About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Partner to provide family leave cover until September 2026.  This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well established team, providing finance and business support to Heads of Department within our Communities and System Partnerships division, and their teams.

You will be monitoring the budget that the teams invest in grants that are awarded to the external partners with whom Macmillan works to support people living with cancer. This investment funds established roles such as Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialists and Macmillan Support Workers, as well as new, innovative ways to reach minority groups in the community or to lead whole system change for cancer care. 

You will be working with the teams to accurately forecast their full year expenditure, maintain the latest view of their spend for the year and review the monthly management accounts to highlight and investigate variances.

You will work closely with a Senior Finance Business Partner and other Finance Partners mainly online and through occasional in person get-togethers. Wider Finance team meetings are held face to face quarterly in London.

We are looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to provide effective financial management, accurate financial reporting and oversee the facilities management of the Trust’s offices. The Finance & Operations Manager will manage a team of 2 and be part of the Trust’s People Manager Team.

Contract terms:

Summary of key duties:

Financial Management and Reporting

· Develop, implement and operate monitoring systems for financial forecasting and re-forecasting to support sound decision making.

· Lead on and co-ordinate the annual budgeting and planning process ensuring that information is collected, compiled and reported in a timely manner to the Leadership Team for review and recommendation to the Finance & Audit Committee.

· Produce quarterly and annual internal finance report and management accounts for reporting to the Leadership Team and Finance & Audit Committee, which summarise budget trends, analyse and report variance.

· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, through liaisons with the Trust’s external auditors for preparing of the SORP financial statements.

Policy and Procedures

· Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement policies, procedures and systems ensuring best value is achieved across all activities.

· Lead on the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring appropriate cover is in place and general administration of the Trust’s insurance policies is enacted.

Payroll

· Maintain payroll processing system and run the monthly payroll.

Facilities Management

· Support the development of a 5 year planned preventative maintenance plan for the Trust’s premises, to support budget and resource planning.

· Oversee the management of the Trust’s premises ensuring contracts are in place and appropriately managed to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the building and that all health and safety requirements are met.

Line management responsibilities

· Provide line management to the Finance Co-ordinator and Workplace & Facilities Manager, enacting the Trust’s management processes to ensure that all employees are motivated, supported and enabled to give of their best.

· Contribute to Trust-wide people management policies, procedures and team culture as a member of the People Manger Team.

Essential Knowledge and Experience 

· Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or experience to this level (E).

· Practical knowledge and understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.

· In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting and preparation of financial reports for senior management and compliance purposes.

· Line management experience to foster a productive and supportive team environment.

Summary of skills

· Strong numerical and analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports.

· Proactive problem-solver, demonstrating high levels of initiative, organisation and flexibility.

To contribute to the financial management of the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) with primary responsibility for various Country team’s project financials and shared responsibility for HQ project financials. To assist with any other project that arise and day to day finance tasks.

This role requires someone with excellent administrative, organisational and financial management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams with care and precision. 

You will work closely with the Clinical Director, Board, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality therapeutic services, manage projects, support fundraising and communications, and ensure our facilities meet the needs of both clinicians and the community. The Centre Manager must be able to work independently and take initiative, whilst also being a collaborative member of a small team. As the face of the organisation, you will be based on-site and have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with people from all walks of life. 

Key Responsibilities are as follows:

Strategic Leadership: Work with the Directors and Advisory Board to support long-term planning and strategic development. Creatively implement systems and structures to maximise service delivery, productivity, and income. 

Operations and Facilities Management: Oversee the booking and management of clinic and event rooms, maintain high standards of customer service for building users and visitors, liaise with contractors regarding building maintenance and manage the general upkeep of facilities to maintain a high standard of health and safety. Respond to issues in a timely manner and maintain relationships with building users. 

Financial Management: Lead the financial management of the organisation, monitoring project budgets, invoices, licences and debtors. Chair a monthly finance subcommittee meeting and maintain an overview of the entire organisation’s cash flow and projection. 

Governance: Act as the main point of contact for the board of directors and advisors. Prepare and attend monthly board meetings. 

