Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK as a Mass Participation Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of the charity’s mass participation fundraising programme by coordinating day-to-day activities and ensuring an exceptional experience for our supporters. You will be the first point of contact for fundraising enquiries, provide administrative support across the team, and help maintain efficient systems and processes that underpin the success of our campaigns.

In this role, you will engage with our online communities, writing compelling social media content, and supporting stewardship activities to inspire and motivate our supporters. You will also assist with the delivery of virtual events, help improve internal processes, and work closely with colleagues to ensure the supporter experience remains at the heart of everything we do.

Other key elements of the role will be to maintain the fundraising database, MS Dynamics, to ensure all supporter information is accurate and up to date, and to support and onboard Volunteer Facebook Group Champions, ensuring they receive key documents, have clarity around campaigns they will be supporting on, and ensure they feel valued.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme.
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room.
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively.

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees.

Training the Asssistant Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Assistant Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback.

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics.

As Executive Assistant with Clean Air Fund you would support both the Executive Director of Breathe Cities & the Director of Breathe Cities - who are part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). As the Executive Assistant (EA), working alongside the Senior Executive Assistant and Support Manager (SEA&SM), and CEO Office team, this role ensures the Directors and their teams are supported to work efficiently and effectively and that team projects are facilitated to run smoothly. It’s a role at the heart of a fast-moving organisation combating air pollution. Supporting governance is part of the role through the coordination of preparation for Board and Committee meetings.

You would be responsible for diary management, which includes a lot of complex international travel and coordinating the preparations for high-profile international events. The post holder manages the Executive’s emails to ensure that they give their attention to organisational priorities – both internal and external. There is scope for initiative, taking on the organisation of convenings, surveys and small conferences.

Out "Kitchen at the Stud" project is a new initiative funded in partnership with the Royal Borough of Richmond. The Kitchen is a fully refurbished resource at the heart of our Horticultural Service based in grounds of Hampton Court Palace.

The Community Garden is an extensive horticultural resource and the kitchen project is an integrated part of our developing programme of learning and skills development. The Kitchen Lead will work with the garden team in building the kitchen into both a publicly accessible amenity, a training resource, seasonal cafe available on open days and for targeted group dining in addition to exploring the potential for product lines for public sale.

Summary of the role:

The Community Fundraising Assistant (Ramadan Campaign) plays a crucial role during Ramadan. The role provides critical support in fundraising collections and events.  The role will involve working occasional unsociable hours (weekends and evenings) and national travel, sometimes at short notice, during the Ramadan period to maximise our income generating opportunities.

About the Role:

1. The main responsibilities of the role are lister below.  Other tasks may be assigned on an ad hoc basis in support of our Ramadan fundraising activities.
2. Attend mosques and Islamic institutions to collect donations and pledges in response to Muslim Aid’s appeals, supporting mosque collections through fundraising, data capture, and donor engagement.
3. Set up and break down fundraising events, assisting with event setup, registration, and coordination across multiple venues.
4. Provide administrative and logistical assistance before, during, and after events to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
5. Assist in the logistical coordination of Muslim Aid’s Live Appeals, helping to ensure all operational and support activities run effectively.
6. Support and assist volunteers in running and managing fundraising activities, providing guidance and ensuring a positive experience for supporters.
