The Operations Manager is an internally focused role that ensures the advertised service is delivered. You will be part of the senior management team ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a high quality advice service, including overall management of the advice session supervisors and volunteer team.

The Director of Development and External Affairs will determine a strategic plan for business development, fundraising and commercial opportunities within the remit of the role. Supported by a small Development team, this will include corporate sponsorship, hire and hospitality, filming and photography location shooting, as well as fundraising revenue streams. You will manage both capital and revenue income targets and support an experienced Audience & Communications team to increase visitor attendance to achieve c. 400,000 visitors per year. Crucially you will deputise for the Chief Executive where appropriate.
The selected candidate will have leadership experience in an organisation of at least comparable scale and complexity and will have a track record of developing and delivering successful strategies across, fundraising and business development and preferably marketing. The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.
The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, with excellent networking skills and the ability to liaise and influence at a senior level.

About the role

- Excellent communication and line management skills
- Well-developed finance skills, able to manage multiple complex budgets.
- Proven track record of business planning and managing a diverse range of services.
- Ability to produce written and statistical reports to a high professional standard, with an understanding and appreciation of the value of data for impact.
- Creative, curious, and flexible approach with a willingness to adapt and change priorities accordingly.
