Acting as a strategic people partner for Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, this role will drive people management initiatives, support the Foundation Strategy and the delivery of a strategic plan to achieve this. The role will have a designated internal client base to directly partner and will support the Foundation in promoting its corporate values and shaping a positive culture.
This role will establish consistency of practice with all Foundation People Business Partners and ensure delivery of a cost effective, customer-focussed service whilst continually striving for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
· Develop a thorough understanding of the Foundation and the business area where you are providing support in order to provide a full people partnering service.
· Translate People strategy and agreed deliverables for your designated business areas into achievable plans and a prioritised implementation map.
· Establish effective relationships with business leads to enable you to provide valued interventions and insights on people management strategies.
· Advise directorate managers on managing people effectively including treating people fairly and professionally to ensure employee engagement and the delivery of Foundation objectives.
· Work with directorate leads to identify skills and capabilities they need to deliver current and future work, liaising with the Talent Management Hub (Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition) to manage the resourcing and talent processes.
· Partner with business area leads to develop learning and development plans for your designated directorate, and liaise with the Learning & Development Manager to identify gaps in levels of capability.
· Work with the Head of Learning & Development to introduce talent mapping initiatives and ensure that leaders and managers within designated directorates are equipped with the skills and confidence to manage effectively.
· In liaison with the People Advisor, provide regular key people metrics with analysis, narrative and ideas to encourage your designated business leads/managers to seek continuous improvements and regular review of individual and team delivery.
· Work with, and bring in, specialists across the People & Culture directorate (e.g., Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, DEI) to respond to planned and emerging people and business objectives.
Advise, manage, and support
· Develop and maintain all Foundation policies, procedures, processes and forms required to deliver a People service capable of ensuring that the Foundation discharges its duties efficiently and effectively.
· Ensure legal compliance of all People processes and procedures, enabling best practice to be attained in providing guidance to managers and employees, and safeguarding the Foundation’s reputation in the execution of its duties.
· Ensure up to date knowledge of all employment policies and procedures and provide advice and input as required.
· Act as a point of contact for employees to discuss confidential matters or grievances.
· Partner with line managers to provide advice on employee issues, coach managers on how to manage people and resolve employee issues including via the grievance and disciplinary processes.
· Stay current on industry trends, employment law and best practice to provide guidance to managers and staff on all People, legal and compliance issues.
· Foster a positive working environment for all people working at the Foundation.
· Process monthly payroll promptly and accurately with supervision from the Senior People Business Partner.
· Contribute to the Foundation’s strategic approach to diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) and work to actively embed practices which promote DEI across the Foundation’s approach to its workforce and people processes.
· Act as a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) champion, representing the directorate and liaising with employee networks on People related issues, policies and procedures.
Performance management
· Partner with directorate leads to drive appropriate and timely performance management and improve performance delivery.
· Manage individual review cycles for your designated directorate, sending reminders to managers when reviews are due and signposting staff and Line Managers to further support and guidance.
· Coach managers on the use of PDPs.
· Promote mandatory eLearning and ensure it is undertaken within prescribed timescales.
· Working with the People Advisor and business leads provide oversight of the 360 feedback surveys for end of year reviews for your directorate.
Employee Engagement and Organisational Development
· Take on/lead any other projects as requested by the Head of People & Culture or Chief People Officer
· Nurture a positive working environment by embedding the company culture and values in the implementation of all people related initiatives.
· Provide mentorship to junior colleagues in the People & Culture directorate and play a key role in their development.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. More than anything you will need to champion what young people can achieve, be committed to collaborating with others and determined to find a way.

The role
You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, ensuring financial functions are carried out efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely way to enable us to focus on achieving our charitable mission.
The focus of the role will be on managing and improving financial processes, ensuring that the Senior Leadership Team have up-to-date and accurate records for reporting to the Board, supporting the programmes and philanthropy teams with accurate fund reports and preparing the accounts for audit each year. You will work closely with the whole team of staff and volunteers, but you will work most closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager.
You’ll be provided with training on our CRM and IT systems. The successful applicant will always be expected to observe our values and policies and to actively engage with continuous professional development.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Treasury and Investment Management
· Monitor endowment investments and provide calculations and support in relation to total return
· Prepare quarterly investment management report
· Treasury management to maximise our investment returns
2. Bookkeeping and Management Accounts
· Work with the Finance Manager to ensure donations are properly recorded on our CRM and in Sage
· Work with the Finance Manager to reconcile bank accounts monthly
· Preparing monthly management reports, noting significant variances with forecasts
· Monitor outstanding debtors, and with line manager approval, chase overdue debtors
· Prepare fund balances when required by the programmes team to support grant-making
· Presentation of management accounts to board and engagement with board members as required
3. Annual Accounts
· Prepare statutory accounts, working with the Operations Director and CEO to ensure income and costs are allocated accurately across SORP categories
· Participate in the Audit process, engaging with auditors and prepare information for audit and liaise with auditors in the conduct of the annual audit process

· Support the Senior Leadership Team in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecast

Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required
· Ideally at least five years’ experience in a similar role

Tearfund is looking for a part time Governance Manager and Company Secretary to support the effective governance of the Board, including supporting the Chair and the Board in fulfilling their legal and regulatory obligations and promoting best governance practice. The role will be responsible for providing high level support and advice to the Board, Chair, CEO and Board Committees, ensuring that the Trustees understand their roles and are appropriately recruited, inducted and supported to fulfil their roles. About the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA)
The NSPA network has grown significantly since 2020. The number of organisations working with us has almost doubled and individual membership has increased four-fold. Whilst those running suicide prevention programmes are a significant proportion of our membership, a growing number are those whose core business is not suicide prevention but who recognise the need to take action and are seeking support to do so.
There are more organisations than ever working to prevent suicide and it can be difficult to navigate the wealth of information available and connect with organisations that may be undertaking similar/ relevant work. Some may be unaware of or find it difficult to access evidence around what works, what is already happening and what can be built upon.

Make a real difference in the lives of those affected by suicide, all whilst working in a supportive and inclusive environment. As our NSPA Content & Engagement Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our efforts to drive meaningful change to help prevent suicide.
Your Role
You’ll lead the development and delivery of a suicide prevention community engagement strategy and plan, including an online hub and ambassador initiative to support capacity building in suicide prevention across England. You will:
• Develop a more strategic approach to our engagement with members
• Support the next step in the development of our network by building an online community hub, to support on-going knowledge-sharing, community connection and depth of engagement with our wide range of members.
• Have the opportunity to build and manage relationships with NSPA members, people with lived experience and other key stakeholders.
• Manage the NSPA’s communications, working closely with the Membership & Communications Officers with strategic input from the Executive Lead.
Emotional Resilience
In this role you may be exposed to detailed information and personal stories of suicide, which may be upsetting. We will discuss this with you at interview stage however this role does require a good level of emotional resilience. Support is in place both from the organisation and within the team.

What we want from you
