What the job involves

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Fundraising professional to join our Individual Giving Team, focussing on our mid value programme and assisting with the production and development of campaigns aimed specifically for this audience.

Direct Marketing plays an important role in the organisation’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy, and we have seen a fantastic growth in our mid-value programme to date. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and development of this audience and further shape the programme.  

As a Direct Marketing Executive, you’ll use a range of channel content to reach and meet the needs of your audience and tailor your approach based on audience insight. 

You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to warm mid value audience, to engage them wider with the work of Prostate Cancer UK with the overall aim to increase their life-time value.

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage direct marketing campaigns in the form of seasonal appeals, email updates, and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Direct Marketing Executive who has excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

• offer advice to governors and the college on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure a high level of governor engagement by ensuring an up-to-date calendar of opportunities, appropriate communications and effective tracking and gathering of feedback

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

The Role

The objectives of the Communications and Campaigns team are to increase the public profiles of Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK, mobilise public support to bring about change and ensure that all colleagues are aware of, bought into and engaged in contributing to the values and direction of the charities. 

A natural storyteller, you will have a talent for creating shortform video content that engages key audiences across our social media platforms. By generating ideas and making them happen, sourcing contributors, shooting and editing footage, you will monitor the performance of posts and proactively incorporate best practice to ensure that content is well received by audiences, and that the charities’ presence on its social media channels grows.

You will regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, the other founding charities and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.

With an eye for detail, you will use your project management skills to analyse the performance of social media content, refining and improving content through iteration.

You will also have experience of:

• Writing and editing copy to suit different audiences and providing updates and briefings at meetings.

The Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team works with young people facing homelessness to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education. As part of our delivery, we have developed a weekly ESOL group for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. 1st Place is a local success story. Born out of the vision from parents and children in 2005, we are now the recognised voluntary sector provider of early years and Best Start Family Hub services in Southwark.

We are first and foremost a hub of support for families with young children, from birth to rising five years and beyond which enables both children and parents to thrive. This includes health, parenting, as well as early years education through open access services and our highly regarded day nurseries.

You will bring the inspiring leadership, strategic foresight, and operational oversight that ensures that 1st Place continues to be “the place where children and families come first, the place where caring for the environment is second nature” and that we continue to be the go-to choice provider for partners, commissioners and funders.

1st Place is now a complex operation with many moving parts. You will need to be both strategic and outward facing as well as be ‘hands on’ in interacting with the children and families we work with and provide the visible leadership to staff and volunteers to enable them to continue to excel in OFSTED inspection, contract reviews and charity regulation.

BACCH Education and Training Administrator

The BACCH Education and Training Administrator is a newly created role supporting the British Association for Community Child Health (BACCH), a specialty group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. This role will take the lead on setting up and delivering educational courses and events for clinicians working in Community Child Health, including webinars, regional events, and the BACCH Annual Scientific Meeting.

Reporting to the BACCH Executive Officer, you will coordinate the development of a structured education and training offer, manage logistics for online and in-person courses, and support initiatives such as trainee-led learning and paid short courses. You will also support BACCH’s six affiliated specialist groups with administrative and event coordination as needed.

The role requires a highly organised and self-motivated individual with experience in event planning, digital platforms, and administrative systems. You’ll also maintain contact databases, filing systems, and internal procedures, while providing occasional cover for the wider team.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting educational events or working in professional membership organisations, along with strong communication, planning and IT skills. A background in healthcare, training, or children’s services and knowledge of website or budget management is desirable

The BACCH is the organisation for paediatricians and other professions working in community child health. BACCH is a membership organisation that represents doctors and other professionals working in paediatrics and child health in the community. Qualifications and knowledge areas

Likely to be educated to postgraduate level in a relevant area, or with equivalent experience, with knowledge of renewable energy and clean technologies and specific knowledge in low carbon transport and infrastructure technologies.

Candidates are likely to have a number of years’ experience in the sector and already be seen as a respected voice or participant in the sector, or a related field.

Westway CT is a non-profit social enterprise tackling isolation and creating community in West London through the provision of transport services and dedicated drivers offering a lifeline for community groups, older people, and anyone facing challenges using public transport across Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager who, reporting to the CEO, will play a key role in the running of two interconnected entities; a registered society, and its trading arm, which supports and subsidises their charitable aims. In so doing, the successful candidate will be helping to lead the way in a sustainable community benefit model that creates its own income by being part of the wider London transport mix, contributing to the local economy and working towards better air quality.

With line management responsibility of the Finance Officer, you will be an accredited qualified accountant, preferably with non-profit sector experience, with the ability to lead on the financial management of the organisation.

The Finance Manager is accountable for:

• Financial strategy and planning

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate a strong track record of managing a finance function producing budgets, management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial reports
• Have an excellent working knowledge of charity and company governance, including reporting standards and preparation of statutory accounts, as well HMRC, PAYE and Pension regulations.
• Be able to conduct financial scenario planning and cost analysis to proactively contribute to the strategic and operational planning and improvement of the organisation (i.e. in the case of investments and capital assets, grant applications, contract tendering, customer pricing, and credit control.)
• Be an efficient, highly organised team player with good communication skills, working effectively with internal colleagues, external stakeholders and suppliers of varying financial experience.
• Provide excellent line management and role modelling for your reports and colleagues to encourage professional development.
• An accredited qualified accountant (ACCA) (CIMA) or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably within the non-profit sector
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Sage 50, Quickbooks and/or another similar accounting software

Responsible for the day-to-day finances, you will have a hands-on approach, exceptional time management skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines in order to make an active contribution to the success and growth of Westway CT who are passionate about their community and making a tangible difference to the lives of local residents.
