Job description


Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working pattern: Full time over a 4 day working week. Hybrid working with one day a week in our central London office (London Bridge)

We are Spinal Research, the United Kingdom's leading medical charity focused on the repair and restoration of the spinal cord. Every two hours someone in the UK becomes paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. It can happen to anyone at any time, changing lives instantly.

We fund groundbreaking research that will cure paralysis, helping to ensure people living with spinal cord injuries will one day receive life-changing treatments.

About the role

We are seeking an individual giving officer to support the development and delivery of our individual giving programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our fundraising team, helping to grow income and deepen engagement from our supporter base.

Key duties

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of individual giving campaigns that deliver sustainable income growth and long-term donor engagement
  • Manage supporter engagement and acquisition across multiple channels including social media, email, SMS, direct mail, and online campaigns
  • Work closely with the fundraising, research, and communications teams to ensure successful delivery of individual giving activities
  • Oversee data selection for campaigns to optimise return on investment and support testing; ensure data is managed securely and in line with GDPR
  • Support reporting and forecasting of financial and non-financial performance across the individual giving programme
  • Contribute to the development and launch of a mid-value donor fundraising programme
  • Support donor journeys that build loyalty and increase lifetime value through a range of fundraising products

Skills and experience required

  • Proven experience managing projects across direct marketing channels, including both digital and print
  • Strong copywriting and creative writing skills
  • Experience developing fundraising and marketing content based on audience insights
  • Confident working with external agencies across creative, print, digital, and media
  • Experience supporting the planning and budgeting of individual giving activity
  • Familiarity with legacy marketing is desirable but not essential
