Context of the role.

The successful candidate will be guided by the Communications & Fundraising Officer to communicate the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers and demonstrate the impact of Upbeat Communities to our supporters and followers, as well as to new audiences. They will have a positive attitude and love communicating what we do as a charity.

The role can mostly be done remotely; however, it will be required for the candidate to travel to our base in Derby a minimum of 1 day a week to stay connected to the team, and for team meetings and training as and when they occur.

Upbeat Communities was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK and the stories they shared of their lives and their journeys. Through building relationships with those from refugee communities we were able to identify their needs and the best ways to respond.

One of the best resources a refugee can have to help them settle in their new home is a good social network. Relationships and connectedness can help overcome the many challenges faced by those seeking refuge. With this aim, we want to help connect refugees into community.

Our name reflects our vision to see thriving, positive communities where refugees can contribute and make the most of opportunities.

We greet new arrivals with our Welcome Boxes befriending project. We offer free English classes and community activities to help refugees (adults and children) integrate. We empower refugees to rebuild their lives through Host Derby (temporary accommodation), mentoring (careers guidance) and the UK Refugee Resettlement Scheme, which local authorities contract us to deliver. We also empower the local community through awareness raising.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Content creation

•  Creating written and visual content for social media and our website.
• Finding useful resources, articles, and news to be shared on our website, blog and social media.

Social media and website

•  Day-to-day management of Upbeat’s social media accounts including creating and scheduling content, replying to messages, and interacting with followers.
•  Updating the website with relevant images, statistics, and news.

Supporter stewardship

• Following Upbeat’s donations process, ensure donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner, and that all communications are logged on to our database (Donorfy).
• Researching local fundraising or awareness-raising opportunities and events.

Other

• Working with Upbeat’s Communications & Fundraising Officer on larger-scale fundraising campaigns throughout the year, as well as the communication of these campaigns.
• Making an active contribution to the overall work of Upbeat Communities through team meetings, staff training, awareness and fundraising events, and any other appropriate activities.
• Being committed to and working in accordance with Upbeat’s values and ethos, as well as adhering to all organisational policies and procedures.

Victim Support is proud to have been commissioned in Cumbria to provide support for victims of all crime, whether or not they have reported to the police.

The service will be a valuable point of contact for anyone affected by crime at any time to contact and receive help, support and information. It will be busy and fast paced receiving referrals and calls of varying nature from a variety of people, and working to provide an offer of support by a victim's preferred method and time of contact.

About the role:

The role of Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the service in Cumbria.

As a TEIO, you will;

• answer incoming calls, speaking to those affected by crime & manage a caseload
• make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
• work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
• liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
• work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime

You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.

You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

To succeed in this role you'll be a strong copywriter with the ability to adapt and adhere to the Ambition tone of voice and style guide. It is essential that you have experience in creating content in a range of formats and for a range of channels. Whilst it would be desirable for you to have design skills with experience of using InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop, this is not essential for the role.

Job Overview:

To provide a Customer Call Centre as the "first point of contact" within Look Ahead for customers, staff, contractors and external agencies for rent, housing benefit, service charge, repairs, complaints and customer support queries.

Working Patterns are Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm

What you'll do:

- As a member of the Customer Call Centre be the first point of contact for customers and staff throughout the organisation on all enquiries

- Deal with enquiries on Housing Management, Maintenance and Customer Support

- Receive and action maintenance requests for owned, managed or leased properties

- Receive, log and transfer complaints received in accordance with Look Ahead's policy and procedure

- Data entry into IT systems and databases for reporting and performance indicators

- Support of administration functions within the team

Key Responsibilities:

- To receive enquiries in all formats and be the first point of contact to resolve or action/escalate accordingly

- To resolve and provide information on initial rent, housing benefit and service charge enquiries

- To provide details on Look Ahead's Support function for customers or external agencies to include Support Worker or scheme contact details and referral process

- To log and transfer complaints in accordance with Look Ahead's procedure and policy

- Receive and action maintenance requests for owned, managed or leased properties to include responsive repairs, void/empty property repairs, insurance, rechargeable, planned, cyclical and servicing works. - Provide support in the duties of the other administration roles within the team (including occasional reception cover)

Hillside Clubhouse is recruiting for a mental health employment specialist to join our dynamic Camden team supporting people with mental health conditions to gain and retain employment.  The role is working within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within an NHS secondary care mental health team based in the heart of Camden.

Who we are: 

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.

The Role: 

The role is within our IPS Service and will be based within a Camden NHS secondary care team. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover, ultimately transforming their lives.

A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to -  a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, and to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health. 

The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from Camden and Islington Foundation Trust.  They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

Overall aim: 

To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

Primary Duties: 

• Manage a caseload of up to twenty clients and work within and apply the 8 principles of IPS in all aspects of role. 
• To work with and enable clients to find work using a mix of conventional approaches and employer engagement. 
• To generate ongoing referrals from the clinical team and to manage those effectively. 
• To engage directly and collaboratively with the clinical team while maintaining the existing multi-disciplinary approach to assisting clients seeking work. 
• To report and meet regularly with clinical team service managers and the IPS Operations manager, and to participate in both casework and clinical supervision from IPS Operations and clinical team services managers. 
• To be an active member of both the clinical and Hillside teams 
• To be responsible for own management of administrative duties tied to both Hillside Clubhouse and clinical team and adhering to existing Hillside and NHS protocols. 
• Source job opportunities specific to client needs from a range of sources including those advertised via current and conventional means, as well as through contact with local and Pan London employers. 
• To build up a network of employers to secure available and future vacancies. 
• To maintain existing and seek out new relationships with a range of external agencies of use to the post. 
• To provide ongoing support to both client and employers (where appropriate) when starting work and until such time as the client makes the decision to end the support provided. 
• To work with clients to collaboratively manage job searching activities and engagement with the service. 
• To manage and meet all KPIs, statistics and documentation as required, including but not limited to: referrals, first meetings, job outcomes, job sustainments of 6, 13 and 26 weeks, and work retention. 
• To provide guidance on the impact and/or the potential change to benefits when clients start work. 
• To work and manage time effectively in both community/external settings, and at clinical team.

• To work out of hours as and when required, working in line with Hillside Clubhouse risk management procedures.
