic financial planning and financial management at Girls Not Brides to advance the organisation’s business model, financial sustainability, and growth through long-range financial projection and planning, maximisation of income, and strong financial reporting.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential experience
· ACA/ACCA/CCAB/CIMA qualified.
· Significant professional post-qualified experience in a similar senior-level finance role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise
· Degree-level qualification in a relevant area such as accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent professional experience.

You will line manage and supervise highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Adult Team Manager, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four-year strategy and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.
About the role
This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:
- To work with the Adult Team Manager and Heads of Clinical Services to implement FFT’s strategic goals. It will involve providing line management to paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland).

About you
This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. Charity People is delighted to be partnering with AdviceUK to recruit for their next Digital Communications Officer.
Since 1979, Advice UK has been supporting advice organisations by helping them to be efficient, competent and effective, and by campaigning for a policy environment that supports advice agencies and people needing advice. They are a small but mighty charity who support their members to provide advice to 2.8 million people in 2024 alone. They are working towards a world in which every individual, regardless of means, is able to access the advice they need in order to exercise their rights and deal with any legal and social welfare challenges they may face.
The Digital Communications Officer is responsible for developing and delivering dynamic digital content to inform, engage, and motivate diverse audiences, helping to raise awareness of AdviceUK's work and the support they offer to the advice sector. The role will ensure a consistent voice across social media, websites, and email communications to enhance visibility, strengthen member and stakeholder engagement, and market benefits, products and services to customers, members and potential new members.
Contract: Permanent role
Salary: £27,365 plus Regional Weighting (up to £4,677 in London). All staff also receive £600 per year work from home allowance
Location: Hybrid role which will be predominantly home-based with some travel and meetings in London
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week with flexible working options fully supported

As Digital Communications Officer your core responsibilities will include:
- Creation of engaging, accessible and inclusive digital content to promote AdviceUK's services and campaigns, upholding AdviceUK's brand identity across all digital channels.
- Filming, photographing, creating, and scheduling organic and paid digital media content.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to tell impactful, human-centered stories from members and stakeholders.
- Leading on social media strategy and daily activity across social media platforms, identifying opportunities for storytelling and member engagement.
- Maintaining, improving and optimising AdviceUK's websites using WordPress, ensuring SEO optimisation and user-friendly design.
- Support on the delivery and tracking of AdviceUK's annual communications plan across target audiences.
- Creating and maintaining resources such as; news posts, articles, case studies, infographics, images, vlogs and blogs for the website.
- Support with email communications including newsletters and email communications using tools like Bee Pro and Marketing Cloud.
- Identification and implementation of improvements to enhance marketing effectiveness; including staying up-to-date with the latest trends, innovations and practices in web design and digital communications.
- Provision of analysis and reporting to support decision-making, collaborating with colleagues to maintain data quality.
- Conducting market research and gathering member and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies.
- Analysis of digital performance using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite Meta Business Suite, and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement email reports to inform strategy.
We'd love to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Strong experience in a digital communications or marketing role, ideally in a similar sized organisation with a social purpose. Commercial B2B experience is desirable but not essential.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver digital campaigns across social media, websites, and email.
- Strong copywriting, editing and storytelling skills with a flair for creative communication.
- Experience creating a range of digital content including video, infographics and blogs.
- Confident using digital communications tools including Hootsuite, WordPress, Salesforce or other CRM, and ideally Marketing Cloud Account Management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decision making.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
