What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the Lead Recruiter by identifying, engaging and nurturing prospective volunteers, helping match the right people to the right opportunities at the right time. You’ll grow and maintain our Talent Community, build new partnerships, and engage with networks across the UK and beyond. One day you may be sourcing candidates online, another you may be connecting with training institutions, hosting webinars, or representing Mercy Ships at events.

  About the role  

This newly established role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of major donor fundraising at the RAF Association. As Major Donor Manager, you will lead the creation and delivery of a pioneering programme designed to attract and nurture high-value supporters. With full ownership of the strategy, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors during this crucial launch phase. Acting as a passionate advocate for major giving, you will build authentic, two-way relationships with donors and key stakeholders. Collaborating closely with colleagues across Partnerships & Events, Marketing, Fundraising, and Trading, you will help drive the Association’s fundraising ambitions and advance its mission to provide vital support to the RAF community. 

Primary responsibilities 

• Lead the development and delivery of a strategic, sustainable major donor fundraising programme. 

• Identify, research, and build a strong pipeline of prospective major donors, focusing on gifts of six and seven figure gifts. 

• Personally manage a portfolio of high-value donors, overseeing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to secure one-off and multi-year gifts. 

• Develop tailored engagement plans to ensure donors feel valued and connected to the impact of their support. 

• Create compelling, personalised proposals, communications, and impact reports to inspire and retain support. 

• Plan and deliver major donor cultivation events in partnership with the Events Manager. 

• Represent the Association at external events to build relationships and raise the profile of major giving. 

• Be accountable for achieving a personal annual income target.

About you  

Educated to degree level or with considerable equivalent experience, you will have proven track record in securing, managing, and growing high-value donor relationships. You will be a strategic thinker with experience designing and delivering fundraising strategies at a senior level. You will need to demonstrate experience in building and managing prospect pipelines, conducting due diligence, risk assessments and managing donor agreements along with a strong understanding of fundraising legislation and best practice. We need you to be a confident networker with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to enable you to craft and deliver compelling, tailored proposals and pitches.You will need to be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Due to the nature of the role, the Major Donor Manager will represent the RAF Association at prestigious briefings and events which will require occasional travel and overnight stays.

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, you’ll have the freedom and trust to review our current approach and design a fresh, strategic programme of marketing and PR activity that truly reflects our values, our mission, and our ambitions.

With 50 years of history, Greyhound Trust has long been at the heart of helping retired greyhounds find loving homes. As the charity evolves to meet the changing landscape, this role will be pivotal in driving a step-change in how we communicate — raising awareness of the growing homing challenge, inspiring new audiences to get involved, and supporting our vital income generation work.

You’ll bring at least three years of proven experience in both strategic and hands-on PR and marketing — from planning and content creation to media relations, digital engagement, brand development and taking a lead on key events, such as Crufts and our annual Great Greyhound Gathering.

You’ll understand how effective PR and marketing can both protect and enhance a charity’s brand while also supporting income generation and engagement goals. You’ll bring the confidence and experience to balance these priorities and work collaboratively to achieve them.

Confident working across multiple audiences and channels, you’ll combine creative storytelling with data-driven insight to deliver measurable impact.

 General

In this role, you will oversee key income streams including committed giving, appeals, in-memory giving, legacy marketing and our Mid-Value Donor programme.

You'll be responsible for acquiring new supporters testing digital methods, nurturing existing relationships and developing insight-led donor journeys that maximise lifetime value while ensuring every supporter feels valued and connected to our cause. You’ll contribute to the development of operational plans, income targets and annual budgets.

Job Purpose 

• Oversee the delivery of a high-quality programme of community activity and engagement across three London Boroughs.

• Develop and grow our community engagement offer to ensure the needs and preferences of older people are being met. 

• Manage, lead and motivate a team of experienced community engagement officers, centre managers and lunch club coordinators. 

• Ensure a well-evidenced, high-quality and responsive service is delivered to clients with professionalism.

Key Tasks 

• Day-to-day management and leadership of the Community activities team comprising paid staff and volunteers, ensuring a strong team culture and their ongoing professional development.

• Support and develop your direct reports to include supervision, annual appraisal, planning of continued professional development opportunities and training needs. 

• Support and develop your team including team meetings, consultation and feedback sessions and establishing a culture of continual improvement.

• Lead and oversee the monitoring, recording and reporting of all activity within the programme area; ensuring the service is meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying and flagging any concerns and taking proactive action to address this; ensuring that internal and external stakeholders receive accurate and timely reports.

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing aligned services, opportunity-spotting, cross referrals, maintaining excellent working relationships with all external stakeholders.

• Support the Head of Community to ensure that evidence of the wider impact of our offer is spotlighted and presented to a wide range of stakeholders.

• Manage the budget, sign-off expenses, and ensure projects are delivered to budget, liaising with the Finance Department as necessary. 

