We have a new role for a Service Development Manager. You will be creative and independent thinker who can work across a range of disciplines to increase our community presence, drive improvement in areas of our business performance, and build participation from volunteers, clients and their families in shaping the charity's sustainability.

• To lead the development and delivery of operations, new initiatives, partnerships in our community and volunteer services.

• To lead the development of volunteer capacity across the charity, particularly our horticulture and day opportunities services.

• To manage staff at our horticultural service and promote our nursey and community garden to drive its development and sustainability.

• To work with the leadership team to identify and apply for grants, partnerships and other financial support options to drive service development and income growth.

• To support the charity’s drive toward values-based recruitment and leadership of its staff, volunteers and those using its services.

• Work to ensure that the business priorities and targets associated with the corporate strategy are being met for their service portfolio and the staff working with.

Responsible for:

• Financial oversight and leadership.

Duties Include:

Fundraising and project development:

· Lead the implementation of Bexley Mencap’s Fundraising Strategy; reviewing existing fundraising strategies, identifying opportunities for development and introducing innovative strategies to achieve fundraising goals. 

· Research and pursue new funding opportunities; including grants, legacies and social enterprise/earned income opportunities.

· Develop compelling cases for support, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly

· Develop and maintain funding pipelines, providing reports to the Trustee Board

· Support and line manage part-time member of the team (may be required to support more staff if the role grows/adapts)

· Support the Chief Executive in extending and strengthening relationships with existing partners and developing new relationships

· Ensure all fundraising initiatives adhere to best practices, ethical guidelines and legislation

· Identify and evaluate opportunities for new projects and initiatives aligned with the mission and objectives of the organisation.

· Lead the development of project proposals, including conducting needs assessments, defining project scopes, and establishing timelines and budgets.

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, gig buddy, travel buddy scheme, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.

We are now looking for a committed individual to join our Gig Buddy team. The role holder will help to deliver a broad range of social activities which increase fun, friends, confidence and independence for our members with a learning disability.

About the role

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Engagement team as our Legacy Fundraising Officer. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will working flexibly between home and our office in King's Cross, London.

Over a third of Sense’s voluntary income comes from gifts in Wills. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of the legacy marketing programme for existing and new supporters, in order to increase income from legacies and maintain and grow .our pipeline of legacy prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• To work closely with the Legacy Manager and Head of Individual Giving & Legacies in shaping and delivering the legacy marketing and administration programme to achieve annual income targets and other KPIs.
• To manage the delivery of legacy marketing projects from conception to delivery and evaluation in conjunction with the appropriate team members.
• Negotiate project costs with key suppliers to ensure projects are as cost-effective as possible.
• To actively participate in planning and review meetings with the Legacy team and other colleagues and key suppliers, and maintain a thorough understanding of latest developments, current trends, and legislation as it applies to the fundraising and legacy landscape.
• To project manage the development and delivery of legacy marketing activities across a variety of media to acquire new or steward existing legacy supporters to Sense. 
• To manage the annual legacy ‘Remember A Charity’ campaign raising awareness of legacy giving among internal stakeholders, their networks, supporters and the public

Key skills and experience

• Proven experience of managing all aspects of the delivery of successful fundraising direct marketing campaigns in a charity or not-for-profit setting from inception stage to post campaign analysis.  
• Self-starter and highly organised with an ability to work systemically to targets and deadlines.  
• Demonstrable experience of supporter acquisition, retention and development of supporters.
• Confident with data selections / segmentation and campaign analysis principles.
• Ability to confidently manage all stages of direct marketing based fundraising campaigns across a range of media including Telephone, Direct Mail, Email and SMS to deliver successful fundraising campaigns. 
• A good eye for design and a proven creative flair, with some copywriting / editing experience and an impeccable attention to detail.

Senior CRM Database Officer

Mencap have a fantastic opportunity in the CRM Database team.  We are looking for a Senior CRM Database Officer to work on BAU data process improvements, complex SQL selections, data imports and CRM training.  Mencap are seeking a highly skilled database professional who wants to join a vibrant and dynamic team that is passionate about making the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability. This is an exciting time to join the team, as Mencap are currently in the early stages of a CRM Migration project, to transition from alms NET to Salesforce. 

