Role Purpose

Our Communications Officer will help raise awareness of our work with our national partners and stakeholders. Working closely with the wider communications team, you’ll play a key role identifying opportunities to inform and engage our audiences through a range of communications, both digital and offline. You’ll have a strong eye for a compelling story to help demonstrate our impact and inspire collaboration from our partners, and you’ll know how to share these in the most effective ways to generate engagement.

You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, pulling together work from across the organisation and our programmes into a clear plan to share with our national stakeholders. Role Description

• Working with the senior communications manager, regional communications coordinators and fundraising team, implement a national content strategy and identify opportunities to share our work, including events and activities, in line with Thrive at Five’s communications aims and objectives
• Plan, write and edit a range of copy, both on and offline, including case studies, newsletters, blogs, infographics, films / video and promotional documents
• Produce content for Thrive at Five’s national LinkedIn channel, including videos, images and text, to support our overarching communications strategy and objectives  
• Analyse national and regional content performance across all channels and explore opportunities to drive audience engagement and growth, ensuring all online copy adheres to SEO best practice 
• Keep the Thrive at Five website up to date, writing and uploading regular news posts and blogs from across our programmes and activities 
• Support the senior communications manager to monitor and identify relevant opportunities for Thrive at Five to react to news, participate in online discussions and share insights to strengthen the brand’s authority 
• Work with the senior communications manager to review and update Thrive at Five’s brand guidelines, rolling out across the organisation and ensuring colleagues understand and can confidently apply them

Requirements

Training Standards Officer

We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.

This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. We are seeking a Dementia Carers Support Officer who can make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge. We are a Queen's Award winning charity with over 30 years experience of supporting unpaid carers in Redbridge. The post holder will focus on supporting carers of someone with dementia, by providing them with advice, information, referrals and access to peer social and learning activities.  The role requires an understanding of health and social care services, particularly in relation to support for unpaid carers and someone who can show compassion and understanding to carers in crises or facing complex challenges.  A key outcome is ensuring carers can live a healthy and fulfilling life alongside caring and not be at risk of acute isolation.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we complete our 60th anniversary year.

This is a key role as member of our growing Fundraising & Communications department, responsible for the coordination and delivery of daily communications tasks and the design and creation of marketing assets.

Ataxia UK has a large and engaged community of patients, supporters, volunteers, fundraisers and professionals. The post holder will work with the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Fundraising department and the wider organisation to ensure we reach our networks across social platforms, website, and printed materials with dynamic branded assets. You will coordinate the delivery of the quarterly Ataxia Magazine, liaising with internal and external contributors, designers and printers. Working closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to help shape Ataxia UK’s new communications and brand strategy.  

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with full time staff working 5 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 2 days a week. This is adjusted to 1 day per week for part time.

About you 

You will be a creative and dedicated individual, with a passion for communications, looking for a new challenge and excited by the opportunity to help shape our new strategy. You will be someone who thrives in a project-management environment and able to work both independently and closely with colleagues and external suppliers.

Organised and details-focused, you are confident across socials, website SEO, CRM and a range of communications software such as Canva, InDesign etc. You will have a keen understanding of how the role can support our fundraising and you will have experience working closely with fundraising teams or on income-generating projects or events.  As a key member of the team responsible for our brand and messaging, you will have the skills and experience to ensure we positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

About the Degrees Initiative  

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.  

Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South-South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community-building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.

We’re looking for a part-time Grants and Trusts Officer (2.5 days a week). Office or home based, they will be a vital member of our fundraising team, working closely with programme staff and the CEO to continue to grow grant funding for our work – shaping funding bids, managing grants and reporting, and building relationships with funders and funding networks. 

Purpose of role:

Increasing and diversifying the sources of grant funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Trusts Officer will play a key role identifying, securing, and managing grants from a range of sources, including small trusts, large foundations, and Church denominations. In doing so, they will work closely with programme staff , CEO and Finance Director to develop funding bids, and coordinate closely with other members of the fundraising team, such as the Major Donor Officer. They will also manage occasional legacies. The successful candidate will have previous experience securing funds from trusts, as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in the environment and an active Christian faith.

We’re looking for a part-time Trusts Fundraising Officer to contribute their skills, experience, and personality to add value to our Trusts team within the Fundraising department at Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.

This home-based role is now available due to the current post holder moving on to new pastures. The Trust team has had incredible success in recent years, which we are eager to sustain and grow. The successful candidate will provide support to the Trusts Fundraising Manager and work alongside a fellow part-time Trusts Fundraising Officer within this ambitious team.

The role is a varied one, focusing on all aspects of the funding cycle – from identifying opportunities and building relationships, to writing compelling applications and providing high level stewardship. The team works collaboratively across the Association to ensure Blesma’s programmes and services can continue to help limbless veterans and their families.

Blesma is unique as a membership Association as well as a charity. Our Members are the heart of all our work – therefore, the impact of our fundraising is clearly visible in the experiences of our inspirational limbless veterans.