• Support the Head of Community with generating funding e.g. being actively involved in consultation of possible projects, providing activity data, opportunity spotting, and/or supporting the production of tenders. 

• Contribute to the organisational objectives contained with AUKEL’s 5-Year strategy and actively identify opportunities for development, fundraising and systems improvement.

Product Manager – HOSTHub Lead

Role Purpose  

As Product Manager  HOSTHub Lead, you will drive the vision, design, and delivery of HOSTHub, HOST’s secure digital platform for global civil society operations.  

HOSTHub is the central nervous system of HOST - connecting partners, funders, and internal teams across finance, legal, and operations. You will lead the platform’s development and optimisation, ensuring every user journey is clear, intuitive, and aligned with HOST’s empowering, expert, and empathetic values.  

Working closely with the Partnerships and Engagement teams, along with our development contractors, you’ll translate user needs into product strategy, coordinate with the external development team, and deliver tools that make life easier for changemakers, funders, and the HOST team.  

This is a strategic, high-impact role for someone who can think systemically, act decisively, and balance big-picture design with hands-on delivery.  

Core Responsibilities  

1. Product Vision and Strategy  

Lead on the design, roadmap, and vision of HOSTHub as HOST’s flagship digital platform.  

Translate HOST’s organisational goals into a clear, scalable, and user-focused product strategy.  

Define and own product milestones, prioritising features that improve efficiency, visibility, and impact.  

Ensure HOSTHub reflects HOST’s values secure, transparent, intuitive, and empowering.  

Reporting cadence: Monthly progress and roadmap update to Operations Director and Leadership Team.  

2. User Journey and Experience Design  

Lead on designing the end-to-end user experience for hosted partners, funders, and staff.  

Map user journeys across onboarding, finance, compliance, and reporting workflows, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.  

Collaborate with the Partnerships and Community Support teams to align HOSTHub with the Hosted Partner and Funder Journeys.  

Work with the Communications Team to ensure all user-facing content is accessible, clear, and on-brand.  

Reporting cadence: Quarterly user feedback and UX improvement report.  

3. Development Oversight  

Oversee product design and development process, in coordination with the development team.  

Attend demo and planning sessions each sprint, provide clear prioritisation of activities and ensure that development is rolled out as required.   

Ensure that all Hosted Partner and HOST team voices are included and prioritised into the platform development, acting as central focal point for all HOSThub needs.  

Reporting cadence: Bi-weekly sprint updates; monthly development report.  

4. Data, Systems, and Integration  

Work with the Data Analyst to ensure HOSTHub captures accurate, useful data for reporting and impact measurement.  

Integrate Data and Impact measurement needs into the Product Roadmap prioritisation  

Support automation of key workflows across the Delivery and Partnerships Circles, improving speed and reducing manual processes.  

Maintain robust documentation of system architecture and data flows.  

Reporting cadence: Monthly systems performance and data accuracy review.  

5. Security, Compliance, and Risk  

Lead on platform security and data protection in collaboration with the Legal Lead.  

Ensure HOSTHub adheres to global data privacy and security standards (GDPR, AML/CTF, etc.). Prioritise required actions within roadmap.  

Conduct regular digital risk assessments and prioritise required actions within roadmap mitigation strategies.  

Lead the incident response process for digital issues or breaches, maintaining transparent communication with leadership.  

Reporting cadence: Quarterly security and compliance review.  

6. Cross-Team Collaboration and Capacity Building  

Work across HOST’s teams to ensure HOSTHub serves all service areas - Project Hosting, Hosted Grantmaking, and Capacity Building.  

Develop and deliver internal training sessions to build staff confidence and skills in using HOSTHub.  

Create and maintain onboarding resources, FAQs, and user guides.  

Partner with the Training Lead to embed digital literacy across the organisation and hosted partner community.

7. Continuous Improvement and Innovation  

Monitor emerging technologies and sector best practices to inform HOSTHub’s evolution.  

Evaluate and test new features, integrations, and user needs to maintain product relevance.  

Lead user feedback sessions and platform reviews to ensure HOSTHub grows with HOST’s global operations.  

Drive HOSTHub’s role in enabling a distributed, digital-first delivery model.

Required Experience  

5–8 years’ experience in product management, digital platform delivery, or systems development - ideally within SaaS, fintech, social enterprise, or digital infrastructure contexts.  

Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder digital products from concept to launch and iteration.  

Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user journey design, with practical experience mapping and optimising workflows for multiple user groups.  

Experience managing or coordinating external developers, digital agencies, or tech contractors in remote environments.  

Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into technical requirements, prioritising effectively across competing demands.  

Familiarity with API integrations, database systems, and workflow automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Airtable, or custom integrations).  

Proven success integrating digital tools with finance, CRM, or data systems (e.g. Sage, Salesforce, ClickUp, Zendesk).  

Strong data skills, including experience designing or using dashboards and analytics for performance and reporting.