As the Senior CRM Database Officer, you will combine your strong CRM technical and analytical skills with excellent communication skills to ensure that all our internal & external stakeholders are presented with accurate, accessible data.  You will work within the Fundraising Operations team (FrOps) providing quality CRM data related support and advice to Fundraising CRM users in line with team service levels and performance targets.  In this role, you will identify, implement and write up process improvements; develop & deliver complex data campaign mailing selections & analytics to Fundraising CRM system users for direct marketing purposes; provide support and cover for data import processes and deliver training and procedure guides.  You will also maintain and develop our CRM data systems, ensuring our data accuracy & integrity meets all Fundraising compliance standards. 

This is a permanent full-time role. We offer flexible working with at least one day per week (Tuesday) based in our London office near Aldgate East, Aldgate and Liverpool Street stations.

We provide creative speech and language therapy-based activities which build confidence and skills in people with communication difficulties due to learning disabilities, autism or dementia and provide training for communication partners.

About the role

Include was founded in 2018, in response to an identified lack of opportunity and support for people with communication needs and has grown steadily ever since. This post has been created in response to that growth and achievement.

The Operations and Business Development Lead will play an important role in overseeing effective organisational service delivery and working closely with the CEO to develop the role of the charity within Surrey and beyond. The role requires overseeing delivery of key projects, managing a small team of staff and volunteers, developing long-term business plans and curating relationships with new partners and funders to ensure Include has the resilience to deliver against its mission into the future.

As OBD Lead, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team working with the CEO, Finance & Data Lead, Communications & Partnerships Lead & Clinical Lead to develop and deliver Include’s core services and processes, with an eye for sustainability, impact and long-term growth.

This is a hybrid role. You will be asked to assist at events or performances, in addition to regularly attending sessions and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Develop, support, and improve service delivery of key activities
• Review and improve impact measurement processes
• Review and improve policies and procedures
• Review and improve governance frameworks
• Manage a team of staff and chair meetings
• Support with HR functions and structural
• Prepare and create reports for the benefit of CEO and board of trustees

Business Development and Fundraising

The role is within a small team that has a focus on Employer Relationships, Job Finding programmes (including our Alumni Job Club and Jobseekers Plus) In Work support for adults in Employment and Employer Training.

In addition to this we manage Employment Autism Employment Autism 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. To lead on running our employability training and Alumni Job Club.

2. To develop workshop structures and learning materials for these in close collaboration with the Development Director and ensure that participant feedback from earlier programmes is incorporated.

3. To line manage Development Job Coaches as needed.

4. To manage and deliver job search sessions.

5. To lease with Employability Lead when participants are ready to move over in In Work Support team.

6. To advertise project opportunities to autistic people throughout London and manage project recruitment and onboarding.

7. To ensure processes are in-place for each project to:- assess each participant’s individual skills and gather baseline data; ensure job matches are appropriate to the individual’s needs and aspirations; and that targets set are relevant and promote new skills and learning; acquire and complete necessary risk assessments to ensure safety of clients, staff and partners.

8. To oversee the set up and settling in of jobseekers into work placements, when needed. Providing support and training to employers where required; providing personalised on the job training to participants and employers as required and develop strategies and advise on reasonable adjustments.

9. To coach, train and help manage new project staff to support jobseekers and put in place monitoring protocols.

10.  To ensure jobseekers are progressing towards their individual targets; understand protocols and interpret work culture correctly; understand the health & safety in the work environment and adopt appropriate workplace behaviour.

11.  To ensure good working relationships are maintained with all employers/ work experience placements and that feedback is regularly sort from all stakeholders to help improve our service delivery and future opportunities.

12.  As a key member of the Development Team to work closely with the Development Director to actively, engage with employers and external organisations to promote CareTrade and our job seekers and to pursue opportunities to work collaboratively.

13.  To attend events, to market CareTrade to autistic jobseekers and to liaise with Disability Employment Advisors at JobCentre Plus, Disability Services teams, Social Workers and others to promote and support employment opportunities as needed.

14.  To organise and promote social groups for jobseekers.

15.  To collect data and use data analysis to help produce reports, internally, for funders and partners.

16.   To help seek and apply for appropriate awards and grants when required.

17.  To be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)  and First Aider and complete regular training working alongside the Development Director to ensure the safety of participants and staff.

