Job Purpose
 
As BSR’s Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing BSR’s membership offer. You’ll work on plans to recruit members across a range of roles in the rheumatology specialty and engagement tactics to ensure members are retained year on year. 

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, Communications and Membership, you’ll drive forward a compelling value proposition for membership by refining our benefits package and developing tailored audience content. With responsibility for our digital-first membership engagement plans, you’ll work on strategies that drive our engagement, provide real-time feedback and give us insight into how our members behave. 

You’ll lead and coach a Membership Executive to develop their skills and together, provide excellent customer service and membership experience. 

Main responsibilities

Membership recruitment and retention 

• Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new members

This role involves managing key operational and governance functions, supporting the Executive Director and President, and ensuring the smooth running of various committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The Executive Administrator will also assist with the ABN fellowship scheme.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Administrator

Executive & Governance Support

• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and President.
• Manage the President’s inbox, responding to or escalating queries as appropriate.

About the role

As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022 - 2027 strategy. Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing women’s voices from every marginalised community in our society.

The Health Collective Community Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.

About the Bid Manager and Write Role: 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bid Manager and Writer to join our dynamic Bid Team within the Development, Marketing, and Communications Department. This role is critical to driving our growth, securing new opportunities, and retaining existing contracts.

In this hands on role, you will hit the ground running, using your previous experience and knowledge to gather information and will utilise this to write competitive bids and proposals which can help secure new opportunities for the growth of our charity. SIG is a complex, growing organisation, supporting those with various complex needs in residential and non residential settings. Our Business Development team are vital in securing new and existing contracts to grow the services that we can offer to our residents and participants.

You will lead on competitive tendering processes, crafting high-quality bids and proposals that align with our mission and values. You will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from market engagement to submission, ensuring compliance and quality at every stage. You will work closely with senior directors, commissioners, and internal stakeholders to develop compelling submissions that meet financial targets and organisational goals. You will work independently but also part of the wider bid team, collaborating with subject matter experts as required. 

Overview of key responsibilities:

• Lead on the development and submission of competitive bids, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
• Collaborate with senior directors and internal teams to secure approvals and budgets for bids.
• Produce high-quality, engaging proposals that clearly articulate SIG’s vision, services, and value to commissioners and funders.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and commissioners.
• Conduct market research and stay informed about trends in social care, healthcare, and procurement to inform bid strategies.
• Work closely with the Bid Coordinator to draft, review, and finalise submissions.
• Attend market engagement events, service visits, and approval meetings to gain insights and represent SIG.  

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience in bid and proposal writing and management, with a track record of securing new contracts and retaining existing ones.
• Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
• A keen eye for attention to detail
• Ability to produce high-quality, engaging content.
• Ideally, we would love someone who has experience within securing bids and proposals within the voluntary, social care, or healthcare sector.
• A good understanding of social care, healthcare, or procurement, with the ability to translate complex needs into compelling bids.
• Confidence in liaising with senior stakeholders, including directors and commissioners, and leading approval meetings.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using tender portals.
• A self-motivated, proactive individual who can take ownership of bids and drive them to successful completion.

Evidence Synthesis Manager

The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

The ability to undertake research of highly sensitive topics - this will involve being exposed to research into issues relating to child protection - is essential.

A project management qualification and experience of evaluation methodologies would be desirable. Familiarity with clinical guideline development methodology along with familiarity with carrying out statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA and/or Review Manager would also be desirable.

The Senior Organic Social Media Manager will play a leading role in UNICEF UK’s Organic Social team. You will support the Head of Organic Social Media to deliver an engaging social media strategy with our audience across our channels, supervising two and supporting the Head of Organic Social Media. 

You will be responsible for ensuring the content on our channels supports UNICEF UK’s strategic priorities and upholds our brand values and inclusive storytelling principles. You will have a keen editorial eye across copy and content, collaborating with team members and key stakeholders to deliver best practice social media content.

This is a versatile role which requires significant experience and knowledge of audience insights and behaviour and the ability to apply this insight and evidence in an external and internal context to inform decision making. You will have significant experience of working in organic social media and communications for a complex global organisation with significant experience in risk management and mitigation in the social space. You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, at times this will include our Global Head Quarters. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Organic Social Media during times of crisis communications, including social listening.

This role will require some out-of-hours and weekend work for large-scale events, and you will join the team as a representative of the out-of-hours on call rota.
