About the role:

At Single Homeless Project (SHP), we believe lasting change is possible, and as a Project Worker in our Services in Camden, you will be at the heart of making that change happen. What skills will I need?

• Significant experience of using Power BI, familiar with creating advanced data models, data flows and DAX language, using outputs to make actionable dashboards and insights.

• Relevant experience of manipulating a broad range of data sets for reporting needs or driving out insight (i.e. SQL, R, and Python)

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (experience in creating macros advantageous but not essential).

• Experience of Google Analytics advantageous but not essential

• Experience of leading and delivering projects with proven impact and demonstrating excellent project management and planning skills with ability to prioritise workload

About the Role

The Referrals Practitioner supports all aspects of our referral process – from handling enquiries and assessing applications to ensuring smooth, safe, and supportive arrivals for new residents. Working alongside the Referrals Coordinator, you will:

• Carry out assessments in line with Nehemiah’s admissions procedures

About the role

As the HLA Sales Lead, you will lead and manage commercial activity for HLA-Enterprise (HLA-E), driving the growth and diversification of income streams by selling our innovative learning products and services to individuals and organisations in the humanitarian and development sectors.

You will be responsible for acquiring new partners and renewing and expanding existing ones. Many families we work with also struggle with hunger, grief and anxiety, and just don’t know where to turn for support. Our volunteers are a lifeline to hundreds of families each year, offering one-to-one home-visiting and a wide range of support for parents to ensure that their children have the best start in life. We are seeking a Volunteering and Engagement Coordinator to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking change-maker to test new approaches to engaging with local communities and potential volunteers. You will understand the importance of brand and positive messaging, and will be able to use a variety of techniques including social media to promote volunteering opportunities to different communities of interest.

Additionally, the postholder will be an inclusive and engaging communicator, with the ability to build supportive relationships with a diverse group of volunteers. The postholder will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families we work with, and that high standards of practice are maintained. You will promote initiatives to increase the retention of existing volunteers and ensure that they are recognised and rewarded for their work.

The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training in Barnet, Brent and Harrow and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

We are creating a new Senior Women’s Caseworker role to deliver tailored health advocacy and support to women experiencing homelessness.

You will:

• Provide one-to-one advocacy for around 35 women annually across 11 London boroughs.
• Attend approximately 250 healthcare appointments each year with clients.
• Deliver 20 women-only health promotion sessions, reaching around 100 women.
• Co-create three new resources on women’s health with clients for wider distribution.
• Support the HHPA team to embed women-centred approaches into the broader service.
• Build and maintain partnerships with women’s services, NHS providers, and local authorities.

Role Purpose

The Policy and Impact Team sits at the heart of Volunteering Matters. We play a vital role in demonstrating the impact of our work connecting data, qualitative insight, and lived experience to the policy agendas shaping communities across the UK. Through storytelling, analysis, and evidence, we make sure volunteering is recognised as a driving force for social change.

We are a small, hands-on team. You will be involved in every aspect of our work from desk-based research and writing briefings to organising external meetings and working directly in communities alongside our volunteers. This variety allows you to connect national policy with local realities and help volunteers share their voices where it matters most.

 You will help bring our five-year strategy to life by linking project outcomes to broader societal developments and showcasing the impact of volunteers and communities.

Key Duties Responsibilities

· Support the Head of Policy and Impact to coordinate Volunteering Matters’ policy and public affairs work.

· Support people involved with our volunteering projects to engage with local politicians, e.g. by organising visits to projects or meetings with volunteers. 

· Monitor and respond to opportunities (e.g. relevant government consultations, All-Party Parliamentary Group inquiries or Select Committee inquiries) that are relevant to Volunteering Matters’ priorities.

· Support mapping and research exercises to inform our policy positioning. Writing summary reports as needed.

· Collaborate with the National Volunteer Engagement Manager to support the inclusion of volunteer and community voices in our policy and public affairs work.

· Assist with collecting impact and activity data from across the charity and work with the Data Analyst to undertake analysis.

· Support with routine collection of quarterly data from projects - ensuring responses are timely and accurate, providing guidance to project managers as needed.

· Work with project staff to help create impactful and engaging reports.

· Represent Volunteering Matters at charity and volunteering policy-related groups. 

 Essential Skills

· Understanding of UK political systems and policy-making processes across national, devolved, and local levels.

· Understanding of policy, public affairs, or influencing, ideally within the voluntary or community sector.

· Confident communicator, able to engage with policymakers, sector partners, and community representatives.

· Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform narrative reporting and strategic insight.

· Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive documents based on data and lived experience.

· Alignment with Volunteering Matters’ values and a commitment to amplifying community voice.

· Must adhere to the organisation’s Code of Conduct and uphold its values at all times.

· Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, with the ability to manage email communications and collaborate digitally.

· Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing time and priorities in a busy environment.

· For remote roles, candidates must be self-starters who can work with minimal supervision, stay organised, and remain motivated to meet deadlines and deliver quality outcomes.

· Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and information sharing.

Banana Link is a UK based NGO established in 1996. We have been advocating for a fair and sustainable banana industry for thirty years, based on environmental, social and economic sustainability. Our approach is underpinned by a firm commitment to defending workers’ rights, at the core of these rights is the right to a fair and decent income that affords a dignified life for men and women banana plantation workers. We work at a strategic level and through research, advocacy and dialogue with all actors along the chain to bring about change.

This role will support the management and delivery our current work stream on Living Wages in the African Banana Export Industry. Initial activities will be delivered in Ghana and Cameroon, in collaboration with our local and international trade union partners, local producing companies, and European retailers. Key project activities include: 

- Facilitation of capacity building activities on Living Wages and Decent Work in Cameroon and Ghana, with company staff and trade union representatives.
- Communication and dialogue between all project partners and other industry stakeholders towards fair remuneration and decent work in the banana industry.