18.  To complete relevant health and safety training and be a named fire marshal.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should possess a multifaceted skill set with a demonstrable commitment to the vision and values of Muscular Dystrophy UK.

You must be a strategic thinker, capable of collaborating with the Board to define a clear organisational vision and effectively communicate it both internally and externally.

You should also demonstrate a mature understanding of charity governance, ensuring effective financial planning, tight controls, and risk management. You must possess high financial acumen to monitor income trends, identify areas for efficiency, and reduce costs while inspiring, motivating, and managing staff and volunteers to ensure coordinated activities across the organisation.

Additionally, you need to be an empathetic listener, with high levels of emotional intelligence, engaging a diverse group of stakeholders. You should demonstrate strong communication skills, resilience in problem-solving, and a coaching/mentoring style at all levels, while maintaining clarity, openness, and determination to achieve agreed objectives.

Experience:

• Significant leadership experience gained at senior level in a complex environment, ideally with good, first-hand knowledge of the research or health sectors, working with patients, families or vulnerable people.
• Evidence of leading the development and delivery of organisational strategy, key targets, service improvements and management of change.
• Solid track record of effectively managing resources and budgets, with experience of delivering long term financial sustainability and stewardship of valuable resources.
• Ability to forge and nurture effective partnerships and collaborative relationships with a range of organisations both inside and outside the research, healthcare and/or charitable sectors and also with patients and their families.

This varied and dynamic role will lead on the set up, coordination and provision of excellent person-centred care and support to service users, enabling them to live independently in their home and be supported in all aspects of day-to-day living. As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support to meet individual needs. You will also contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of support workers.

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and coaching a team supporting people with learning disabilities or another vulnerable client group. Experience of supporting people with high and complex support needs would be an advantage. Dog A.I.D. is recruiting for the exciting new role of Programme Support and Engagement Officer. The post holder will play a key role across client support and volunteer engagement functions within the charity. They will work alongside our operations and training teams to support and engage our existing network of volunteer trainers and support them effectively to ensure their long-term retention. As well as providing administration for our existing volunteer CPD offer, the post-holder will support the roll-out, administration and evaluation of two crucial new projects, a trainer mentoring programme and an in-house assessor’s course.

The Programme Support and Engagement Officer will also develop trusting and empathetic relationships with our clients, engaging and supporting them as they navigate the Assistance Dog training programme.

This role is person-centred and focused on building great relationships with clients and volunteers. You will often be the first point of contact for volunteers and clients contacting the charity, so an empathetic, diplomatic and professional approach is essential, as well as excellent inter-personal and communication skills. The role post-holder will be expected to undertake a wide array of administrative tasks related to programme support, so it is essential that the right candidate is able to manage and work through a heavy and varied workload efficiently and effectively.

Dog A.I.D. has a small staff team so it is essential that the post-holder is a strong team member who is proactive and self-motivated. They need to be able to see “the bigger picture”, identify priorities and use their initiative to “get on and do” what needs to be done. Dog Assistance in Disability (A.I.D.) is a unique organisation, empowering disabled people to train their own pet dogs, supported by professional dog trainers as volunteers.

Dog A.I.D. was established in 1992 to assist people with physical disabilities, improving their quality of life by helping them train their own pet dogs to provide assistance with day-to-day tasks.

In 1996, the Dog A.I.D. Scheme was launched nationally at Crufts and today has a team of staff, volunteer trainers and assessors based across the country supporting over 168 Assistance Dog partnerships, both in training and fully qualified, with our office base in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

As of May 2024, there are currently 98 fully qualified Dog A.I.D. dogs throughout the country, with 70 more in training with 95 voluntary Dog A.I.D. Trainers. The training takes up to two years with both dog and disabled owner (‘client’) receiving specialist education from our network of trainers and attaining fully accredited Assistance Dog status through three distinct stages.

Dog A.I.D. is a member of Assistance Dogs UK, a voluntary coalition of Assistance Dog charities that aims to promote the freedom, independence and rights of people with assistance dogs across the UK. All Assistance Dogs UK dogs adhere to the highest training and welfare standards as set out by Assistance Dogs International and the International Guide Dogs Federation.

This is an exciting time for the charity which has a strong team in place led by a new CEO who took up post in October 2023. Last year, the charity developed and launched its new 3-year strategic plan which has an ambitious plan for growth to meet the incredible demand for its life-changing services.
