Financial Operations Lead | Permanent | London - Hybrid | £43,941 + Benefits

For a well-known UK charity, we're recruiting a Financial Operations Lead on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Operations Lead will oversee all processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, accruals and prepayments, as well as VAT returns, and all day-to-day banking, credit card and investment matters. The Financial Operations Lead is a key role, supporting staff queries, liaising with HR on payroll returns, and supporting the development of robust month-end processes across the team.

What you'll be doing:

• Financial Transactions - support AP processing, and approval of invoices on the AR ledger
• Prepare payroll journals and reconcile all payroll information
• Prepare accruals and prepayments for income and expenditure and support month-end accounts
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns
• Support year-end with the preparation of note to the accounts including payroll, banking, fixed assets and investments
• Liaise with bank, investment fund managers and credit card providers
• Support wider teams with finance queries, and financial compliance procedures
• Payroll - check all finance aspects of the payroll before final sign-off and work closely with HR team to ensure payroll system is compliant with HMRC guidelines
• Develop improvements within the finance ledger and HR systems, and support the training and roll-out of any new systems updates

This includes overseeing how our delivery connects to system priorities, responds to emerging opportunities, and contributes to our financial sustainability. You will also provide strategic insight to support planning, funding, and future direction.

This is a leadership role for someone who can build trust, speak with credibility, and stand firm in their values. You will need the insight to understand how systems work, and the confidence to push for change when they do not work for the people they are meant to serve.

The Cross-regional Strategic Lead holds senior responsibility for regional engagement, system influence, and delivery oversight at a strategic level.

The role is anchored in Yorkshire and Humber, where you will need to be well-connected and regularly present. You will also work across the Northeast as part of a joined-up, cross-regional team.

About the role

The Warehouse and Driver Assistant at Crisis is a varied and fulfilling role. You will work with the Warehouse & Facilities Manager to ensure a safe and tidy working environment at the Crisis Warehouse. In collaboration with the Resourcing Team, you will take control of the collection and delivery of donated and resourced food and equipment needed for the Christmas event. You shall act as key support to the Warehouse Manager in organising outgoing stock for the Christmas event and ensuring an accurate stock take once the Christmas event has taken place.

The role acts as a key contact point and support for teams of volunteers in the warehouse. Supporting the supervision of volunteers, including large groups of corporate volunteers is a key aspect in helping the warehouse run smoothly.

About you

• You should have experience in warehousing, delivery driving, logistics, event management or production.
• Have a personality which enables you to effectively communicate, with confidence, to a wide range of audiences.
• Feel comfortable when driving in London, in various size vehicles. Up to and including a Luton van, with a tailgate.
• Have a mind-set where problem solving, and basic mental arithmetic comes easy.

About the Choir with No Name

The Choir with No Name has been running choirs involving people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation since 2008, and we currently have choirs in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Coventry, Sheffield and Brighton. We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Each choir gets together to rehearse every week and share a meal together at the end of rehearsal. Our values are family, fun, inclusion and integrity.

We are looking for maternity cover for our part-time Finance and Data Administrator role. As Finance and Data Administrator, you should have a proactive mindset and a positive attitude. You should have some previous administrative experience and a meticulous attention to detail. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Choir with No Name’s finances and impact data. JOB DESCRIPTION

Invoices and expenses

1. Inputting all expense invoices, staff expenses & petty cash transactions into accounting software (Xero), ensuring everything is coded to the right budget line
2. Issuing invoices for suppliers, ensuring payments are received in a timely manner and recording them in Xero.
3. Sending a monthly reminder to freelancers and choir managers to submit invoices & completed petty cash books in time for month end deadline
4.  Saving invoices into SharePoint and ensuring these records are complete and up to date every month
5. Cross checking bank statements with income and expenses, ensuring all transactions are accounted for, identifying missing invoices/receipts and chasing the relevant staff
6. Updating our contact and invoicing details with suppliers and freelancers

Donation administration

1. Recording all donations & donor info in our donor CRM database (eTapestry)
2. Producing income queries and reports when required

Impact data

1. Inputting member survey data as well as other impact data as needed
2. Producing reports on impact data as needed

Finance reporting

1. Input cash basis income and expenditure into a monthly cash flow spreadsheet and create summaries for Choir Managers
2. Consolidating income data from multiple online donation platforms and in varied formats into a single monthly report
3. Producing month end platform and database income reports for our bookkeeper
4. Support the Head of Development with month and quarter end reporting for the board of trustees.

Location: Although this role is home based, the applicant should be based in Cardiff due to the regular travel across the area. There is also requirement to travel across the wider area of Wales and West of England.

In September 2024, National Numeracy launched a new ‘Schools & Families’ programme to support Primary School staff, parents and carers in increasing pupils’ confidence with numbers, positive feelings about maths, and awareness of the value of maths outside of the classroom. The programme also works to improve parents’, carers’, and school staff’s own confidence with numbers and with supporting children with their maths.

The programme has been hugely successful and is growing rapidly – we have now secured funding to deliver activity in all four nations of the UK and we are working with almost 300 schools currently.

The Schools & Families Programme Officer will support the Schools & Families Programme Manager in managing fast-paced activity across the UK, particularly delivering online training directly to school staff, recruiting schools, and visiting selected schools to ensure the success of the programme.

National Numeracy has an office in Falmer near Brighton, in East Sussex, but the expectation for this role is that you will be based at home, travelling occasionally as needed across the UK.

Crossness Pumping Station is a unique, world heritage site built in 1865 to help rid London of cholera. Lying abandoned since the 1950s, it has been lovingly restored by a group of enthusiasts and volunteers since 1987. We are moving into the next phase of our development as a museum and need to improve our support to existing volunteers and recruitment of new ones. This role will be fundamental to achieving our strategic goals and future business plan.

About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the recruitment, induction, training and support of volunteers for Crossness Engines Trust.

This role will ensure that volunteers are effectively integrated into the organisation and feel valued, motivated and equipped to contribute to its mission.