Programme and Event Delivery: Coordinate internal and public events including lectures, film screenings, and workshops - providing logistical and operational support including ticketing, promotions and managing event staff/volunteers. 

Clinical Project Management: Lead operational delivery of funded projects including two subsidised psychotherapy schemes: tracking budgets, collating outcome measures, writing reports, managing timelines and liaising with clinicians and patients. This also includes managing referral pathways, responding to enquiries from patients, sharing referrals with clinicians, and line managing an administrator who supports these tasks. 

Outreach Programme Management: Coordinate our multiple outreach programmes such as two Therapeutic Playgroups, one of which is for refugees and asylum seekers. This involves acting as the main point of contact for programme staff, reporting on their activities and progress to the board, and maintaining the operational frameworks necessary to allow the programmes to thrive. 

HR: Manage all HR elements of the organisation including but not limited to: advertising and recruiting roles, drafting contracts, keeping an up to date log of internal policies, and handling any staff concerns with discretion and professionalism.

Development and Fundraising: Support grant research, writing, and application processes in collaboration with the Development Coordinator. You will be required to liaise with key funders and maintain records, reports, and track project outcomes.

Communications: Lead on internal and external communications, including newsletters, social media and website content.

In this vital role, you will ensure strong financial controls across all areas of the charity, manage income and expenditure, and lead on statutory accounts preparation, payroll, VAT, pensions, and tax compliance. We are looking for a qualified accountant who has experience of charity finance at a similar level, an in depth understanding of charity VAT and experience running in-house payroll processes. You will have the ability to explain financial information and produce financial reports for a wide variety of audiences. High level of IT skills particularly around data manipulation and Microsoft Excel is essential. As a line manager to three members of staff, you’ll have previous experience in managing a team in a supportive and effective manner. Experience of a retail environment, familiarity with fundraising methods and regulations, and experience of finance system implementation is highly desirable.

The role is based in Norfolk and is currently a hybrid split of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and 3 days at home. You may be required to attend events around the UK so the ability to travel occasionally is necessary.

Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. This would include other Centre Managers in other James’ Place centres in the UK, the Senior Management Team, and potentially trustees.

We are looking for a forward thinking and proactive individual with experience of both people and operational management. You will work directly with the trustees of both charities and the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) which comprises of the Director of Development, the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) (Director of HR and Programmes), and the Chief Executive. You will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the charities meet their statutory obligations, that financial functions are well ordered and support the work of the charities.
Managing and leading a small and diverse team through high pressure periods including month end, year-end and annual budgeting, you require high emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with staff at all levels, often having to mentor the charities’ managers to help them plan and manage their own budgets.
Your financial responsibilities are substantial as you will have overall control and responsibility for all financial matters. You will be thinking both strategically and seeing the big picture, whilst also analysing figures in detail to ensure that the financial management of both charities are sound. In periods of change and growth, it is critical that you are effective in coordinating corporate finance (funding sources, non-profit capital structuring and investment decisions) and managing charity policies regarding capital requirements to deliver against each charity’s objects and plans, taxation, equity and investments as appropriate.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK. 

STEP aims to improve integration for refugees through a targeted employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK. We support all refugees, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and identify the opportunities they need to secure sustainable employment.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to manage and develop our successful STEP Forward programme, which focuses specifically on reducing the barriers faced by women refugees and supporting them make informed decisions about their lives and continued integration pathways. This role will focus on developing STEP Forward, building and implementing new initiatives using robust evidence and MEL to improve the programme, securing funding and general management of the programme to ensure it meets KPIs.

About you

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Demonstrable experience of managing livelihoods programming, ideally within the refugee or migration sector
• Demonstrable experience of working on programmes supporting women
• Understanding of the barriers faced by refugee women
• Experience supporting and working alongside delivery partners
• Demonstrable experience of monitoring and evaluation processes
• Experience leading teams and supporting staff development
• Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office and CRM databases
• Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people with experience of forced migration in accessing employment
• Experience in grant management, including reporting requirements and managing budgets
• Proficiency in data analysis and using data to drive decision making
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
