About the Role

As a Data Officer at Myeloma UK, you will be supporting the charity as we implement a brand-new data strategy. You will ensure our data is handled with the highest care, complying with best practice in data protection, and be involved in projects covering data management, data cleaning, reporting, and analysis.

Some of your varied responsibilities will include:

· Collaborate across the charity assessing our processing and help to manage communication preferences, data assets, including maintaining the Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) log.

· Support us in assessing new and existing data processing to ensure we follow privacy by design principles.

· Enhance data flows from multiple sources to our CRM, providing training and support to colleagues where needed.

· Contribute to the development and execution of a brand-new data strategy, improving our charity’s data maturity through staff training and promoting best practice.

· Create dashboards and visualisations, identify trends, and provide insights to enhance how we work.

As a Support and Advocacy Officer you will join a skilled team who collectively provide a unique UK-wide support and advocacy service to over 1500 members. 

You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members.  This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. You will raise awareness within both the Fabry community and external agencies; and contribute to the development of resources, to promote self-advocacy within the patient group.  A key objective of the role will be to build a sense of community and identity for our Fabry membership.  You will also have the opportunity to facilitate and contribute to project work, including youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.

In addition to supporting the Fabry community there will also be a requirement to provide support to those affected by other conditions under our umbrella.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a good understanding of MPS and Fabry conditions
• Develop knowledge of legislation and best practice relevant to supporting people with life-long conditions

• Support and signpost people towards mental health and psychological support as required
• Undertake UK-wide travel to visit individuals and families and attend meetings and events

• Promote awareness by giving talks and presentations to outside organisations, professionals and the general public

 Experience & skills

• Minimum of two years’ experience of working with individuals with disabilities within health and social care, education, or related field
• Ability to communicate accurately, concisely and with clarity
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding best practices
• Excellent IT skills to maintain accurate case recording, produce clear reports, correspondences and presentations
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a small, dedicated team
• Experience of managing projects and service development is advantageous

Prior knowledge of Fabry Disease is not required as in-depth support and training will be provided.  Regular supervision and a supportive work culture will help you to expand your knowledge and become an expert in the work you are undertaking.

We’re looking for an experienced trainer to lead on the implementation and delivery of the Learning and Development framework issued by the House of Bishops.

• Be responsible for the organisation, implementation and delivery of the national safeguarding learning and development framework

Job Summary

To take the lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children, young people and adults at risk of harm safe are actioned at MHI as part of a Designated Safeguarding team covering the Shout platform 24/7. The role is responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people on our platform, being a consistent and reliable presence on the Shout platform, and advising Shout Supervisors on safeguarding actions and practise while raising and recording safeguarding issues as they arise. 

Key Responsibilities

• To act as an MHI Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Alongside the DSL/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with or for children and young people at MHI, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s welfare
• Take a lead role in implementing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning children and young people who take part in MHI’s activities are responded to appropriately
• Take the lead on responding to information that may constitute a child protection concern, including a concern that an adult involved with MHI may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
  • assessing and clarifying the information
  • calling in and recording all safeguarding issues as they arise.
  • supporting and responding to staff who raise internal concerns as well as supporting those who make external safeguarding referrals to police or Adult / Children's Services
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing the relevant members of the organisation’s management
  • following the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures

• Immediately referring cases to the Safeguarding Panel where there is a radicalisation concern

• Liaise with, pass on information to and receive information from statutory child protection agencies such as:
  • the local authority child protection services
  • the police
  • this includes making formal referrals to agencies when necessary.
• Record and retain child protection records according to legal requirements and the organisation’s safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.
• Work closely with the management committee/board of trustees and Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns about organisational safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Contribute to regular reports to MHI’s board of trustees on issues relating to safeguarding and child protection, to ensure that child protection is seen as an ongoing priority issue and that safeguarding and child protection requirements are being followed at all levels of the organisation.
• Be familiar with and work within inter-agency child protection procedures developed by child protection agencies working in partnership with MHI.
• Be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new developments in this area.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.

The role

We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.

The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.

Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.

Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.

You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.

The salary for this role is £30,000 - £34,000 per annum (dependent on relevant skills and experience). You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer. SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. The Partnerships Manager will manage a portfolio of commercial and fundraising accounts totalling c.£250k, as well as some new business development. The portfolio includes a £60k per annum CRM relationship with Plum & Ashby, focused around the Wave of Light candle campaign for Baby Loss Awareness week, with lots of influencer and comms engagement. The new business element will support the Senior Partnerships Manager and the Head of Corporate in their new strategy for increased brand, strategic and coty partnerships.

Key responsibilities:

• Account manage and build strong relationships with corporate partners at a 5-figure+ level
• Create and deliver high quality account management and stewardship plans for your accounts
• Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders internally and externally
• Take a proactive role in developing and nurturing a pipeline of new opportunities

Essential criteria:

• Experience of fundraising in a charity setting – ideally in corporate partnerships, although we’d also be open to transferable skills from trusts, major donors or community fundraising
